Playing with something similar! not the skeleton but trigger puppets with head movement. Instead of a ball joint we utilized a door spring but the way you've implements the rod at the back... that's great! Get well soon man, and thankyou for this video.
I've built two puppets with your hot glue gun tutorial but I hand sewed instead. They turned out pretty good for first time making them

I just got into puppet making and I finally finished my very first one! (I just added horns to it last night/this morning.) I referenced one of your monster puppet videos to make it!
I’ve always liked puppets and movie special effects such as the puppets from The Dark Crystal, Little Shop of Horrors, and the Gremlins, and Tim Burton’s stop motion. Suffice to say I want to make ‘creepy’ puppets. And although I had experience making monster plush toys, etc., puppetry was never something I tried before.
The one I made has no eyes on it’s head, just horns, but instead has an eye in its mouth that I tried to make a rod (inside) for to move it. So I had to ‘break some rules’ to get it to fit. The rod I could have made a lot better, but it functions well enough and they look great! Especially for my first puppet!
I call them Iris. :)
It’d be cool to see this on a larger scale, like those life sized skulls they sell around Halloween

There are some spots where I wish you'd slowed down a little more and showed how you made the attachments. For example, what keeps the string on the lower jaw from pulling loose? Is it clamped in any way, and if so, how?

not all puppeteers embed the arm rods. i prefer them not embedded and detatchable. id hve just put seprate eyelets in the hands or even might have hot glued velcro tabs so as to make the armrods detatchable.
