Yes, I live in Australia and Yes, my friends and family occasionally let spiders onto their hands. Half of us just love spiders for some reason, despite living in the only places where we are likely to die from picking them up. Yet we still pick them up. Why? Cause they’re cute.

If it builds up it can make a bullet proof vest
Compare a single thread of a bullet proof vest to a thread of web. One is stronger. Now compare an entire vest made out of spider silk thread to a regular bullet proof vest and see which one is better. If spider silk were the same size as a steel beam, it would be stronger, likewise if you shrunk a steel beam down to a single spider-silk thread size, it would be weaker. Obviously steel is stronger if you're comparing typical volume/mass, but if you fairly compare the molecular strength from a relative standpoint there's no discrepancy.
I honestly still freak out when a wasp just lands on me and stays there for MINUTES.
I actually got stung by a be before so here’s the story:
One time when I was at my best friends house we went to go to a store but the thing was they had bees but they were being crazy at that time, so when we were gonna get out they were still mad, so we put blankets over us and weared a bee head protector thingy. When it was my turn to get out the blanket had a bee or bee stinger, and my hand felt it but I thought it was a hard peice of the blanket but it wasn’t. I got stung and hurried inside (her dad was with when I went inside) when I got inside he put medicine on it let me take a pill to help and put a bandage on it. The end😀🙂

I think he meant it as in a fast-moving projectile such as a bullet is less effective the same way bulletproof vests are and I'm GUESSing something slow and with Nails(Humans, Etc) could be able to get out of it with relative ease.

I caught a black widow yesterday.
I’ve lived in rural Northern Australia for 17 years and have never once seen a venomous spider or been bitten by a spider at all. Ive seen spiders the size of my hand but those are the best spiders, they don’t make webs and are afraid of you so they won’t come near you if they can avoid it. Spiders are beautiful and should be loved

Their webs can’t trap you because they’re too thin. If the web was thick as a bulletproof vest it would be bulletproof. Spider silk is five times stronger than STEEL of the same width.
I can watch the entire “Watering my Tarantula” series and not freak out even at the biggest jumpscare yet can see the smallest daddy long legs and freak out. Only “dangerous” spider in my state is the black widow, which only was found recently here. Also I fear every single bug don’t ask.
