You are an absolute light in the wilderness to me. I've been trying desperately to learn how to do abstract watercolor, and I have also been experimenting with neurographic art- so I was delighted to find you doing both! I would really love to touch base with you privately to ask a couple questions - would that be possible? Please, and thank you so much for sharing your amazingness.

Oh my goodness - amazing 🤩 !! Love this Gabrielle ❤ neurographic art is my favorite since you asked. But you take it steps further with adding your details. Since discovering your channel and watching your videos I have invested in several of the tools you use … fountain pen, white pens and of course watercolors. You so inspire me! Thank you. At approx 16:30 in your video you came in closer to show what you were doing and that was great 👍 ❤ thank you for sharing your craft with us!! ❤

And thank you for also offering me feedback on the things that make my videos better. I really appreciate it ☺️ I hope you are having a wonderful time in your own creative practice! Beautiful and colorful painting 💛 I'll try to do something like this to relax a bit and also try to fill so many watercolor sketchbooks that I have blank and unused 🙃😁 Thank You!
Thank you for your kindness!! ❤️ Yes, this would be a fun and relaxing way to fill blank pages in a watercolor sketchbook 🥰 I wish you many zen moments of creativity 🎨☺️✨
Loving your version of neurographic art. It is so pleasing and relaxing to watch. And your narration complements the creating process. Got to love Kremer's golds. I'm not very much into metallic watercolors but Kremer's metallics, especially the golds, are stunning. I don' know how they do it but they are among the best. It was ceecee from @creationsceecee who first enabled my addiction to Kremer golds.
Thank you so much for making the time to write me this kind comment! ❤️ CeeCee also introduced me to Kremer's metallic paints too ☺️ LOVE her so much!! And I must say, I was never much into gold anything myself, but obviously I'm now pretty sold on them, especially the ones from Kremer. 🤩
This was exactly what I needed today. I’ve been very poorly for over 2 weeks and not able to engage with anything really. Today is my first day ‘up & about’ and I watched this while getting dressed for the first time. I feel refreshed, and now quite zen after watching this lovely picture in progress. ❤
I'm sorry to see you have not been feeling well and glad that yesterday you were well enough to get "up and about" ❤️ I'm also glad my video helped you feel refreshed and zen and hope that you might someday soon feel inspired to be creative as well. Thank you for watching and for making the time to connect with me. ☺️
I use mine a lot and though it works well for the most part, at times it gets a little finicky for me too. When the ink isn’t flowing quite as well as I’d like it to, I either scribble on a piece of paper and will even dip the tip in water if it needs an extra little nudge. I then wipe it on my paper towels and then it is usually good to go. ☺️ Watercolors are still soluble even when they are dry on the paper and so it is normal that our pens get a bit clogged up. I hope this helps! Thank you for making the time to connect ☺️
Hi Shirley ❤️ Thank you so much for your kindness and for making the time to watch! I use the Pilot Metropolitan (amzn.to/3X11FXr). For future reference, if you ever wonder what products I'm using, you can find the whole list (and some links) in the video description below my videos. ☺️ I hope this helps!

@@gabrielleannacormierarthi again Gabrielle, I did want to tell you that when you do all your little dots it’s similar to pointillism George Seurat was credited in inventing the technique he used coloured paint. @@janhudson505 Yes, I have heard of pointillism and have used coloured paint to create my dots. ☺But, I have definitely not used it in the way Seurat used it - I'm afraid I'm not quite that patient (yet)😂 Is it something you use in your art? It is so much fun to learn from other creatives and I'm so happy to connect with you ☺
Bonjour Gabrielle, This watercolour is very beautiful, from the first few strokes of your brush I felt that it would be an other very special piece. I have a question, I receive watercolour pencils for Christmas and I wonder how to integrate them to my intuitive painting. I am following your vidéo every Wednesday, and they are a big source of inspiration for playing with my box of colours. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Hi ☺️ The gold I use in this painting is called Star Gold and it is made by Kremer Pigments (shop.kremerpigments.com/us/shop/ready-made-colors/501108-kremer-watercolor-iriodin-307-star-gold-colibri-fine.html). They sell online in North America and in some countries in Europe, but I do not know if they ship where you live. If they don't, I also really love this little palette of golds by CSY Art Gallery: amzn.to/3Qsi5qH. It's less expensive than Kremer Pigments, but all the golds in this palette are beautiful. ❤️ I especially love the 24 K Merck Gold. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching! ☺️
Hi Gabrielle. Thanks for another calming, mindful painting video. I am going to ask the very beginner question. I am relatively new to watercolor painting, and am using the most basic of watercolor sets (think grammar school :-) Could you recommend a solid set of colors and the how to buy them? I mean, do I use them from tubes, or find a container like yours with all the little pans? Did you build your color combo from various types of paint tubes? As you can see i am starting from scratch, and rather than buy all kinds of junk, I'd like to build a good set. Can you direct me? If this is too long a question, please let me know and we'll perhaps email. Thank you.
Hi Jane ❤️ It's always so lovely to hear from you and I am happy to help! You will certainly see quite a difference when you move from using your basic student grade watercolors to higher quality paints. It can be a bit expensive to build your collection, but they usually do last quite a while. I prefer to buy tubes paints (depending on the paint brand) that I then put in a pan and work with them when they are dry. This way I can build my palette with the colors I love and want to use the most frequently. Just as an FYI, I list all of the products and color names I used to make my paintings in my video descriptions. If by chance some of the colors I am using strike your fancy, you can easily get their name in my video description (or if I forgot to list one, please just reach out to me and I will gladly share). There are so many paint colors and brands to choose from and it can get a bit overwhelming. To be very honest, when I first started out myself, I bought relatively inexpensive paint sets that were recommended by other artists as well. This way, I was able to experiment with a variety of colors without breaking the bank (so to speak). Probably my favorite (relatively inexpensive) sets are from Watercolor Confections by Prima Collection. I own the Decadent Pies, Vintage Pastels and Shimmering Lights sets and I find them to be creamy and easy to work with. There are so many other sets and though I haven't tried all the other ones, I could easily recommend this brand for affordability and product quality. I also own a Mungyo set that I love with a nice assortment of colors. Once I got comfortable playing with these sets, I moved on to experimenting with watercolors in tubes (Daniel Smith and Winsor & Newton). They are a little more expensive but not too crazy. If you paint with the color straight from the tube, you will get much more pigment and maybe in that sense, it can be a bit harder to control how much pigment you use. Ultimately, I prefer to pour my tube paints in pans and these can be bought separately (when I first looked for empty pan sets, they seemed so expensive, but then I found one by Arteza that I found reasonably priced). And of course, now I'm exploring with Kremer paints and I am LOVING them. They are much more expensive, but I am so happy with them. I still love my less expensive paints, but I hardly ever turn to my student grade paints any more unless I am playing with my nieces. ☺️ I recommend you start small and build up as you play and experiment. This way you will discover the paints and colors you love the most and slowly but surely build your collection. I hope all of this is helpful! Please don't hesitate to reach out again if you need more info. ☺️❤️ Thank you for watching and for making the time to connect!
Could you let me know what type of fountain pen you use and what black ink and do you aches watercolour paper (300gsm or 140Lb) or hotpress paper.Thank you
Hi Jan ❤️☺️ Just as an FYI, I list all of the products I use in my video description and you can find this by clicking on “show more” under my video. I use a Pilot Metropolitan with a medium nib (it comes with a converter or you can buy ink cartridges - I like Namiki ink cartridges). As for the paper, I usually love the texture of cold pressed Watercolor paper, but hot pressed paper could be nice too. I work with Arches, Stratmore or Canson (140 lb) depending on my mood and desired outcome. I hope this helps and wish you happy creating 🎨☺️🤗
@@gabrielleannacormierart Thank you, I only use Arches cold and hot press paper for my artwork. I’m doing a sip and paint on the 24th June, 30 people are coming should be a fun afternoon🤪
Of course! I'm glad you asked! I basically just misted my paper with my spray bottle. I wasn't overly careful about where I was spraying as I just wanted to make my paper a bit damp before starting. After I applied my color, I sprayed some more water to help spread the color a bit more. I hope this helps ☺️

@@gabrielleannacormierart Thank you for your response. I think I'll begin slowly and build up.
@@janhudson505 WOW!!! That should be quite a bit of fun for sure 🥰 Enjoy!! 🤗
Quick question dear... do you put water all over the paper or just where you are going to put the 1st colour?
Of course! I'm glad you asked! I basically just misted my paper with my spray bottle. I wasn't overly careful about where I was spraying as I just wanted to make my paper a bit damp before starting. After I applied my color, I sprayed some more water to help spread the color a bit more. I hope this helps ☺️
@gabrielleannacormierart thank you so much. Yes definitely helpful. Thoroughly enjoying watching your paintings. Having been diagnosed with neurological condition, art has helped me and seeing your process really helps calming me. Thank you tons for sharing. I am very grateful to you.
@@CHARUL814 Thank you for making the time to connect with me and share part of your story with me. Having some health issues of my own, I feel compassion for you and your experience.
