Very informative. I have collected some of the same things.

The Old-versus-New debate is always so interesting, especially when both have situational viability, but I find middle is the best ground.
Something like this: with the ability to add a slim Plate, Assault Pack or a Ruck, hell maybe even a batman-belt? Gotta be the way forward to me.
Old meets new, scalable, with speed.

Chest rigs: Human anatomy says that carrying a load on the front of your chest puts strain on your lower back (to keep upright). Weight distributed around your hips is much easier to carry. I carry magazines in an issue bandoleer slung over my shoulder. Secure the bottom corners to your belt if it flops too much.

Chest rigs are such a big thing now, but I always thought they must suck if you have to go prone. Granted, we used the Alice Gear when I was in the Army, but it just seems like it truly IS better in the prone.
