Best combination for those who want natural vocals and not robotic ones : Wavetunes realtime with soft autotune you barely hear and then polish it with a manual autotune like Waves tune or Melodyne, if you're not accurate with your voice take the time with your plugins that's the only way. Also be sure to record in proper conditions, you need a good room around NC25 or less if you can, otherwise use a dynamic mic with a good preamp because you wouldn't want to pitch the noise that would sound really really bad. Other thing don't be close-mic, because of the proximity effect the sound of your voice will be really bassy and you don't want that when you tune a voice, it's too easy to recognise, be at least half your arm away from the mic and use a pop filter half way (as far as possible from the mic, stop sticking it!!!) because having pops pitched is also not natural as we all have it in the same frequencies, having a clean recording will really help doing the trick trust me. Waves plugins are a gold mine for all Sound Engineers out there, you just gotta know how they work.
This video is literally hard evidence that your comment is false. Huge L. Vocoder, auto tune and modulators are way too overhated which, funny enough, has resulted in them being underrated.
I love how Autotune just turns a shitty vocal recording into a stupidly robotic sounding vocal recording, while the other plugin creates something completely new that's only based on, but doesn't contain anything of the original voice, yet Autotune is the plug in that's considered 'cheating' by a lot of singers and fans. 😂
I recorded am entire song, did the vocals myself, spent days trying to precisely tune it with Waves Tune, and nearly destroyed my laptop because I can't make it seem even halfway decent.
Don't follow this tutorial. It's wrong! You don't find the key of your voice but the key of the instrumental! That's what you put in so your vocals match the key.
Wow. The days of retakes ‘til you get it right & bouncing tracks onto analogue tape to make room for more tracks is…generations & worlds away. But I’m so glad I experienced them. I started in the industry very young. I still have my multitrack tape masters somewhere…
After watching the first few seconds, I now believe I can also sing, thanks for giving me the confidence, ama continue with the video now haha. I guess my friends were jelous when they told me I should stick to school. better yet, I'll adition for X factor, but I'll bring my fl studio with me. lol
thanks for the tutorial! Shared it with the Vocal Synth community :) I know a lot of folks within said community try to get the vocals perfect within the synths before mixing, but I love tuts like this that help make even the "crappy" voicebanks shine.
Sounds very good, though the default autotuning program in fl studio (pitcher) can do the same and if you have a lot more time, you could use newtone to manually shift the notes around to a note in the chord
I learned much from this video! Also it's the very similar or even the same effect I was looking for. It sounds like the one WoodenToaster used in his tracks! Thanks once more! :DD
You need to use Melodine. It's industry standard and u can MOVE the pitch of a word to the correct note. It also automatically corrects the note if it's FLAT or SHARP so the note is in tune. U can adjust the smoothness of that transition so it doesn't sound like a Microsoft robot. You literally can just SAY the words of the song, then drag that word to the correct note pitch that u want. If u can't reach a high note, no problem just sing the note as high as u can comfortably and in tune, then go back, use the slider and put it to the correct note. Simple as that 😆 it's like taking a middle C and going one octive higher and that's it. No real effort needed now days. Plus can do effects if u want as well. Reverb etc.
" It's industry standard" this doesn't mean anything. Autotune is even more used in the industry. Autotune can also do all of the things you menntion: it has a manual edit mode to MOVE the pitch of a word to the correct note, it can automatically correct sharp/flat based on a set key, and you can set the transition time so it doesn't sound like a robot.
@@foljs5858 industrial standard means everything buddy otherwise u have quality that's like crap. 😆 Son think before u smoke up that keyboard with that novel we didn't ask for. I said what I said
for those who didn't win the givewaway, the melda plugins bundle (specifically the autopitch and compressor) can get this effect, along with a vocoder for the harmony side.
tbh, I think auto-tune sounds absolutely horrific, but I guess it's still better than what the original singing sounded like... 😅 But it's definitely worth it to learn singing or hire a good singer.
The title should be how to make epic robot vocals... Don't get me wrong, this is cool, if you like the very old "Cher Style", still so trendy, thanks to AutoTune. But, believe me, you can make a good natural Human vocals using Melodyne, with a little experience with this tool or other alternative. You can tune your singing, make natural transitions and bends between each note, enhance or add vibrato and so on. An then add compression, delay, reverbs... It really depends if you're looking for a natural, in tune vocals, or a Cher Style, robotic vocals.
To be honest with effects it sound like someone having a metal bucket put on head. First vocal - if it would be sing in tune, would sound much better actually.
Im laughing my head off as Arcade is very entertaining but his tutorial turns out amazing in the end. Luckly i got harmony engine on discount so this tutorial will be helpful for my attempt on my out of tune vocals lol

Making a voice sound like a robot isn't "fixing" or "improving" it..

It’s called vocoding, and it does make it better in my opinion

This is a huge improvement. But these effects have even a bigger effect on someone who already sings well
That Harmony Engine sounds like an old school vocoder box. Love the FX and that sound.

@@KordTaylor yeah but that isn't necessary for this tutorial
@808 it does the job for this tutorial, I even did it with pitcher and found very similar results
@808 I mean, they are not the best but with some well recorded vocals, it can be really good.
@808 true I tried it myself it sucks they sound it makes it bad
You sang “wooder” (water) like a true Philadelphian. Not many can pull that off. But seriously, I enjoyed the video, thanks!

Yes it‘s cool. But we want our vocals not vocoded, only tuned!
vocoded sounds much better and artistic. nobody cares for tuned vocals.
It's all sounding synthetic - just like autotune sounded 23 years ago. Can you make it sound more natural?
No hate bro but these vocals still sound awful😅

It's not about singing it's about singing in rhythm 🥴
Can we have a tutorial on how you made the music in this track. That sounds damn cool :D

the autotune one: this is my real voice

It would be nice to know do this in FL studio original pluggins. Good video by the way✌️🔥
you can recreate the Vocal stack with fl studios own Vocoder. its similar, and has a beautiful effect.
Newtone to manually adjust the pitch of individual words, Pitcher to add real-time adjustment, Vocoder to add harmonies, hope this helps!
