My dad and i just opened up our own Transport business and let me tell yall, man it was and still is hectic. I didnt know anything about trucking except the basics of how a truck works but i never knew the rate negotiating part of it. The dispatch part, the "buy permits, become an LLC. DO NOT OPPERATE UNDER SOLE PROPRIETARY. Establish your business, get your drivers drug tested before they drive. Enroll with a consortium, create a company policy, have pre employment for your driver's. Get insurance" man ive learned a lot. I went from fixing acs for 3 years straight to helping my dad run the business. I run the business and he just chills at home. And im only 24 years and I go to college studying Diesel Tech so Diesel tech classes do come in handy. I know how diesel engines work now. I know what truck to buy, not just because of the brand but because of the engine it carries. I know what engines are worth investing money in and I know how to take an engine apart and reassemble it. 2020 might of been a bad year for most but for me it has been a life changer. He mentioned Seymour indiana, my home town. We got a T/A here off 65. Pomp's tire and a Best Way repair shop. The T/A caught fire and burned a couple months back. They're rebuilding it now.
My partner and I are going to take the leap of faith and officially start our trucking company. He already purchased a sleeper for $30K and is working on finishing his CDL. He has an agent and all we are waiting for it to find a driver with a clean record and 2-years of experience. He kind of jumped the gun by being too excited and bought the truck before doing a lot of research so I'm taking my time and learning the game and I think in about 30 days of watching videos, learning how to broker freight, and talking to live truckers and really building a roadmap to success I will be ready to purchase my truck. I'm going to pay cash for the sleeper, I have about $30K saved up and have seen some good prices here in ATL. Hearing that somebody owns 50 trucks is really inspiring because that's really an empire aka king shit and hearing somebody have enough cash on hand to spend $50K on a show truck when they could go to the auction and buy a Bentley or Lambo to stunt with that shows not only passion for your hustle but it shows how much money that you can make. So I know running a successful trucking business as an owner or owner-operator isn't easy but face it if you have your game laid down right you can make more money than the average corporate executive. I know because I have an MBA and executive experience in the corporate world. This is more feasible, there's something more manly about being your own boss anyway. :)

I originally watch this video when it first came out before I bought my first truck. I’m not re-watching it again for the third time and I’ve owned my truck since October.Everything he said was 1000% true and correct. We need more people like this to give the game to people who are just getting started but I am very grateful that this interview was done. When I first watched I didn’t know any of the specific things he talked about the cat motor I didn’t know anything about the gear ratio I didn’t know anything about transmissions I don’t know anything. But now I know literally everything he was talking about and I also on the 3406E myself.

I've been so burnt out on work going for my owner operator in been inspired again now I'm hungry for more great video
dude come out here and get it!
I get burned out every quarter and thats why I take 2 weeks off per. so I know what u mean!! have time to yourself IT CANT ALWAYS BE TRUCK TRUCK TRUCK.
He got him a beautiful truck, my late uncle had a Petersbuilt truck hwr drive all his life. I believe its passed down to his son before he was murded. Peterbuilts are great trucks I want a Kenworth too I heard they are great trucks as well. Love this vid
yea kdubs are my fav
He got him?
He mentioned Seymour indiana, my home town. We got a T/A here off 65. Pomp's tire and a Best Way repair shop. The T/A caught fire and burned a couple months back. They're rebuilding it now.
This guy was next dock to me today yesterday at University Park
You have a great attitude buddy. I admire your approach. I love your truck as well. For a "work" truck, it's still dam nice!
This dude is cool. He seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. I think he is going to do well.
He is. Very cool
Very smart and savvy guy....would love to be an owner operator
save your chips and do it man!!
What a sharp guy. Great interviewer too.
Thank you we appreciate it
What a great Guy, he really knows his business.....respect from England 🇬🇧
🤣🤣🤣 Dude said 12” pipes bruh really. The most honest Owner Op I’ve seen. 👍 vid
Im happy that he took his time out to tell us bout owner operator hell I even hate otr so I'm trying to do like him
Great interview very respectful smart young man that is what our world is missing all the the best to you
Sounds like a good guy very humble👍
You have a very cool attitude and personality, brother. Keep up a good work and good habits!
When I was younger I polished aluminum, the 359 and 379 are the best looking trucks on the road
im more of a kw guy honestly lmao!!!
W9's
Each one teach one much appreciate it really. Truck straight GANGSTA!!!!
I got the hodgebuilt stainless fenders for the trailer I JUST DONT FEEL LIKE GETTING THE WELDER OUT THE SHOP and my big generator. they'll be on before winter though!!!
My dad was owner operator of 5 trucks, had 4 drivers and drove one himself. Since I could walk I was around trucks. I'm a police officer myself, much respect to owner operators. 🙋
Dope interview. Wish this guy had a youtube channel
I HATE THE CAMERA lmao 🤣 I'm the dude in the back of the club being all shy lmao
@@tomlynch7097 you gave so much good information
@@tomlynch7097 : That's a cool surname you have, "Lynch" is not American name, perhaps your Dad has roots in Scotland/ Ireland? Just wondering.
Good video interview ✔
Lots of great information, and advice. Especially for brand new possible owner operators.
This was a really great interview. What impressed me the most was the realness in the information shared. He was not hyping the trucking industry, he spoke on having real knowledge about the mechanics of trucks, being creative, having good credit and having a support system. Just the type of stuff a newbie needs.
I'm with ya 9 yrs strong💪🏾
I originally watch this video when it first came out before I bought my first truck. I’m not re-watching it again for the third time and I’ve owned my truck since October.Everything he said was 1000% true and correct. We need more people like this to give the game to people who are just getting started but I am very grateful that this interview was done. When I first watched I didn’t know any of the specific things he talked about the cat motor I didn’t know anything about the gear ratio I didn’t know anything about transmissions I don’t know anything. But now I know literally everything he was talking about and I also on the 3406E myself.
whats up y'all its me the owner tell Seb if ya want more lmao.
don't mean to be a party pooper but just preaching facts 💯!!!
goood blessings
It looks like y'all are in the Chicagoland area
Did you say that using paper logs when running under your own authority will make your insurance more expensive?
Hey brother, whats your name on Facebook ?
@@BrantleyBlended I got a old truck and I op in the 150mile zone but some of the old timers REAL OUTLAWS refuse to run elog!
when you have your own auth ive heard you can alter all lines!!!
even if I had a new truck I wouldn't be running elog
if a fucking surgeon can op on ppl with no rest GUESS WHAT...
@@BrantleyBlended to answer your? older equipment makes insurance more
having an elog will decrease my premium for sure but I pay money where it counts if you know what I mean!!
Just bought my 97 pete 379 exhd for 10k still working on some small things should be ready soon
get er done!!!
Awsome 👍 I wanna ask you a question my friend,I wanna start trucking & im planning striking for my cld license,Should i drive for a company as a beginner or should i buy my own truck & which truck?
@@pdswrld5200 i have that same question
@@pdswrld5200 NOOOOO PLEASE DO NOT get your license from a mega company. you will have to sign the dotted line...if you get my drift.
olive Harvey has a class and u can get a grant!!!! WHAT I DID:
studied 1 week got permit
went to professional truck driving school in summit IL
I already knew how to drive been driving since I was a kid, so I got my license in 2 weeks ALSO BECAUSE I HAD MY PERMIT ALREADY SO THE WRITTEN PORTION WAS DONE!!!.
called many companies because my license was fucked from street racing AND FINALLY SWIFT GAVE ME THE CHANCE!!!
Really appreciate this video , the time & energy put into it and most importantly the knowledge shared !! Thank you !!!
So i learned some valuable key things today. Don't lease with Swift or JB hunt because they'll try to pry you into staying and never paying off the truck. That's stuff people need to know especially starting out lol
Pure gold, thank you brother 💯
Thanks for watching Steve!
This is one of the best talking men I've ever heard. He has a smart head on his shoulders and one sharp ass truck and trailer be safe driver hope to see you pass by one day till then keep it between the lines we're be seeing u bro
Refer is a pain but it pays the best..I've been doing this since 04...nice 379 .
YES IT SUCKS LINEAGE HAD MY TRAILER FOR 20HOURS motherfuckers

Pretty new owner operator here and enjoying your channel.
Only the strong survive
Hello, thank you for your informative video, I’m a first time owner/operator, listening to other so,called truck owners have gotten me dead in the water ,with true lies ,you hit all the points on what not to do as first time owner operator. I’m a resident of California,I have subscribed to your vlog . Looking to go forward with your info . Thank you
I really didn't get a chance to go IN DEPTH i could talk ALL DAY AND NIGHT LOL I believe in honesty man a lot of guys on the tube inflate stuff YEs!!!
MILLION DOLLAR TRUCKING EMPIRE STUFF... lol. what happens when a piston comes out the block on 1 truck? a driver leaves your other truck at the petro and you have to go retrieve. what happens if you have two accidents in 1 day???
these are all variables that HAPPEN!!! know your cost per mile and know your worth
unfortunately ur in the commie state cali fuck them!!!
I like these more than the pod cast lol. Great info.
More to come!
Nice truck and seems like a really cool guy
Dude this is a very informative video.....thank you so much. I’m getting ready to buy my own truck.....this has truly helped me so much....I’m going to stay in flatbed.....but again thank you so so much...
What a great video , u both r great down to earth guys . Stay safe guys
Thanks Alan!
This young man has a great head on his shoulders very business oriented. Much respect 🤜🤛
Great information and great interview. I wish I could have heard this when I was younger and in the condition to drive over the road. Thanks for sharing.
“Chrome won’t get u home” 😂 i like that brotha👍🏾
A great interview with a knowledgeable young man who has history and some time under what he owns. Now find the guy who is pulling his hair out trying to get home and in one piece of mind or not doing as well. A older truck an needing a lot of help, down next to hauling cows for freight type a guy who has done most everything but knows that he could of done better if he had had support team and a knowledge of dispatchers
He definitely could scale faster, but his overhead is so minimal right now. Man definitely sleeps good!
@Morgan Great video, How are you doing
Hope we get to know each other with time and patience?
Great video! Wish you both the best.
Great interview. He's got a very nice set up, other then the hood mirror lol. Good job driva, stay safe.
a couple ppl have said that lol I don't care it has saved my ass plenty of times
