You should always wear gloves when using a grinder one slip of a finger, and you're on your way to the ER. I know gloves won't always fully protect you, but a layer of fabric between you and the grinder can mean all the difference.
Yea, just got mine. Parts dont fit and the wheels suck. Vibrates like a sombitch. Otherwise the only good thing so far is that my gooseneck light works properly and the motor runs. no real surprise since it's made in give a damn china. Wen should be embarrassed that their name is on it. It will be my first and last wen product I buy. And yes, I got what I expected, just bought it because it was the only basic 6in grinder that has a gooseneck light. One wheel is so bad I may not be able to dress it up correctly. May have to buy another wheel. So wen, well, you know what I think.
@@NikGarage yea, that's pretty much it. It's just that with the wen name one would expect them to require a tad more quality. But instead it's a harbor freight tool painted orange and a wen label on it. If it had been a hf unit, I would be less disappointed. I was looking for a hf unit but that style was being changed over by hf and none locally. I could have saved some money also. So I chose wen and got hf. Thus my serious disappointment. I'm now looking for an older craftsman 6in grinder. My 8in craftsman grinder I bought new on sale was perfect out of the box. It cost almost the same as the wen.
@@ajbowers44 well, that's a good question actually. I wanted a 6 in grinder with a gooseneck light. Most now have those stupid led lights. I looked at hf but my local hf no longer had any. The one in another town had them as hf is discontinuing them for the ones with led lights. Everyone is doing it. No way I was going that far to get a hf one when I could just go to home depot and order it and pick it up. The wen has a gooseneck light. So I basically got the wen because it had the light but that I stupidly thought with that name I may get something a bit better. In the end I just got an orange pos.
Yeah. For most people, this WEN bench grinder is good enough.
Yeah, it's not an LED light, it's a compact fluorescent bulb, but it's still not a hot bulb.

What size is the spacer you used to attach the wheel brush?
Half inch spacer.
Quick question please: do you recommend it for kitchen knifes or no pls? Thank you.
No I would not.
Any update? Would you still buy this grinder all over again?
I would buy a 12 inch grinder. This one isn’t powerful enough for me.
Those type light bulbs are dangerous. I wouldn’t use those …. I threw everyone I had away
Yeah almost 100% chance that bulb will break the glass is super thin and the gas inside is unhealthy best to go to an led bulb for machine lighting..
Thank you great little grinder

It’s a hit or miss with these Chinese tools.

@@georgecurtis6463 you hold Wen to a higher standard than harbor freight?!
