@@pomanprod You've got to get connected with their good old boys club. I worked the IAAF TV side at the 1996 Olympics. I directed the feed for the USATF National Championships in 2007 when NBC wasn't there. I even was a producer, on scene at the Pan American Games in Rio later that year. I was experienced in the city and all the venues years in advance. I apply to NBC, they have never given me the time of day. They did the 2016 Olympics in Rio without me or the other people I worked with.
Beautiful camera work to document such a beautiful race. I always wondered how you jumped the curbs. Sadie Engelhardt has had pure dominance at The Clovis Invitational over the last 4 years. She almost won in 2021 as a freshman, barely losing by less than a fraction of a second. She was sick for Clovis in 2022 but she was the favorite to win. She came back strong in 2023 to win Clovis and was only 8 seconds off the record. Now in 2024, she smashes the meet record in 16:24.2 over a very strong Rylee Blade. Sadie set the pace the whole way from start to finish and at 13 minutes, she begins her final surge to a very strong finish. Rylee Blade did not look comfortable from the start but was 1 second off the course record to get 2nd place and the 3rd fastest time on the meet course. Summer Wilson coming off an impressive win at The Central Park Invitational powered past Hanne Thompson at the end for 3rd place. What can you say about Hanne Thomson and her consistency, she won Clovis in 2022 and has been in the top 10 in every Clovis Invitational. I have been saying keep an eye on Maya de Brouwer and Abigail Errington and they came in at 5th and 7th place.
That was exactly the reason I built the e-bike - so you can feel like you're battling it out with the lead runners! Now all I have to figure out is to get rid of the ebike chain noise.
@@pomanprod Maybe a separate microphone mounted up high? (more weight, though). I'm sure you will figure it out. Gotta love the "PoMan" shout outs at 2:48!
@@clintcummins7287 Yes the love from the athletes is what inspires me to keep filming. I'll be mounting a cardiod microphone higher up to reduce the bike chain noise and cow bells.
@@mothmatcha Yeah Rylee is in Div. 1 and Sadie is in Div. 2. but they are still running the same course and I wonder who will win when they merge the times from separate races.
PoMan you deliver another fascinating race. This time between the current stalwarts of California high school distnce running, Sadie and Rylee. Both imdomitable. Obviously Sadie did not take kindly to finishing 3rd or 4th to Rylee in the last race I watched. Great stuff. Thank you.
That was insane viewing, brilliant video work, congratulations to the team who put this together, I think it's by far the best I have seen......the race too was fantastic, any of those top 25 girls could be future Olympic and top distance stars, brilliant by the front two ats, the bigger girl had the power over that distance and wasn't she tough, my goodness!
The girl who came in 9th (top finisher for Tesoro, which placed another at 10th) has a beautiful, relaxed stride and looks like she could go quite a bit faster in the near future. A runner to watch.
I don't see hills being a problem for Rylee in this race. Sadie's surge started at 12:53 race time (14:01 video time) and it was flat there. It seemed that Rylee was not ready to match that surge. Sadie seems to have very elite top end speed, and also enough strength to be able to do that surge late in the race.
She does. Longevity wouldn't be good if she thought thin=fast. Just hope she takes care of herself well and not too overworked. Amber Trotter and Allie Ostrander came to mind, both with heavy eating disorder... though AO is conquering it and still competing. Mary Cain, on the other hand, was healthy and so fast until they (Nike/Coach) made her loose weight. This certainly didn't end well...
@PoMan Productions Your footage is beautiful here. I watched it live, and when they cut to your camera it sucked. I'm old school video, we could say it was a proc adjustment. I don't know what it would be in digital form? They had to have an artificial filter screwing up your signal, which is so unlike them. By the way, the drone worked great two. Cutting between the two, particularly in the boys race with the drone lower, gave good coverage. As I commented, I wish the announcer had your feed rather than depending on phone reports.
Not hdrunner's fault; it was my fault, I was recording in log file which gives me the best dynamic range, but unfortunately, the output is very bland looking until I add the correct color grading during editing. I will remember to run the correct video profile.
How is this classed as Cross Country? The only bit of grass was at the start and finish you shouldn't be running on road on a cross country course even the dirt and clay terrain sections looked hard as a rock, you'd be mad to wear spikes on this course?
How did you film this?! Best XC race footage I've ever seen. Meanwhile NBC with all it's money still can't figure out how to show a marathon.

Great production quality! The live feed was skipping a lot, so this gem was especially needed!

Superb coverage. Well done guys.
great coverage and awesome race
Great camera work-- great to have head-on camera on the leaders to see when the break occured. They both ran such great races
thank you. Note that you can actually see their expressions instead of the usual blurry stuff from livestreams.
Amazing quality. Thank you so much for this!
I loved the music during the first kilometers 🎉 this was a great battle ❤
Me, too. It would be great if the soundtrack was looped or spliced with other tunes by the artist, to last the full race.

I have seen her before and she looks like she's not even breaking a sweat. Her biomechanic is like those Kenyan distance runners.
Any of those top 20 I reckon could be anything, it's all about development over time, but very impressive I must say.
Great coverage of the Sadie v Rylee race. Too bad we have to wait until NXN for the rematch. With all the talent this year, it should be outstanding.
It will be a three-way match with Rylee vs. Sadie vs. Holly. I'm rooting for the local underdog Holly.
thanks
Thank you, PoMan.
Cool course. Well documented!
Why can’t the set a course that stays off the hard surface-mind boggling.
Both young ladies are super talents, but Sadie's strength on the ups and downs is to much for Rylees lack of muscle (she seems to be a glider).
Agree, Blade didn't have the strength on the hills.

That was a great race. Those two girls are absolute warriors!
Stop it! They are not warriors, just two very talented young ladies. Warriors are the men and women, in uniform, keeping America safe.
Tough as they come.
Congratulations on being good at exercising!
The coverage was from the lead bikemobile who tracks them from start to finish.

This course can be called a cross country course cause it has inclines and declines. Not like all those courses that are just flat.
