YAY!!!!! I am so excited for you! 😀💕 Thank you for your kind words, thank you for watching and most of all, thank you for making the time to connect to share this exciting news with me! Happy creating my friend! 🎨✨🤗
So beautiful! It reminds me of “neurographic art.” But there’s more freedom in this method! More mental/spiritual relaxation. Thank you for sharing! Will definitely give it a try!❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️🤗 It makes me so happy when I read the words "Will definitely give it a try!" May it be as enjoyable a process as it was for me! 🎨☺️
What a beautiful video Gabrielle! Not only your art is wonderful but the colors, the music, etc. made me relax like I haven't been for a long time. The result is just amazing! I am a beginner at watercolor and want to include it in my journals making. I am sure I will learn a lot by watching you! If I can get 1/1000th as good as you are I will be very happy! Thank you for sharing !!!
Awe ❤️🤗 thank you for your generous and kindness words! I’m so happy this video helped you relax and that you enjoyed watching my process. I’m happy you’re here and hope we will have many hours of creating happily « together » ☺️
Nothing makes me smile more as a teacher to know that people not only watch me paint, but they also paint with me. ☺️❤️ Thank you so much for making the time to share your kindness with me and for making me smile by letting me know you are having fun painting your own. 🥰
I thought how many layers you were putting down and couldn't imgine how it would look in the end. I like this way of picture making and use my gold as accents
Hi Janis ☺️ Yes, there are usually quite a few layers to my paintings! I just keep adding until my intuition says I'm done 😀 Thank you for making the time to watch and connect! ❤️
It is gorgeous and the colors are magnificent. I love it. I have been a watercolor artist but I haven't done it in a while and didn't know they had metallics.
Thank you so much Gabrielle, I really really enjoyed watching you creating this beautiful and gorgeous piece. I also wondered about the colours, but it is so very very gorgeous and stunning too. The gold, certainly lifts the piece up. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for explaining as you go, I've ordered my Kremer paints and a fountain pen and I'm excited to try this, but in my own intuitive way 😊 thanks for the inspiration.
Awe ❤ I'm happy to surprise both you and me 😉😂 I really wasn't so sure myself at one point, but it's always a happy surprise when I manage to pull it off somehow ☺ Thank you for making the time to watch and connect! 🤗
OMG what inspiration you have just given me!! I have done a few geo paintings before but none as beautiful as yours. I cannot wait to try this. Thanks so much ❤
Pecan is a beautiful colour! and that Bronze - wow! I love this piece. Your art is amazing...thank you for sharing your process, your intuitive walks.....
Hi Deanna ❤️ I'm so happy you enjoyed this process! And yes, that Pecan is so nice! Love it! And I love that Bronze too 🥰 I really appreciate you watching and making the time to connect 🤗
Thank you once again Gabrielle for this beautiful painting. Every week I look forward to seeing your creations. Thoroughly enjoyed the process. The bronze looks amazing. I recently got magicfly iridescent paints and have used it on black paper so it shows the shine. That bronze on white really makes it look like in between the geod of brown agate the earth core is nestling metal. It takes me back to my crystal learning stages and it's creations. Thank you so much. Till next week have amazing creative week. Look forward to seeing a video of how you use the paper towels in your paintings.
Hello hello ❤️ It's always lovely to hear from you! Thank you again for your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video ☺️ Ah yes to that Bronze huh!!! It is so shiny and beautiful - I want to use it more! I'm just now starting to play with watercolors on black paper and I'm finding it to be an interesting new challenge. Iridescent colors are beautiful on black paper indeed 🥰 Thank you for making the time to watch and connect 🤗
I literally just found you with this video. I LOVED the music choice, artistic choices, & the Kremer metallics (gonna have to find them!!) . I've always wanted to try making a geological piece as I've been a crystal freak for over 30 years & this helped me get started with that! SO thank you very much for your wonderful video. I'll be looking at more of your stuff now 😁😁
Yay!!! 😀 I’m so happy to see how much you enjoyed this video! Geologic abstracts are so much. Fun to create and I think you’ll really enjoy the other videos I created with this theme in mind. Thank you for your kind words and for making the time to connect ❤️☺️ Happy creating! 🎨
Thank you Gabrielle, You’ve done it again! A beautiful painting and relaxing tutorial. I love the bronze against the yellow and brown shades. By the way, wondering if you might consider painting the inside of a geode - i would love to see you paint one that includes some of your shimmery paint! Thank you again😊❤
Hi Lisa ❤️ Thank you so much for your kindness and the suggestion! I've never thought to paint a geode with watercolors, but I bet you it would be an interesting and beautiful project to create so I will definitely keep that in mind ☺️ I really appreciate you making the time to watch and comment 🤗
Hi Paula ❤️ I'm still in the process of working through some of the colors that never catch my attention. It's interesting how I continually do seem way more drawn to certain colors. But then when I play with the colors I am not attracted to, I can usually find redeeming qualities for them too. Thank you for making the time to watch and comment 🤗
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. You have a way with color and line that has me using watercolors again. I have some pearlescent acrylics I use with my gel plate but they don’t shine like those you have. Must go find them!
Thank you again Donna ❤️ I love to read about you feeling inspired to pick up your watercolors again!! ☺️ And yes, Kremer Pigments have some of the most shimmery iridescent paints I have ever worked with - I feel confident you will love playing with them as well. Happy creating 🎨🤗
Oh that bronze is beautiful!! I have to admit I was surprised you weren't putting lines in before you did 😂. I can't believe what a huge difference it made! 😯 I like using my iridescent paints on flowers, leaves, cards and some abstract paintings. I mean doesn't everything need a little sparkle and shine?✨😉😂 Have a great week my friend, big hugs! 🤗
Hi Lori ❤ Yes! 😂I surprised myself on that one too! Well, I'm surprised and not surprised as my process is not always very linear 😂 And YES to that bronze!! Oh how iridescent paints make me happy!!!! And used on black paper! Well, that's a whole other level of wow!! 🤩 I've finally worked up the courage to start using my black paper and though it's still a challenge, it's a challenge I'm really enjoying. Thank you for the suggestion ☺Wishing you a great week too sweet friend 🤗❤
I am so glad you're enjoying painting on the black paper, you can see the colors dance so much more than on white. It will never get old! 😂 I can't wait to see what you do with yours when you're ready. 😊 I have a nice array of iridescent paints, but I may have to try the Kremer! 😬 See you next week. 💕
Oh I love this one, and would frame it in a heartbeat! Do you use Dorland's wax or a spray finish over your works when they are done, or just store them carefully?
Thank you again ❤️ I generally use a spray fixative as it also offers uv protection. I have not heard of this type of wax before but now I’m curious ans will check it out ☺️
Another beautiful abstract. I'm not sure if you have mentioned this before, but do you stretch your paper prior to painting and do you wet the surface of the paper before you begin painting? If you don't mention at the beginning to wet the paper is it safe to assume the paper is dry? Thank you.
Hi Julie ❤️ Thank you again for your kindness ☺️ That a great question and your assumption is right. I actually do not stretch my paper. I simply tape it down and usually, once my painting is completely dry and finished, I use an iron to make my paper flat. I find this works really well and it's my preference because I feel like I can get my process going much faster this way (maybe I'm wrong?). It may also not necessarily the best way to do things. I will confess that I have yet to try stretching my paper even though I have watched many videos on it. Maybe it's time I give it a try 😉 Have you tried stretching your paper? I'd love to know your thoughts if you have. Thank you for the question, for watching and for making time to connect! 🤗
@@gabrielleannacormierart Hi Gabrielle, Really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my question. As a 'newbie' to watercolour painting (my other passion is photography) I have been willing to try any advice from other artists and so many of them recommend stretching. I have tried it many times but not convinced it is necessary on all papers. For one thing the tape needed to hold the paper after wetting is almost impossible to remove from the board and I don't like painting up to the tape so therefore I place ordinary masking tape within the frame to create a white border. All time consuming. The paper is very flat and does not warp at all so there is a benefit. I believe if you use good quality paper in the first place, stretching is not necessary. Thank you.
@@julieboyle170 Thank you so much for sharing about your experience with stretching!! I really appreciate it and I love to learn from other creative souls such as you! ❤I do find, like you said, that some papers (the better quality ones) tend to warp much less. I think I would have the same reservations you share about the tape. I do like having borders to my paintings too ☺ I will probably at some point still give it a try before completely moving on, but for now, I'm happy with my process as it is.
I am new to watercolor. Can you tell me what brand of the metallic paints that you are using In-N-Out abstract painting. So far I am using MGraham Watercolor paints.
Hi Dana 💕 My favorite brand of iridescent paints are by Kremer Pigments. I buy their products online and they have the ability to deliver in the US, Canada and in many places in Europe (and maybe more). If you’re ever curious about more of the products I use, please don’t forget to read my video description as I usually list all of the products I use for my videos in that section. Thank you for making the time to watch and connect ☺️
Hi ☺️ I have used roller ball pens and they do work very well over Watercolor paper ☺️ I switched to a refillable fountain pen because I did a a lot of line work and I was going through so many pens. My fountain pen is easy to refill, it is better for my budget and hopefully this is also better for the environment ❤️
It really depends on how I intend to frame the painting. If I want to hang it behind glass, then I don’t. But if I hang it without glass, I usually will spray the painting with a UV protective fixative. I hope this helps ☺️
