  • Don't worry, after the video I smoothed out the holes and painted the speaker black like in the thumbnail.

Waaa, finally I found a video on this issue. Thanks a lot sir for your techniques.

concept works with bluetooth only headphones as well.

Hi Sir, I've been searching for such a video from a long time. Thank you a million tons.
However, if the output is too big, say in the range of upto 2 or 3 watts and the impedance of the speakers are very small, like 8 or 4 ohms, how to step down the impedance of the amplifier to 16 ohms?

Since I skipped the amplifier for jack output, it worked just fine with standard headphones (I tested both 32 and 16 Ohms earpiece). If you mean the output of the amplifier, XPT9302 datasheet says it's amplifies 3W@4Ohms, but if I'm not mistaken, for higher impedances and lower supply voltage it will be simply less effective. I'm not even sure what was the impedance of the built-in speaker, but I would guess that it was either 8 or 16 Ohms, so it was just quieter and amplifier wasn't talking so much power. If it would run at full 3W, then the battery would be draining at 600mA (if it works at 5V), which is not possible because this little speaker lasted for about 2-3 hours with about 80mAh battery (so the circuitry used about 110mW or 30mA).

      @@pandaengineering thank you again.
I have Tin T2 IEMs and they are 16 ohms and are very good with even poorly amplified audio. However, I was wondering as to how I could make a simple amplifier that won't fry these amazing little iems.
I have a very old cteative desktop powered speakers. Was wondering how I could convert that into a headphone amplifier. Do you have any suggestions, please?
Wish you a very good life ahead.

Direct output from the chip (or via some components like here to make it noise-free) in those Bluetooth receivers is enough for driving most headphones so just skip the the amplifier altogether. You can easily control the volume from the phone.
      Take care 😄

@@pandaengineering thanks again. I am not looking at bluetooth but a complete wired method.
Since I am very new to audio components and technology behing, I am still experimenting.
If the amplifier owers a 2 inch 4 ohm speaker at 1 watt per channel capacity, what will happen if i use the speaker output to directly plug in my 16 ohms iem?
Will the iem burn and blow out?

    I have a XENEO X21 Speaker .
I had Bluetooth mode / FM radio mode / and micro SD card playback function mode .
    Great little sounding speaker .
Just wish it had a headphone output jack . 😢 .
It DOES have an Auxiliary input 3.5 mm port .
Can THAT port be resoldered to the board to become a headphone jack ?
    Thanks .

The problem is that if you still want to use it as a speaker, (apart from modding the output like here) you would have to have a way to switch between a speaker and headphone out. It means that you would have to add extra switch that at least would disable the speaker and solder inline the headphone out. Maybe be tricky to implement as the input jack would also have to be removed completely from it's current connections (ex. flip upside down to solder new ones). Really depends on how much space there is inside the case ☺️

Hi. Can I use a soundcard on a bluetooth speaker to use earphone? I wanna use memory card on the speaker and hear it in earphone,

Can i remove mic and add mic input jack will it work

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  2 роки тому

Sure 🙂 as long as you plan to also use a capacitive mic (phone headset will be ideal) it will work perfectly, but don't expect massive improvements in quality (it will be still better than whatever mic they put in those BT speakers).

I didn't seen one either, but you can try adding 4 pole 3.5mm jack socket to it and add external microphone support this way if there is no difference between microphone ground and left and right channel. To be honest I didn't tied that yet. If you do, make sure to never press the button on the headset as it shorts mic input to ground 😉
