RIP Jim Simons -The Legendary Genius Investor died today 05/10/24 -I linked this video to my friend last night and told her "This inspires me greatly!" Sad to hear but oh what a legacy he left. 🥰
Simons is a simple man.
No returns?
Math.
Not enough returns?
Hire mathematicians.
Still wanting more returns?
Hire more mathematicians.
Rofl
Not that easy
The mathematicians cost as well
If you hire too many mathematicians you will inevitably face less return at some point
Yl U think U hav a kEn observation, U didn’t notice B4 beneath & beyond his intuitive hiring of this or that excelling mathematician, was intuition. even if one is using understanding, math, AI, & so on, etc., as navigation tools.. before even that is awareness creativity, etc.- many have said monkeys have traded better then experienced brokers, but he has adapted that creative adaptive mind a monkey or any being might have- & used it with the understanding, measuring, etc. tools you HAVE noticed in your funny comment✋😉. It’s like this, no matter how good 1 is at math, thA’v gotta Use the force(which is actually thE ebb.-btw)
simple Simon says
single life no wife? hire a mathematician.
So he didn’t take a course from Udemy or one of these bazillion social media traders?
Course sellers certainly aren't making their money in the market haha
If you take a course make sure you learn business and not stock prices
Just taking a guess here, but I also think he didn't blow his entire life savings chasing Robinhood recommendations. 😂😂😂
No it was because of skillshare
Wkwkwk
Interesting that Jeff Bezos used to work at a quantitative hedge fund in NY. He certainly knew the power of mega trends, large numbers and mass Market inception.

This is a great documentary. It’s encouraging to see academics leverage their knowledge in the market.
Yea only that he inherited a small fortune from his dad already. Like any other rich dope..
Robert Mercer figured out that even more profits were available to those who manipulate Political Elections.
After proving that He could get any Idiot Elected to Any Office in 2016,
Simons asked him to go away.
Mercer appears to have franchised his Election Marketing methods to serve the entire Planets desire for profits.
Installing the Proper Political Prostitute in the appropriate position,
can create even larger profits.

Most people would say the fields medal is the highest prize in mathematics.
True.
It IS the highest prize in Mathematics, but that would be for the rest of the world, for us the hapless lot.
For those who believe there is a sharp fall into nothingness beyond the borders of the US it's that - the Henry Oswald's Medal for excellence in Subtraction
😎
Most people are correct , Oswald Veblen is focused on geometry and topology. The Fields is general mathematics.
I thought so also. It's referenced in the movie Good Will Hunting.
I would say the Abel prize
Correction - *Fields Medal is equivalent to Nobel Prize* not Oswald veblen prize, although it is still a very prestigious award
People don't understand the value of Fields Medal because media over hypes Nobel too much
We the public
...don't care about medals
...we care if you contribute materially to human endeavour.
...like Madam Curie have you saved lives,
@@borntodoit8744 Yeah like mathematicians don’t contribute anything to society😂

Good luck trying to argue that one

RIP Jim Simons. the best trader of all times. Legend.
Incredible sad today
Keep up the great work! The quality of your videos are absolutely staggering.
Being good at math really pays off in today’s world. Top math graduates who ended up in the top quant trading firms can expect half a million dollar package in their first year out of school. Even those who do make it to the top firms can expect couple hundred thousand.
Woah! This is a super tier quality video. The quant developer comments are super accurate and well explained!!
I have seen a few of your contents and it's really detailed and with new insights. I have been following Jim Simmons of RenTech to understand his strategy. You are first one to have broken in down. Brilliant well done.
Don't give up! Stick to it if you believe in it.
So smart; ' hire the Smartest',' persistence has a lot of value along with patience. Thank you for this brilliant lesson Jim Simons.
How smart is "Smart"?
Where do the effects of intelligent efforts directed at a goal,
run into the actual day to day existence of Humans?
Simons ran into conflicts with actual application of the principals,
after enabling other "Smart People"......
Your videos are so immersive, and clearly you did a lot of research. Well done!
Thanks
Great video, keep it up! I think one key information missed out is the fact that these mathematicians had ownership in the company . If one of them made a winning formula they all profited. I think that was one of the key ingredients for Renaissance Technologies success.
The Oswald Veblen Prize in Geometry may be the most prestigious prize in geometry, not sure, but the Fields Medal is often considered the Nobel Prize of Mathematics, 3:34. Wonderful video!
The last minute of this documentary really comforted me .. been really low lately , suffered heavy loses with a strategy i thought was fullproof 😣
This is a great channel, loving the uniqueness and depth of presenting the info. Keep it up, I´m in.
Thanks! This means a lot!

Great video, I've been interested in investing ever since I came across articles of people making up to $150,000 and more in this period, thanks for the video but is it really possible for a retail investor to achieve this in months?
I've purchased numerous stocks in individual firms. Because there are so many stocks that will skyrocket in the long run, it is currently safe to buy in on ETF and ride it out. Due to fud, I sold out early, but then retraced my ways and re-invested $350,000 with a financial advisor who manages my account. I received an 82% return last year and will see where it goes this year.
that's quite impressive, you surely made a good bit of money. I myself invested in warren's BRK-A stock quite pricey but totally worth it.
@@martingiavarini I just started a few months back, I'm going for long term, I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, who’s this advisor you work with ?
@@kenanporubsky2122 'Christine Jane Mclean’is the coach that guides me. She’s a verified coach and she helped me see that returns can be made in both bull and bear markets. @@martingiavarini thanks for sharing this, I am in conversations with your advisor, and she really has substance, having interviewed her properly and reviewed her model, I am hoping she takes me on quite seriously too

Always ahead of the competition. Forever innovating
As an investing enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?
Just because there are opportunities in the market doesn’t mean you should go in blindly. To understand the potential factors that contribute to your financial growth, I'll advise you to seek the help of a professional.
A colleague once proposed the idea of diversification to me, hopefully for positive results to offset any negative performance. At once, I backed it up using an advisor in order to avoid any fiasco. As of today, my portfolio has yielded over $450k in profits, from an initial $180k this year alone.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financlal future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?
I had the pleasure of working with one and it proved to be immensely advantageous as they helped me restructure my entire portfolio. My advisor is none other than ‘CATHERINE MORRISON EVANS, a renowned figure in her line of work whom you may be familiar with.
she actually appears to be well-read and educated. I just did a Google search for her name and found her webpage, I appreciate you sharing
Really enjoyed this video. Hope to see more in the future
Lot of great info and wealth to be gleamed in this short video! Thanks! Always thought that what Simon's did in the market was/is much great than Warren/Charlie duo.
But other than mean reversion, he is not revealing what they are really doing. Similarly, Buffet keeps talking about "all you have to do is find when a stock meets this criteria" but nobody knows how to test every stock every day for some scads of different criteria. They are hiding the key features of what they are really doing. Beleive me they are not going to give away the store.
@@mobydick3895 true af also some said "Buying stock and forget it" lol this is really suck
