      The first BMS you were going to use is not only 5s. It can be modified from 3s-5s. In that BMS the minus terminal was shorted to the B1 with a 0 ohm resistor, that means it is 4S. If you want to use it as 3s then you need to short the minus, B1 and B2

      @@ELECTRONOOBS Yeah, that BMS is a very good one and can draw 100A(manufacturer claim). This video was very helpful btw.

      To be honest you should focus more into the quality of the product. Use proper mounts to hold the battery pack without using hot glue. And please don’t use solder iron to make holes in the plastic. That is not professional. Solder iron is used for soldering not for drilling. Next time please use a drill machine. And also my point of view, I think it is a bad idea to use that wool material like you showed in the video. Even though you use a BMS there might have a chance, things to go bad (like a fire). Its better if you can isolate wool from the battery.
      Other than that, this is a good video.

      Yeah I might make some as well in the future. But it will have to be a maybe, since I don't have a spot welder or 3D printer (this version), nor do I have a CNC tool (DIY Perks version).

    • @nathan1sixteen
      @nathan1sixteen 2 роки тому

      @@TheSpotify95 You really don’t need any of those. You can find a plethora of small speaker boxes online to download and cutout by hand. They don’t have to be fancy and curved, they can just be cubes or rectangles. Heck, you could design your own, just make sure you make the box the right size for the speaker, then cut it out by and and glue it together. Also, just get an 18650 battery holder and you eliminate the spot welder

    You can solve the Noise Interference when using same battery with a ground loop isolator like B0505S-1W DC-DC. and also i would suggest you add a switch between the earbuds and amplifier to interrupt the annoying voice prompt at startup.

    Beautiful result ! I finished a mono speaker based on a tda2030 yesterday , I used speakers from an old TV and for the power I've used an atx psu that was laying around , the sound isn't too bad when it's working but if it's not plugged in the noise is horrible. I should have made a proper power supply for it .

    I think that this is a great project. I think that the speakers are out of phase. The easy way to know is that if one speaker sounds "so" loud and the other speaker by itself also sounds "so " loud it should sound like just over 2 speakers and thus be "soso" loud. But this does not take away from the excellent job you did. Thanks.

    Really cool idea, I think I will make one for myself. Some problems/improvements I see for others:
    1) Your midrange is not mechanically isolated from the woofer. Might want make an internal enclosure inside. Could also damage them otherwise. Plus you could be losing some bass right now.
    2) I could be wrong but I think you might lose some response due to polarize caps. You could put two eletroytic caps in series in + - - + configuration, or invest in more expensive non-polarized caps.
    3) Resistor-divider network from main battery for zero noise power to the earbuds since they take very little power anyway (less than led).
    4) Case could be reinforced with epoxy+sand(1part-epoxy-10-part-sand) which is an amazing acoustic barrier, and can make very deep base possible if case is designed for some good resonance frequency.
    5) Could add a small piezo or coil based tweeter for proper high frequencies, or maybe a smaller midrange which usually can perform better at higher frequencies.

    11:22 Or maybe u can connect negative from earbuds to amplifier negative power input and positive from earbuds to positive from first li-ion battery from the bms.
    And to remove push buttons, u can program 2 attiny85 / attiny 13a to send a pulse to optocouplers(which is connected instead push switches), but just for 500ms at the power on.
    I hope that's helpful! :)
    BTW: This is a great and interesting project.

    I did the same with less parts and better speakers at 50 watts at 4 ohms. Only now thanks that we think the same I also thought of Bluetooth headset as the source and separate amplifier. At 4.5 volts and yes direct to the input on the amplifier. The amplifier is 12 volt model with a micro class d chip. Cost was less than one hundred dollars. And I put two high quality crossovers that make the sound very good.

    How do you charge the forth cell that is powering the airbud? I know that 18650 would last a few weeks of playing but still? Is there a 5v charging module after a step down? There are 3sBMS charges with 5v inputs available. I wonder if I connect that in series with a dedicated charger for a single cell, would that also create a ground loop like it did when you powered the earbud and the amp from the 4s pack? maybe i'll add a switch or install two separate usb-c charging ports. I saw many videos where the get away with a single battery for both bluetooth and the amp using some 4 pin module.

      If you have a place to put the Bluetooth/amp board, then yes. If you don’t need the AM/FM tuner then I’m sure a weaker BT board will fit somewhere in there. You’d also need to check what kind of power the BT board needs to see if the batteries you already have will suffice.

    • @JosephQPublic
      @JosephQPublic 2 роки тому

      If I understand correctly, you already have wires ran to the speaker drivers and a potential power supply, so really you just need the BT board/module. It should be able to power the speAker drivers by itself without an amplifier, so you’d need to find a BT module/amp that would fit in the ear muffs.
