This is one of your best videos yet, that shows where you can take the boat, how the clutch lets you explore places you normally could never go in the Mokai, and using on-board and off-board cameras. The stop point where you check the motor quickly\seemlessly in under a minute is perfect, then you're back on your way. Love the music too. A+!

Nothing like enjoying the beauty of nature with the soundtrack of a scooter engine.

Thanks, with a little work these boats are a blast and can go just about anywhere. With my clutch system you can go to idle which stops the pump, and prevents sucking up any debris. At the same time, stopping the pump allows things to fall off or wash away. Being air cooled is what made this possible, nothing to overheat by stopping the pump. You've seen the grate system I made for these, very similar to what you did on yours. ;)

On the subject of jet drives, I had the thought of installing a 28mm KMB jet unit in a kayak and using a 12V battery with some kind of voltage regulator to control it. These jet units are like the ones they use in R/C boats. I saw a video on youtube where someone tested one of these in the water, it looked like it had decent thrust, even at slow speed, it would probably move a kayak along at 2-3 MPH. What are your thoughts on this? Have you experimented with anything of the sort? Here's what it looks like:

For only 2-3 mph, you would be much better off with a 40lb thrust trolling motor. A jet unit that small is made for an RC boat 12-24 inches long. I doubt it would even move a kayak. Here is a boat I scratch built using a 50mm jet drive and a weed eater motor, it would never push a kayak. ua-cam.com/video/5DLiMEH6rCk/v-deo.html

The throttle grip is on the steering stick, like on a motorcycle. Twist for throttle, push forward to go right, back to go left.

No explanation, no description, a quick peek at something in the engine compartment.
Shut down engine upon arrival at the beach both times . . .
