Never having wrestled and doing jiujitsu this is amazing. I’ve been wanting to practice and incorporate more wrestling into my Jiujitsu as I feel the two together is a powerful combination. Thank you for teaching these drills!
Absolutely, the best jiu-jitsu guys have good wrestling and vice versa (talking about the context of MMA)
Me too I've been doing BJJ for about a year now. I wanna focus more on quick and effective wrestling takedowns.
I’m tryna be khabib
I love Learning wrestling drills like this specially from Adam Sandler himself. Thank you sir
when did he do wrestling exactly? I know he did some football though.
@@twentyonetortas5921 I think he learned wrestling from watching Captain Insano…..”and Captain Insano shows no mercy!”
Adam Sandler? Who said that is Adam sandler?
@@twentyonetortas5921 lol he’s calling the coach in the video Adam Sandler
I did @@michaelalali-goodnews3154
This is so informative for me as a bjj guy who doesn't wrestle a lot. Thanks! Will drill this during warm-ups!
That's exactly why I came here 😂 getting reading to compete heavy next year so I'm looking to get that quick 4
I always love those little details that no one else talks about. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
As a person who started practicing bjj in their late twenties, with no prior wrestling experience, I could not for the life of me figure out how to do a proper double leg takedown, without landing hard on my knees or putting a lot of "strain" on my hips muscles. With this video coach, you have "opened my eyes" on how to at least drill right :) Thank you very much!
Dropping on the front knee isn't wrong just a different technique. If you liked this I recommend searching up snatch single
@@boomidctv6017 Thank you!
The most important thing for not smashing your kneecaps are changing your level. When you change your level us wrestlers tend to use a formula for the takedown : Heel, toe then knee
Thank you so much coach! No one has ever taught me to pound the mat before shooting. It's always just level change and shoot. Hardly ever works for me. I usually end up getting stuffed when I shoot in. I'm going to drill the hell outta this and incorporate it in my rolls. Thank you so much!!
Can’t thank you enough coach three years later and I’m still watching this
This guy has a god given ability to teach. Outstanding Coach!
Feint (faint?) as in not syncope! This style of coaching really incorporates the student's intuition and makes it very easy to understand the lesson! Pure Awesomeness!
I've watched so many videos and trained with so many people to improve my shot, but this was the detail I needed. Guess lots of beginners and intermediate guys are taught to never bring their feet close or cross them, at any point. In fact there are times in boxing where a pendulum step just like this into a jab or hook will work, crazy I never thought about this for wrestling. Thanks for sharing this all for free, you're a legend
Thank you! 🙏
For a guy who has never wrestled in their life, is new to bjj, and has looked like a baby deer learning to walk while trying to figure out how to shoot, this video has just helped me immensely. I’ve finally figured out what I was doing wrong. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
The details are so important, thank you coach.
I did the little thing you did at 9:00 over and over again and it really helped
I love learning drills, and incorporating them into my daily training.
Hey coach!! New to wrestling here. I am a Marine Corps vet, and I decided to hit up college after my enlistment, and now I’m on my schools wrestling team. I’ve not only found a new love and competition (which I REALLY needed) I also found your channel. I love it. Thanks!
Such great detail. You can feel how much he loves to teach. Pure gold!
I was never taught to bring that back leg behind like that for the explosion. That front leg being out some too was real nice.
This is gold, coach! Thanks a lot for the amount of details you put in this!!!
This video brought back memories when I learning how to wrestle in Australia early 2002. Foot work was key to securing the take down.
Thank you coach awesome video and bring back good memories.
The passion from that coach is awesome, respect boys
My coach Javi Vazquez said...watch your vids, I'll learn something!
Javi is the man! You are a lucky student to have him. 🤙
Yes he is! I'll mention your comment to him in class today. Been watching your videos for about a year now. Keep up the great work coach!!👍
This channel is definitely in my Top3 favorite grappling channels, I've never been a Patreon supporter of anybody but you I am considering breaking with convention for. One day maybe if the opportunity arises I will send my son to you to learn. Great, easy going personality, no cult vibe going on, just sharing your love and passion for grappling. Much appreciated
The extra pentration step is the key, the step before the shoot. Thank you Coach Brian. Feinting w the hands, feet, and head just like in striking.
Such a great coach. Thank you so much. Wrestling fundamentals aren’t taught enough at mma and jiu jitsu gyms.
Great video. Appreciate it. I got myself a small fight gym built in the garage. Able to find great bjj and striking content. This is by far the best for wrestling. Thank you!
That was so detailed, thank you coach. Best grappling channel.
My favourite channel, thank you coach Brian.
This was just a great video. Platinum level. I enjoyed Coach Brian’s clear concise coaching. His student had humility and was eager to learn and apply. What a great relationship. In fact, I really love how he brings his students and assistant coaches into the videos. Great work. Thank you.
You're a good teacher.
game changing details coach
Oh dear God, I'm one of those guys that goes down on the front knee and thinks I'm stepping forward into the shot because that's exactly how I was taught to do it by an accomplished wrestler. Not anymore! Thanks for this amazing tip, Coach Brian!
Dropping on the front knee isn't wrong just a different technique. If you liked this I recommend searching up snatch single
Same here
Missed this a year ago. Glad this popped up today.
This is gold! This is the part of my BJJ that needs lots of work. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much. I’ve been training bjj for a long time but no one took the time to teach these amazing take down details. Thanks for putting it out there
i saved this video to keep mind studying the moves and remember it better
It's funny how the coach felt he needed to apologize for calling wrestling "wrestling".
I love the details
This sounds simply especially when everyone is doing it during warmups🤷🏻♂️ super thanks for the video
Amazing breakdown. Best I've seen.
Great explanation with analogy with striking ❤
Great breakdown🙏
outstanding coach
Very important technical point
Thanks Coach
Brian you are awesome brother!.
This is tight bro thank you.
Thanks coach! Devil's in the details! I generally do warmups and will incorporate this into it.
Can I learn boxing and wresting at the same time effectively and efficiently?
I'm planning on training boxing Mon, Tues, Wed and wrestling on Thurs, Fri, Sat. What are your thoughts?
@@jackjack4412 I was trained in peek-a-boo boxing where both feet are pointed toward my opponent. My dominant foot is back, unlike in wrestling, but in the peek-a-boo, switching stance is very fast and easy and so is moving side to side, and slipping to either side. Very few boxing gyms show or respect peek-a-boo, but I absolutely love it. I'm not much of a wrestler, only learned what I know from BJJ and on this channel. Sorry I couldn't help anymore.
AMAZING! 👏
This crap is just what i needed thank you coach
Thanks coach you are the biggest help
So simple yet so f*#king helpful to go to takedowns. 🙏
Awesome video! Thank you, from Moscow.
Great 👍.
This is great!. I have been drilling the double like you have shown without this "Jab Step" since I have started BJJ. Today I promise to do this NO MORE!
Honestly I learned SO MUCH just from this video and it makes 100% sense, Im.gonna try what you taught in this video, shit I'll even sub and turn on the bell.
Very good! Thank you! 👏🏽👏🏽🔝🔝
Best lesson with details 👍
watching this present day and it’s soo helpful 🙏 also you look like adam sandler if he was a fighter 😂😂 great video!! even after all these years
Good stuff ,easy to understand
Great breakdown on loading the back leg. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Outstanding!
Wow the wrestling coach is extraordinary. So motivational
Amazing . I've just started bjj as an adult, and yeah they make us do the "samurai step" where you just step down with your knee but it just feels slow and off balance and uncomfortable. But that penetration step starting it off makes it look amazing. you cover so much distance.
Nice tutorial video
Great stuff
Thank you coach, here in Perú there are no wrestling schools. This helps a lot
So good thank you
can't wait to learn from you in your gym, I can stay up and watch all your videos. always exciting to watch
I love this. Thank you
Great foot work thank you
Top coach❤
Just tried this at the gym tonight for warmup.. ya need wrestling shoes or suffer mat burns on the tops of your feet and toes.. Ha ha!
Coach Brian but also keep safe out there too man, I pray that you all is well thanks for teaching me ✊🏾👍🏾 if you got any friends who teach striking or other fighting techniques send it to me brother God Bless .
Beautiful
Thanks!!
Gold for a BJJ student
man i'm drilling these and it feels amazing. thanks coach
Love this. Wish I done wrestling through school
Pure gold!!!
great stuff here
I incorporate a large Med Ball as well so that I can incorporate Sprawl drills and spins....
Awesome! Thanks a lot.
As a person who had wrestled from 1st to 12th grade, I don't think I had ever been taught this concept properly. I always sucked at double legs, and would often rely on my defense in neutral position and my offense in top position to win matches. I had the exact same slow takedown technique that would always get me pancaked on the mat if I tried anything. This small adjustment and way of thinking is pretty eye opening and I wish I had learned it sooner. I never realized my feet being closer together in the beginning of the takedown was what provided that power. I always figured it was just a matter of not having explosive muscle or having bad timing. My coach would always say 'go through them' but that would only end with me getting spread out more and not really getting me more takedowns.
Thank you!! 🤙
you look like adam sandler and muslim salikhov, and nice video tks for all the info
Thank you so much coach
Great video
I’m so on this! Thanks.
Super lesson thanksss
One tip I have for this is to work on your hamstring flexibility. It's a little hard for by back to stay completely straight because my hamstrings are stiff and I feel the stretch, I think this is why the other guy had the problem of having a curved back
Thanks coach 😃👍
Great technique, as a youth wrestling coach teaching good stance and the technique of proper shooting is I think the hardest thing to teach
Damn what a great coach
Amazing
BADASS..
That’s great , I do bjj and I just fall to my knee, this helps a ton
Basics is key.
Real Gold
Great!!!
Really cool thank you
This was very useful thank you
thanks for the informative content, i love doing mma but my biggest weakness is wrestling, mostly do to lack of experience and i prefer striking, and i've been trying to improve my grappling to become more well rounded, you just got a new subscriber
