Oh Gabrielle, you’ve performed another piece of magic! Beautiful colours and your skills with using them to achieve such a lovely work. Thank you for sharing ❤
I'm appreciating explorations of more free form, non-precise types of art because, with aging, my fine motor control has really deteriorated. Instead of precisely drawing a shape, I experiment with how to work with broader strokes or shaky lines. Having a past that was driven by fine, precise, 'perfection', I'm enjoying being freer. All this is to say I appreciate watching the process and approach you employ in your creativity.
Hi Marilynn ❤️ Thank you for making the time to share this with me! I’ve noticed that my fine motor skills and eyesight are changing as well as I enjoy the privilege of aging. At moments, I feel sad about this and then I remember how lucky I am that I can still create. In some ways, I think it makes me a better artist because I’ve let go of my attachment to specific results to make space for something more loose and unexpected. I appreciate knowing I am not alone in this experience. Thank you for making the time to connect with me ☺️ It really means a lot to me 🤗❤️
I'm so glad I watched this one today! I save your videos for when I'm very down, because you always know exactly what to say to make me fall in love with life and art again. Thank you so much for being the lovely person you are, and for teaching me to color outside the lines.
❤️🤗 I'm so glad to see you find my videos uplifting. I appreciate that you make time to do things that help you feel better. I do my best to bring awareness to my needs when I'm struggling with my mood and usually art videos do the trick for me too. Thank you for making the time to connect with me - it really does mean so much to me and I appreciate your presence here 💕🤗
Hi Patricia ☺️ I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that you are starting to see the light at the end of the ugly phase tunnel ❤️ happy creating and thank you for watching 🤗
☺️❤️ Well, that's always nice to read!! Thank you so much for your kindness! I'm so happy you're feeling inspired to give this a try too! Happy creating 🤗🎨
There’s a movie titled “The Half of It” on Netflix I love. In this movie there’s a quote I love that is central to the plot-“The difference between a good painting and a great painting is typically five strokes. And those strokes are usually the boldest strokes in the painting. If you never do the bold stroke, you'll never know if you could have had a truly great painting”. The cobalt blue were your boldest strokes-and it made a huge difference.
Oh how I love this! I’ll have to check this movie out ☺️ What a great reminder for us to step out of our comfort zone and take those “risky” bold strokes! What’s the worse that could happen?! With a paint brush we can undo or cover up just about anything if we don’t like it and we learn what we like and don’t like as we go along ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing Jessie 🤗 And thanks for connecting 💕
On this one I resisted the urge to fast forward to the end to see the finished product first. I’m happy I did. Your process in enlightening and inspiring all at once. Thank you for your words of wisdom. And you are right about rules in art. Tell me about an artist who followed rules, and I’m sure I’ve never heard of him. Pablo Picasso, I assure you, did not follow rules, such as they may be in art. Some guidelines, maybe. Namast-zen coming your way, friend.
☺️❤️ I was thinking about Picasso too, when I was reflecting on this. In many ways, breaking the rules is what makes many artists stand out. I’m so thankful for brave and bold artists like him. ❤️ I’m also thankful for you making the time to connect with me every week 🤗 Namaste 🙏
I've been doing some abstract intuitive painting , since I've been watching you , and now I have found what I love to do , thank you some much for showing me what I never knew I needed , I turn on my classical piano music very low and paint away ... My daughter loves what I have been painting lately and wonders where I got this idea and I gave you all the credit , God bless you Gabrielle, and have a merry Christmas .
Well Linda 🥲 this message was such a nice gift to receive today! ❤️ I'm so happy you are painting and have found what you love to do 🥰 Imagine all the wellness you are bringing to yourself by doing something that brings you this much joy! I am smiling big with gratitude that you made the time to share this with me. 😁🥰 Thank you so much for that! God bless you Linda and I wish you and your loved ones a very merry holiday season. Happy creating!! 🤗
Oh my dearest Gabrielle, it tuned out so very very beautiful, I’m in awe and this is no exaggeration….it is looking fantastic. I’ll surely try this asap. I do love this picture so much, maybe because I had a similar idea of colorful stones. Looking at it makes me happy and smiling from one ear to the other one😃😄. Feeling close to your heart. Thanks again for sharing your awesome painting process and your very helpful thoughts too. Biiiig hugs my dear ❤❤❤😊💞🤗
Thank you Trixi ❤️💕❤️ It makes me so happy to know my video has brightened your day somehow 🥰 I love playing with bright colors! It brings me so much joy too. I look forward to seeing what you will create ☺️ Have a wonderful day sweet friend ❤️🤗
Thank you so much Gabrielle I really really love ❤️ this and really really appreciate you too. I’m going to have a look at some abstract photos that I can gain inspiration from and see where this take’s me. I would love ❤️ to know what the music is that you are playing in the background, it’s so soothing too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤
Hi Mags ☺️❤️ thank you for your kind words! I’m so glad you enjoyed this process and feel inspired to try it as well ☺️ The music I play in the background is from the UA-cam Studio audio library. My favorite tracks are by Jesse Gallagher and Kevin MacLeod. I LOVE how relaxing their music is 🥰
This piece is absolutely beautiful !! The colors are just fantastic - love it I am new to your channel and so enjoying your art and videos and suggestions - Thanks !! I am going to be ordering some Star Gold from Kremer for sure !!😆
Awe ❤️ Nancy, your kindness always makes me smile! I’m a perfectionist in recovery 😉 I know how challenging it can be to let go. And then at the same time, it’s so freeing 🥰 Thank you for making the time to watch and connect! It means a lot 🤗
Wowzers, I'm going to start this over and paint with you. These colors were taking me to my happy place, especially when you added the cobalt teal. Have you experimented with Fine-tec's Flip Flop pearlescent colors collection? They're really fun! Thanks always for inspiring and teaching so many of us noobs. ❤😊
Yay!!! ☺️❤️ Nothing pleases me more than to know you're feeling inspired to paint with me! There's another video I created with a similar color scheme that you might enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/FB8rWveMlxc/v-deo.html. Bright colors make my heart happy too! ☺️ Oh and maybe you'd enjoy this one too: ua-cam.com/video/cmExsA2_WpY/v-deo.html. It's a bit different, but the colors had such a happy feel for me. I am not familiar with the pearlescent colors you mention - but I will check them out and thank you for mentioning them to me! A friend sent me a video on iuile watercolors last week - they looked delightful too! So many art supplies!!!! ✨💕 Thank you so much for your kindness!! Happy creating my friend 🤗🎨❤️

@@gabrielleannacormierart Hi there! Yes, the grounds are very cool, and because I don't want the jar to dry out while I'm applying it, I find that my movements are super intuitive and fast - just feeling it out. When I was in art school, there was a class called 3-dimensional Design - I constructed a textured piece from stiff white poster board with sand, glass, felt, and glue. My intent was to create something tactile for low vision and blind lovers of art. Little did I know that a few decades later, I'd be legally blind. Now that I'm playing with ground, that same desire to create tactile art is swelling within me. Life is funny that way, eh? Big Big hugs!! 🤗 ❤️ 🤗
@@Ren_Xander Wow!! I am so inspired by what you just shared! 💕✨ I am so sorry for your loss. 😔 And at the same time, there is something so very hopeful in your comment. Oh my goodness I LOVE the bright colors in this one! You really held back on the gold this time! 😉 😂 I appreciate all of your encouragement and words of wisdom, and I feel more confident in going for it! I am thankful for you, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Have a good week friend! 💕

Have fun painting your own and let me know how you make out ☺️ I am thankful for you as well 🥰 I hope you had a great thanksgiving and wish you a wonderful rest of the week ❤️🤗
I always like watching your videos, Gabrielle. I have gone from doing huge paintings of various styles to small watercolour based paintings and using various types of pens and collage to create my art now. Keep up the good work and have a merry Christmas and an even better New Year.
Good morning Alan ☺️ Thank you so much for your kind words, for watching and for sharing part of your creative journey with me ❤️ I wish you a very Merry Christmas as well and send you lots of wishes for a wonderful New Year 🤗
I actually do not gesso my paper first, but I do sometimes add gesso at different stages of my process. I have a ton of gesso in my studio because it's a product I use a lot (for many different types of projects using acrylic paints, watercolors, etc.). If you have specific questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask. ☺️
Your insight about how we really need to take care of all of ourselves is so true.
Self-care just makes everything better, doesn't it!? ❤️

It is so popular to decry "coloring in the lines," but there is something to be said for learning "rules" as well, in art and in other fields.
It’s important that we all follow what feels best for each of us creatively. Thanks for sharing your perspective! ☺️
