Ngannou doesn't have the gas tank for this. There's a reason everyone knew what was coming and no one could stop it. Khabib is strong, but not crazy strong. What Khabib has that no one else has (at least to that extent): - an absurd gas tank; - elite grappling drilled since he was an infant; - elite discipline and dedication. Ngannou barely has any grappling and will never come close to the endurance either. His muscles are too huge and burn too much energy.

I don't think any rematches were warranted. I'd have watched the shit out of them 100% but they didn't need to happen. I believe the results would've been the same every single time. Everyone who fought him knew exactly what Khabib was going to be trying to do going into the fight, his gameplan was no secret and it never changed. These guys all knew the chances of Khabib standing and trading strikes with them were virtually 0, so they essentially had entire fight camps to prepare specifically for Khabib's grappling and wrestling, and they still got vaporized by way of them on fight night. I don't think any significant adjustments could have even been made in most cases. In my opinion, it all boiled down to nobody in the division having an answer for Khabib at the time. They get mauled trying to wrestle with him, they get smashed trying to grapple with him, they fail trying to land anything meaningful on him because he doesn't let the fight stay on the feet long enough for them to, and they either get submitted or go night night when he finds an opening. And when he inevitably secures the takedown on them they have to choose if they're going to waste their precious energy trying to get back up or just stay on the ground and focus exclusively on not letting him lock them into a submission until the end of the round, with the former of which leading to them gassing out and the latter to them losing the round and a potential 10-8

He, along with many other fighters on the UFC roster, are "big af" for their weight class. 🤷🏽♂️ Why would any fighter in 'MIXED' Martial Arts, not fight to their strengths? But, if you actually watch some of Khabibs fights, he does stand and kickbox. For example, he showed in the Conor fight that he can stand and box. He pretty much stood in front of Mcgregor and traded. This, against one of the best strikers in the UFC. He used his brain though, he tired Conor out first with his wrestling, then boxed him. And, unless Khabib decides to take up 'pure' wrestling, we'll never know. If he'd ended up fighting Chandler before retirement, I think it would've been one of his toughest. Remember though, Khabib only lost 3, maybe 4, rounds his entire career, so despite the fight being a good one, Khabib still wouldn't have major problems beating him. And I think Chandler is a beast. His fights are kill or be killed. But, tactically, its not good. That's why Gaethje changed his approach and became more technical. It was a big factor in the win against Chandler. Put your dislike of Khabob aside for a bit, and watch all his fights in the UFC.

The weight bully argument has absolutely no logic behind it. First of all cutting weight is one of the most intense experience an athlete can go through therefore it would be a disadvantage from khabib if he was cutting so much weight. Secondly every MMA fighter is naturally 1 or 2 weight classes above the weight they are fighting. So there natural fight class is 1 or 2 below there walk around weight. It's not bullying it's just the sport. Porier is a natural Welter weight, Chandler, Gilbert, Khabib. But they all competed in Lightweight as that is what's natural. I don't think any rematches were warranted. I'd have watched the shit out of them 100% but they didn't need to happen. I believe the results would've been the same every single time. Everyone who fought him knew exactly what Khabib was going to be trying to do going into the fight, his gameplan was no secret and it never changed. These guys all knew the chances of Khabib standing and trading strikes with them were virtually 0, so they essentially had entire fight camps to prepare specifically for Khabib's grappling and wrestling, and they still got vaporized by way of them on fight night. I don't think any significant adjustments could have even been made in most cases. In my opinion, it all boiled down to nobody in the division having an answer for Khabib at the time. They get mauled trying to wrestle with him, they get smashed trying to grapple with him, they fail trying to land anything meaningful on him because he doesn't let the fight stay on the feet long enough for them to, and they either get submitted or go night night when he finds an opening. And when he inevitably secures the takedown on them they have to choose if they're going to waste their precious energy trying to get back up or just stay on the ground and focus exclusively on not letting him lock them into a submission until the end of the round, with the former of which leading to them gassing out and the latter to them losing the round and a potential 10-8

Why would any fighter in 'MIXED' Martial Arts, not fight to their strengths? But, if you actually watch some of Khabibs fights, he does stand and kickbox. For example, he showed in the Conor fight that he can stand and box. He pretty much stood in front of Mcgregor and traded. This, against one of the best strikers in the UFC. He used his brain though, he tired Conor out first with his wrestling, then boxed him.
And, unless Khabib decides to take up 'pure' wrestling, we'll never know. If he'd ended up fighting Chandler before retirement, I think it would've been one of his toughest. Remember though, Khabib only lost 3, maybe 4, rounds his entire career, so despite the fight being a good one, Khabib still wouldn't have major problems beating him. And I think Chandler is a beast. His fights are kill or be killed. But, tactically, its not good. That's why Gaethje changed his approach and became more technical. It was a big factor in the win against Chandler.
Put your dislike of Khabob aside for a bit, and watch all his fights in the UFC.

Guys styles make fights, we all know Chandler should theoretically lose since he lost to Poirier and Gaethje. The weight bully argument has absolutely no logic behind it. First of all cutting weight is one of the most intense experience an athlete can go through therefore it would be a disadvantage from khabib if he was cutting so much weight. Secondly every MMA fighter is naturally 1 or 2 weight classes above the weight they are fighting. So there natural fight class is 1 or 2 below there walk around weight. It's not bullying it's just the sport. Porier is a natural Welter weight, Chandler, Gilbert, Khabib. But they all competed in Lightweight as that is what's natural. No such thing as weight bully, they are weight perfectionists.
