This video is brilliant. The best I've found on vocal effects. The demos you did were spot on showing the difference betweenn effects on and off. I really learned loads. thank you for making it.
Thats really kind of you bud, much appreciated 👍🏼
Thumbs up for the take on me alone lol. Also very informative. Nobody ever uses examples. I appreciate them!
This is one of the best narrative video of definition and demonstration I have seen. Executed with a knowledgable well presented professional examples of all individual aspects of the product in detail delivered with a unique contemporary personality.....Excellent!!
Thanks so much for your comment, really glad you liked it 😃👍🏼
This video is a gem with all the advice for live singing. The song examples couldnt be more apt. You could tell hes a real pro. I've learnt more from watching this than other pedal reviews. Cheers
Thanks you dude, really glad to be of help 😃👍🏼

Usha Morrison Channel its a grand thing! 😃
Didn't think anyone could simplify it more than I'd heard it in the past. Great job, sir.
I thank you kindly m’lord 🙏🏻
This is good stuff, demonstrated with proper singing as well which makes all the difference
geespar1 ah thanks, glad its been of some help 😃
A great educational video - very informative. I must say, from your appearance, the last thing I was expecting was A-Ha. But all of the vocal examples were well-chosen and excellently performed. You nailed it! 🙂
Ah thanks buddy, really glad you liked it 😃👍🏼
Your singing is awesome
Cheers bud, thank you 😊
Geez! Wow! This video just turned up on my feed. So I had a listen. I’m a bassist who’s spent a considerable amount of time relearning guitar. I’m an older guy now & my beautiful kids are good & gone, so now I want to spend the rest of my life in music. I’ve arrived at the fact once again that I’m going to have to do some singing if I’m to go solo for now. I prefer band. I can stay in tune ok but I’m not a strong singer. I’ve just been a backing vocalists at jams. I pulled my VL3X out of the closet not long ago & I was going hmmm okay what can I do. I started a search. A few days later I found this simple, down to earth & very inspirational video lesson of yours. It’s just totally changed my approach. Thank you soo much🙏You have no idea what that just did for me….hahahaha honestly!
Keep up the good work sir! This world is definitely in need of replenishing. Time for some good fresh and tasty Vibes again. Screw cancel culture!
Ah thank you for the message dude, really glad its been of help and wish you much success in this next stage of your life. Its a good way to spend the rest of your days 😃😃💪🏼🎸🎤
Your voice sounded DOPE on the U2 song!!!
Jeremy Mercado thanks man, that’s really kind of you
Found a vocal coach that actually sounds amazing and can explain things like a normal person and not like a wizard ahahah❤
P.s.
You have a very good voice tone, kudos
Very informative thanks man
Cheers buddy, glad its been of help
Awesome information aside, take a moment to appreciate this guys amazing voice
🙏🏻 you are most kind
Your explanation of the compressor was the best I have heard. You made the concept completely understandable and with the addition of your performance, one can hear how the compressor works. Bravo!
Ah thanks dude, compressors can be a proper delve down the rabbit hole to understand..but normal mortals like us dont need that level of brain fry lol
well said!! I agree!
Finally a succinct explanation of sound effects. No ego, just a fun relaxed and educational session, thank you! I could do with your services now to help me decide what to use on each song 😂😂
Ah thank you for the message, really means a lot :) its really tricky when it comes to using different effects for different songs. I find a good thing to keep in mind is keeping a good core sound, then adding in effects when you need it. Other wise sonically, if the voice changes too much during a live performance it kinda throws peoples ears off. I tend to have a base effect with a bit of reverb as my standard, then bring in some extra verb for power ballads, maybe harmonies when i need it and some doubling and delays in certain phrases for effect.
Thats just my way of doing things, but the world would be boring if we all did things the same lol
@@Vonbeardingham thank you for taking the time to reply. Do you think the pedal you are using is suitable for a novice (not a novice singer but a novice at anything sound tech related)? I have looked at the Boss VE 20 but I have no idea what I am looking at! Lastly (sorry!), is the ear monitor the equivalent to me having my own amp so I can hear myself? if so, any recommendation? Thanks again
ok pedal wise, I'm not too familiar with the boss range, I'm a tc-helicon man myself and for someone who's starting out with singing tech i really rate the voicelive play. Its a small unit, lots of patches and simple but useful effects to use. In-ear monitoring systems mean that you get to hear yourself much clearer as the ear-buds block out more of the sound of the band onstage. It means you dont have to have a monitor onstage, you dont have to try and be heard over the rest of the band and you can put in as little or as much of other musicians as you like if they are mic'd up into your earphone mix. it basically means you can tailor the sound to sing too exactly how you like it. Its a life and voice saver for any singer :)
Hey man, thank you sooooo much for doing this vid, just what I was after. Recently got myself a vocal pedal so Im looking forward to trying it out with our set list. Some really good advice here, great voice too. Thanks again.
Phil Buckthorpe thanks dude, it does make such a difference using effects. Let me know how you get on with it 👍🏼

Bro was not fucking around with the choice of songs 👍
Haha, thanks buddy

technology is the ultimate turd polisher lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I HAVE LEARNED A LOT! YOURE SUCH A GENIUS!SUBSCRIBED ALREALDY!😇💜
Ah you are most kind and thank you for the subscription 😃🙏🏻
all this time, I thought I just naturally sound dry and cannot make covers but reverbs can make me sound.. alive!
Its a beauitiful thing! good effects use really brings out a voice, its like when you saw your first blu-ray after watching normal Dvds...same film, but the clarity just went up 10 fold!
So educational man. What we often seek on UA-cam and rarely actually find! Awesome!!!
thats a lovely compliment, thank you very much :)
Damn... Been performing since '79. Schooled. Thank you sir, and "you yourself" and "I" on the harmonizer! hahaha
Wow, I came here for some info.. didn't know I was gonna hear such a great voice! Awesome!
Ah dude you are most kind 🙏🏻
Excellent video and an excellent voice, take a bow buddy.
You are most kind my friend 🙏🏻
Amazing voice and amazing tutorial. Great for a newbie trying to learn.
Thanks bud, nice to know its helpful to people 😃
This is the best explanation/example of compression (a very boring subject) on UA-cam.
Thank you buddy…yeah the ins and outs of compression are a bit of a snore fest lol.
i’m really glad to see this
@@camara1194 glad you stopped by 😃👍🏼
I really needed this. I’m a singer/songwriter and I’m wanting to get involved with this and I find people use these terms so passively but I don’t understand any of this so to hear it elucidated as well as having examples is greatly appreciated. The haze became clear.
Awesome man, glad its been of help 👍🏼
Amazing video, nicely done. And I'm only 6mins in. Thank you for sharing!!
thank you for watching and commenting 😀
Great job, man!!!....and good info. Thanks!
Plesaure dude ☺️👍🏼
Every now and then I come back to this video and it helps me a lot
that is awesome :) love that!
Excellent overview of effects with great examples! Thanks!
thomas grim thanks bud, appreciate it 😊
Great Presentation. Music Fans, not just Singers, should watch this video. Most think every Professional Singer is amazing and can naturally add these effects to their voice. A good Sound Setup can make most people sound pretty good and good Singers sound great. I have Sung with and without these effects and it is clear when the Soundman or Karaoke DJ does not know about these effects.
Very true!
I am now just seeing this video. And by far you showed and performed them the best. I have watched alot vocal videos from professional vocal coaches and sound engineers but you are very good teacher.
Jeremynolan815 Nolan thats really kind of you, thank you very much
Expected a rock start.. got A-Ha, well done, had me smiling :) Very informatiive, thnx.
Thank you for this great video - and your superb singing!
And thank you for the comment 🙏🏻
voice effects processors 101. The simplest explanations we can hear, thank you sir

thank you so much for this video! I'm so happy to find out about the existence of harmony pedals, and I didn't realise how effective compression can be
Theres a lot of great stuff out there, really glad this was of help 😃👍🏼
You are very good AND with a great voice!
And you are very kind 🙏🏻
Thank you, this video tells me I have work to do and where to put my efforts.
Thanks for watching buddy, glad to be of any help 😃👍🏼

This is really a superior video. First, you are a very talented singer so that is a lot of fun. But just as importantly, your use of compare / contrast examples is perfect for illustrating your points. Great stuff! Good luck to you building your channel. You're bringing real value to the internet.
J L thanks very much, thats really kind of you to say 😃

Thank you! Finally found a demo of each effects. I messed up on fine tuning of each effects since i dont know how they sound. Btw im using my guitar multi-effect pedal. Subbed. 🥺👍
They arent ideal for vocals, but you can get some awesome real dirty sounds with them 😃👍🏼
one of the best videos....other people talk too much...you get to it...
Thanks bud, i try not to waffle too much, doesnt always work lol
Thank you for this video. I just started singing some backups and wanted to learn about live effects to clean up my voice a little. Now I have a much better understanding of the types of effects would work best for my needs. This was extremely helpful.
Singing backup was where i started as well, its a great way of dipping your oar in the water without having to take on the whole scary frontman roll straight away. Glad it was of help 👍🏼
What a great demonstration, man!
Thank you so much for the video! You're truly an entertainment man! The funniest one around.
Keep it up, sir. Great help!
Thanks buddy, really glad it was of help 😃👍🏼

No worries buddy, hope it goes well 😃👍🏼
Thank you sooooo much! Best/most helpful vocals demo I've seen.
Awesoe, glad it was of help 😃👍🏼
Delay & Reverb gets you the Live stadium Led Zeppelin Immigrant Song shout vocals. Anyway, Reverb, Delay, Compression & Chorus are the Big 4 for me.
I work with a Group in July that covered I.S. on their latest album,... Ive worked with them before..and heard Zep from them before...(insert Manical Evil Laugh HERE>>>)... I cant wait to hear it LIVE...
Gracias Mike !!! 😘
Yes finally someone that gives me the answer straight forward Thanks :D
I was searching for the effects thanks for showing everything that I wanted to find

DivineFeather YT ah thanks, really glad i was of some help 😃
thanks for the side by side comparison very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Just started exploring this topic and I'm glad I came upon this video first thing. Awesome introduction on vocal effects, and very well presented. Obviously, a video about audio needs to have good audio itself in order to demonstrate the differences, and yours nailed it. And for a bonus, excellent entertainment value; you had me lol multiple times. Thanks for the lesson man.
Ah thanks dude, really glad its been of help 😃👍🏼
