- This chicken adobo with potatoes is a tagalog version of adobo and it’s saucy unlike the other adobo recipes I’ve already posted that has very little sauce or almost dry and oily. Ingredients
1 kilo chicken, chop into serving pieces
2 medium size potatoes, quartered
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 soy sauce
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp salt or patis (optional)
1 pc laurel or bay leaf
1/2 cup water
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium size onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. cooking oil

Added yellow and green bell pepper but forgot to add bay leaves. Still came out sarap nako! Also, the juice from a whole lemon added during final 15 minutes made it taste much better. It’s been a long time since I last made chicken adobo..your video was most helpful, Thank you💯🙏

Oh i used to do this and yes its super delicious.. actually you can put any kind og vegitable in adobo... i try also eggplant and a big mashrom... im using pork

I know there are different variations of adobo, BUT THIS is the way my mom used to make it because the chicken isn't so dark like others and its more saucy!!!! and garlic-y!!!! and she always put the potatoes its the best way to make adobo IMO!!!!! THANK YOU for the recipe!

Bakit tuwing magluluto ako ng adobong manok iba lagi lasa kinalabasan .. same naman karami ng tuyo at suka ? 😔 Kelangan ko po ba mas marami tuyo kesa sa suka ? At nilalagyan ko din ng tubig gusto kase ni hubby mejo my sauce lalagay sa kanin Tips naman po pls ..
Ano po ba kinalabasan yung lasa sa ba? Tama naman na pareho amount ng suka at toyo pero dapat wag mo muna hahaluin pag naglagay ka na ng suka. Dapat pakuluin mo muna at least 15 to 30 minutes bago haluin para sumingaw yung suka. Mahihilaw kasi suka at aasim yung adobo.

Kailangang talaga vinegar pero hindi naman aasim yung adobo wag lang hahaluin agad.

It depends on what kind of ingredients you want to omit. For example, oyster sauce can be omitted but soy sauce cannot be omitted. 😁

I think you can add tomato sauce. I also have a recipe of chicken adobo with tomatoes. 😁
Emjee Patricia i find that adding fresh diced tomato (instead of paste) when the garlic/onion is near browned, before adding chicken prevents from burning if not using nonstick pan. Only adds to the flavor..doesn’t ruin it👍

Because it will dry up the sauce if you will not add water.

Yan ba tamang ratio ng tubig, suka at toyo? Nagluto ako recently, maalat daw hehe. Di na ulit ako nagluto ng adobo.
