New Mexico Attorney Announces the Arrest of 3 Pedophiles

- Albuquerque, NM - Today, Attorney General Raúl Torrez announced the arrests and arraignment of three suspected online predators following “Operation MetaPhile,” a months-long undercover investigation of child predators operating through Meta’s platforms. The suspects contacted and solicited sex with underage decoy accounts created by the New Mexico Department of Justice.
“I’m proud of the undercover investigators in our office who worked meticulously to arrest three suspected child predators who used Meta’s platforms to find and victimize children,” said Attorney General Torrez. “The decoy accounts with which these suspects engaged mirror the experience children can and are having on these platforms. Operation MetaPhile uncovered how older men seek out these minors and solicit conversations that quickly turn into graphic, sexual conversations with children they know are underage.
“This operation conclusively demonstrates that using Meta’s social media platforms not only endangers children in the virtual world but, more importantly, they are spaces that sexual predators actively use to hunt, groom and victimize children in the real world. Rest assured that our agents and prosecutors will continue to use every available resource to apprehend and prosecute these monsters in our midst, but ultimately only Mark Zuckerberg and his executive team have the power to make these products safe to use.”
In December, the New Mexico Department of Justice filed a historic lawsuit against Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, and the company’s wholly-owned subsidiaries - including Instagram and Facebook - concerning the protection of children from sexual abuse and human trafficking. The New Mexico DOJ’s complaint details how Meta’s platforms, through their lax policies and recommendation algorithms, enable child predators and traffickers to hunt for, solicit, and sell sex or sexual images with children at an unprecedented scale.

I would count that as a huge plus for Meta. Either Meta is exceedingly good at hiding such activity or Meta is exceedingly good at preventing it. I have seen over a dozen "online predator poachers" who come into contact with online predators for purposes of exposing them and publicly humiliating them. These predators use social media platforms to find and lure minors into adult situations. But it is uncommon to hear that facebook is connected.
There are dozens and dozens of the poachers to do this sort of thing for the enjoyment of recording and exposing perpetrators. Sadly, there seems to be a never ending supply of knuckleheads who are drawn in like a moth to a candle-flame. The poachers can catch five a week, for weeks on end yet they still keep showing up. It is clearly an addiction which motivates the predators because they seem helpless to stop their obsession with wanting to meet a minor.
Frankly, I am surprised given that New Mexico was only able to garner up three arrests after months of investigation. While the internet has become one of the worlds greatest assets for the sharing of information, it has also opened a Pandora's Box of unhealthy byproducts such as the illegal online selling of weapons, drugs, sexually related crimes and quite honestly, marital infidelity.
Think of the internet as a breakthrough vaccine. Like all vaccine's it was created for the purpose of helping mankind. But for every 10,000 people that the internet helps, 3-5 of them may suffer irreversible damage.
Now do the elections
Amazingly the prosecutor will go easy on them. AG is a democrat and we know how easy they go on crime. Also making it harder for LEO to do their job
