    Never having wrestled and doing jiujitsu this is amazing. I’ve been wanting to practice and incorporate more wrestling into my Jiujitsu as I feel the two together is a powerful combination. Thank you for teaching these drills!

    As a person who started practicing bjj in their late twenties, with no prior wrestling experience, I could not for the life of me figure out how to do a proper double leg takedown, without landing hard on my knees or putting a lot of "strain" on my hips muscles. With this video coach, you have "opened my eyes" on how to at least drill right :) Thank you very much!

      The most important thing for not smashing your kneecaps are changing your level. When you change your level us wrestlers tend to use a formula for the takedown : Heel, toe then knee

    Thank you so much coach! No one has ever taught me to pound the mat before shooting. It's always just level change and shoot. Hardly ever works for me. I usually end up getting stuffed when I shoot in. I'm going to drill the hell outta this and incorporate it in my rolls. Thank you so much!!

    I've watched so many videos and trained with so many people to improve my shot, but this was the detail I needed. Guess lots of beginners and intermediate guys are taught to never bring their feet close or cross them, at any point. In fact there are times in boxing where a pendulum step just like this into a jab or hook will work, crazy I never thought about this for wrestling. Thanks for sharing this all for free, you're a legend

      Can I learn boxing and wresting at the same time effectively and efficiently?
      I'm planning on training boxing Mon, Tues, Wed and wrestling on Thurs, Fri, Sat. What are your thoughts?

    • @RonALampman
      @RonALampman 2 роки тому

      @@jackjack4412 I was trained in peek-a-boo boxing where both feet are pointed toward my opponent. My dominant foot is back, unlike in wrestling, but in the peek-a-boo, switching stance is very fast and easy and so is moving side to side, and slipping to either side. Very few boxing gyms show or respect peek-a-boo, but I absolutely love it. I'm not much of a wrestler, only learned what I know from BJJ and on this channel. Sorry I couldn't help anymore.

    As a person who had wrestled from 1st to 12th grade, I don't think I had ever been taught this concept properly. I always sucked at double legs, and would often rely on my defense in neutral position and my offense in top position to win matches. I had the exact same slow takedown technique that would always get me pancaked on the mat if I tried anything. This small adjustment and way of thinking is pretty eye opening and I wish I had learned it sooner. I never realized my feet being closer together in the beginning of the takedown was what provided that power. I always figured it was just a matter of not having explosive muscle or having bad timing. My coach would always say 'go through them' but that would only end with me getting spread out more and not really getting me more takedowns.
