@SBanderaB she's literally the fastest high schooler EVER. Her form is amazing. Everyone has a slightly different form, and that's natural. Blister doesn't mean it wasn't smooth
So the first 200 being 38 is “perfect” when you wanted her to go 5:20? He also said they don’t usually go the the well but I’ve only seen workouts of her going to the well. Not sure I understand this coach but obviously what he does works great for her! Also for the 800m: “let’s go 37.0 through 200”. Sadie: 35.0 -> 70.0
Gordon thank you for your video :) Two thoughts: (1) what a luxury for both Sadie and her coach to be able to have one-to-one time where the coach's attention is solely on one runner. (2) I think when Sadie mentioned developing a blister I would have had her immediately take off her shoe and sock and place a band-aid over the blister --- that could have been done very quickly and is certainly more important than sticking strictly to the recovery time planned. I hope the blister does not develop further. Thank you for filming and uploading Gordon :)
She’s switching direction to clockwise for symmetry on the easier tempos so probably just keeping lane one clear in case other runners show up. Or maybe they are really sensitive about wearing down lane one. 😊
Great workout! Actually, that's a Michigan Lite - in the traditional Michigan, the recovery was to jog only 200m from the track to the hilly tempo loop above the stadium.
@@samliao2393 theoretically the threshold miles could be considered “recovery” as well, I.E. forcing a recovering from the faster efforts at a known steady LT state.
There is actually a good video on Very Nice Track Club’s channel called “The Michigan” where they do a true Michigan at the University of Michigan. Long time Michigan coach and creator of The Michigan, Ron Warhurst, is now the coach of The Very Nice Track Club.
When was "The Michigan" first created? I remember doing it in High School because my coach was a Michigan alum. I went to a school in the southside of Chicago in 2016

The last 400m rep 🔥
Now we know why they consider her next big thing.
She's a beast.
Best of Luck Sadie !!!🙏
Sadie is a very talented athlete! Well done!
Crazy how smooth and easy she makes 5:15 mile look.
smooth - could you not hear it? not surprised she has blisters..... she needs to learn to lift her knees... well too heavy footed to be smooth

Yikes😳. That's a really tough workout
Does traditional Michigan also run that fast? I mean 1600@CV,1200 @5kp, 800@3kp, along with threshold mile with only 200m recovery seems very intense.
@@samliao2393 Even faster, as the original ended with a 400m close to all out and the tempo was hilly.

No way Ryan Reynolds’s coaches her
Yeah, had the same thought
Which NB shoes is she wearing?
It looks like the SC Pacer v2
I love the part when he tells the band to watch the track
