    I am answering the question from my last video, let me know what is your opinion about uncorking WR450 using free mods and Jd jetting. Would it defeat the purpose of this great enduro bike or enhance it?

    Awesome video on WR! I have the 1999 WR400F, and it is awesome. You have taught me how to free it up, as it is restricted from stock. Thanks for the video

    You do some hot laps on stock and when you mod it do it again to see if there any big difference in time.

    Exactly great point and video. I'm doing the same modes to my wr. Bone stock besides my crazy bright Ridgid led light

    For me, buying the FX and putting the WR headlight and taillight on it makes more since. The FX already comes with a 160w generator and shares the same rear fender as the WR. I'm planning on buying a YZ 450FX next year.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  5 років тому

      yes, FX are great machines, good luck Daniel!

    ive been riding 40 years bush mainly, and anyone who says you dont need more power needs a good ass kickin (not really all that hard to do to those types), the purpose of having more power is for thrills, plane and simple, if you dont understand that then why are you watching a vid on how to get more from your machine. ???

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  5 років тому +1

      more power = bigger smile :)

  • @jetdr
    @jetdr 2 роки тому

    Having a little bit more power would make it easier to ride, 4 strokes are easy anyway, but you still need the grunt. I have ridden a fairly hopped up yz250 for years. These wr450f’s uncorked are awesome rides, uncorked it is very similar to the KTM 350xcf-W

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  2 роки тому

      they are great bikes once uncorked, such a fun power!

    Always try to get the most "safe" performance potential, both for the bike and the rider.

    LoL i need the opposite. I must to decrease the power I'm planning to replace the front sprocket from 13 to 16 or 17 if possible. this huge rear sprocket is too much torque for a 450 and for my skills. Any suggestions? I'm also restricting the jets at least for a few months until I get more experience

    Hi Rado! Thanks for the videos and info. I have an WR450 2004 and I’m thinking about doing the mods, previous owner did the throttle screw, the air box and the exhaust, so it is only missing the grey mod plus rejetting. I couldn’t find a final video of you with all the mods done and enjoying your unleashed beast, with your valuable comments about before-after mods. Is there any video that I missed? Thanks a lot 👍

      Same here, got a 03 WR450 a couple of days ago and thanks to this channel I've learned a lot about these bikes.
      In a couple of weeks I will overhaul the engine and do the same mods like the throttle stop, grey wire and JD jetting, so it runs like it should.

    Rado do you have any videos on how to change a clutch cable? Just bought a 2014 Rmz 250f and I need to change the clutch cable out.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 років тому +1

      Ekim, I dont have one, but it should be fairly simple, just remember cable routing and you should be fine. I might do a video on it once In have a need to replace my cable.

    It has different cams or at least different cam timing and different ignition map. That's what sets the wr apart from the yz power wise.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 років тому +1

      yes, the cams are different, some people swap them for YZ.. I am not going to do that, free mods, pipe and jd jetting should be enough

    I am thinking abot uncorking, but I am worried it might result in higher fuel comsumption and I use my WR for trails only, so it is important to me.

    • @dirtniron

      not a big difference but way more smiles per miles

  • @gpedley1
    @gpedley1 6 років тому

    I understand that the grey wire mod changes the ignition timing but does it remove the redline so it can reach higher rpm or does it raise the redline ?? Basicly does it remove it or not :)

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 років тому

      to raise the red line you need to change throttle stop. Basically stock wr450 doesnt even reach rev limiter, once you do the throttle stop mod you will be able to rev high, same as YZ. Grey wire helps with timing adjustment for high rpm. Recommend to do both mods at the same time.

    • @gpedley1
      @gpedley1 6 років тому

      Awsome thanks for that :) iv owned mine for 4 years and reaches redline with ease so im presuming both have been done so il going to check that the wire mod has been done :)

    Lol ktm and these terms are so confusing. Exc XCW xcf SX(f) #WR450FX also ABCD, it wouldn’t be near the same as a YZ450F. Top end power on the mx bike just pulls although some of these mods can enable a WR to compete with MX bikes

    • @dirtniron

  • @Dramadelta
    @Dramadelta 4 роки тому

    Okay the more air bat the carbilater no way & the grey cable no way;)bro I write why down below why the factory did a great job & they was first selling bike for years plus they take a ☆ for the engine i don't think you know better than the factory what is better for the bike but the air mod is good idea & plz don't speak for RMZ the bike is only for ps4 ridining with controller;)lol?

  • @Dramadelta
    @Dramadelta 4 роки тому

    The damage you do is 2 the engine not at your riding.Cuz it's not race bike but it's too close the factory knows better;)
