Brilliantly simple and well-engineered. Not sure how many folks realize how focused this product is. Not a JetSki, and it's tough to get the speed and stability that you've achieved in a "kayak" design. Nice job!
Wish we had those when I was a kid. We stayed on the water most of the time anyway We grew up with bateaux's and pirogues. I'm too old for both now.

This was great until the stupid background music kicked in
I got mine in 2004 then got the Painless clutch and then the Painless throttle repositioner. Then I got the windshield from Painless Tom, and now I just love it. Lots of smaller items, like anchor clamp, rod and camera holders, custom seat, dash kit (Painless)' and the wear ring. NOW it is an awesome shallow-water rig that goes 12mph and runs all day on a tank of gas. I run 3/4 throttle and double the mileage. My next investment will be the reverse. I,m also planning a sail/sun-shade. After that the last thing is a chrome bow-sprit for light, horn, bowline crank, etc. have the two-wheel caddy for moving it around at the launch. It's a real attention-getter, on the roof, trainer, launch, and out on the water. Had it on every kind of water, even on the ocean.

Counter-intuitive, and why? I can see a brown water military application, if also equipped with paddles. However, bad for fishing and bird hunting. The single means of propulsion creates noise which renders the kayak useless for all traditional kayak roles, while lacking the efficiency of better jet boats. Doesn't appear to make sense in a world with better mini jet boats and better kayaks. What am I missing? Does it paddle well after you motor part way?
This would be good for the water foul hunters. Do a camp version with a blind.

Its a cool concept but I think you guys botched it. Pull starting my motorized kayak? No thank you make this more clean cut like you would a sea doo and much more sleeker design and I will think about it. Pull start yeah I would rather not drive my lawn mower in the water

Are you serious about that pricing or just opining without objective information? I'm a seriously interested person. I've been a serious whitewater kayaker since the mid-70's and paddled all over the world. Now suffering from the recurrent injuries of adrenaline junkie sports and a military career, my back and shoulders are unable to take me to the places which were always my place to recharge and unwind. I'd love to get back onto the water using something similar to this, even satisfy my entrepreneur spirit importing these at a price point regular people can afford. This misses the point about the serenity and peacefulness of paddling a kayak. It's a damn motorboat!!! Burns gas. Adds to pollution. Why on earth even call it a kayak???

How shallow of water can it operate?
I was told 6 inches for the older models which are the 1.0 and much deeper on the new ones because they weigh much more.

I woulden,t bother getting one,, just strap two kayak,s together and put a small motor in between,, much more stable,, and safer,,,,,

@@thisismecantuseeitsacz5823 Thank you I found a prop less, war eagle Gladiator 750 , for 14,000 dollars (and no way easy to haul) And a mud prop sneaker boat from backwater that was just under 5,000. (but it was plastic looking) . Clearly this mokai classic boat is real and has an application. That I have not found another market anywhere for. Still searching. I do see a plethora of jet boats for much higher , but also doesn't meet the one person haul factor (not a car a person). Having a shallow jet boat that one person can haul maybe a tiny market but that is what I am looking for.

I've rode in the older model mokai and the newer version that you can take apart in 3 pieces to make it easier to carry around with you but it is a piece of junk honestly, the older models were way more reliable, and had less electronics. Love the concept but please get rid of the electronically powered system!
