21ft. x 8ft. Wide Expandacraft Pontoon that fits in a pick-up.

- This is just one example of what you can do with Expandacraft modular hulls and components. Like the Lego of boats, the only limitation is your imagination. This boat can break down in 10 minutes and the parts fit in the back of a truck or SUV. Not everyone has a yard for a boat on a trailer, so this makes boat ownership possible for a wider market. Keep in mind that with Expandacraft, you can change the configuration of your components to fit your needs that day. The same parts which make this large pontoon, can make a 12 foot sit on top paddle cat or an outrigger kit for a canoe. Again, the limit is your imagination.
Pontoons, fishing boats, modular kayaks: Visit expandacraft.com for more information/to purchase today. Proudly made in the USA.
Very ingenious houseboat/tiny home.
I like that design!
24 feet by 12 feet would be nice gives you alot of clearence to walk around the tent.
One guy did build one that size with Four 24 foot hulls and took it 1300 miles down the Mississippi river with his 80 year old father.
Thankyou for sharing
lovely
How much weight will this boat support?
Best fishing....
Expandacraft will be at the Gulfport FL Nautical Flea Market on Saturday, March 16 2019 so come by and say Hi! facebook.com/mygulfport/photos/a.178079139210331/848567418828163/?type=3&theater
holy horsepower
you are a fucken champenis.well done.
why didn't you just use swivel bases for your chair. bolt them to your deck. easy to remove
Mick Berry every client does something different. that chair can be used at camp as well as on the boat.

I always thought that large center console boat's should have a large flat deck forward where you could put a tent to stay out overnight and get out of the weather.
* "boats" in this case, not "boat's."
"There were three boats in the marina, and one boat's mast was broken."
And when you type with a phone, sometimes it adds apostrophes when ever it feels like.

Too much work to have it.
Those gaps are also large enough to lose stuff through like fishing tackle tools God forbid your keys jewelry! To me it’s a bad idea, if you need to tie things down use flush mont tie down as in toy haulers! Great pontoons though I’m considering two 12’ for my 17’ Grumman square stern and I’m looking at a 9.9 Yamaha!!
This is an awesome boat. I'm going to look you guys up. I would love to see it in person.
Love your creativity........What do you think about putting some 8 to 10’ vertical piping on all four corners? Creating a jacking system, jacking boat up out of water?????????
how much$

Sooo, you're not even going to show how it goes together?
See ya!
I have hundreds of videos on my UA-cam channel showing all sorts of different craft going together, coming apart and being built, including the triple 20 and lately a quad 20.
do you have you register it or can you just put it in the water in just go without getting in trouble
Each State has different requirements, in Florida, if it has a motor, it must be registered.
Teşekkürler. Very very very nice.
y such a small motor put like a 6hp on it
The boat is so slick in the water, more power will only make more noise. I get 6 knots with just a crack above idle. 12 is about top speed.
John here like to shrink my 21 ‘ to something with a kayak
I wonder how much that cost 5K
Without decking it's $2743.00with decking $3915
wtfffffffff
In all of your videos , in the description you should put the URL for your website, awesome product btw.
Fishing on the lake LIKE A BOSS!😀👍
?de que material esta hecho los tubos rojos?
Looks like a blast.
Looks like you're loosinng alot of boat by short decking. .
That's the wave piercing technology at work, the hulls pierce the wave, then pop up before the wave can hit the deck. Same thing in the back, it keeps the waves from overcoming the deck. Makes for a smooth ride. Check out the latest youtube of the 12 footer going through very rough waves.
You could use that overhanging plank to mount your Hummingbird fishin' buddy, Sportsman Guide has them on sale for $233.00 . Thanks for the video.~James
Looks good. Why not put a brace at the center point so that you can bolt the ends of two 6' long pieces? Or even three planks @3'? That would make it so more people could have one who don't have the capacity to carry 8-12' long pieces? Maybe even carry them in the back seat and/or trunk of car? : ) Had a homemade pontoon boat many moons ago, but it stayed in the water.
Good idea but it would be more expensive for sure. Their has to be stiff stringer from end to end to act as a back bone. a 2 or 3 part modular deck would cost 7 or 8 time more.
Hmm ok. Well, I just figured if each piece was cut in half, you'd only need one more brace to go underneath where the inside ends could attach to it, and 3 more brackets to attach the brace to the pontoon tubes, and that's all you'd need. Don't know how that would cost 7-8 times more? Thanks.
How long does it take to break down and load it into a truck? Seems like kind of a hassle to me. Or do you put the tailgate down and have the outside pontoons strapped down to the outer part of the truck bed?
Believe it or not, you can break that whole boat down in about 10 mins. The hull parts are about four feet long so you could take it down to the smallest parts and it would all fit in a Pickup tailgate closed except for the 12 foot deck planks. You could let them stick out of the truck bed or roof top them, each plank is 24 lbs. This is a boat for those who don't have a place to park a boat on a trailer or tow a camper yet still want a boat when they get to camp. Whatever the reason, I'm selling a lot of these things and will soon have video of clients on their boats.
J. Wesley Stevenson nice
Hi , I live in louisiana . They are very strict when it comes to motorize boat , even a electric troll motor . If I build my own boat just like this one from expandacraft pontoon . Can I get paper or registration for this boat to be able to legally use a motor on it ? There NOT much talk about the legal aspect of these type boat on the water so we don't get harass by the D.W.F. on youtube . This greedy state don't want you enjoying anything without havi g to paid ! Lol. Thanks for reply greatly .
All states have provisions for home built boats and yes, some are more picky than others. Like kit air planes, Expandacraft sells components which builders can make into anything they can dream up. As long as the boat meats regulations, you can register it as a home built.
You would probley have to buy a hull number before you could register it.
Every State has a provision for (Home Built Boats) as we do here in Fl. Many of my clients have registered them in other States with a little effort. Some states may require an inspection but it can be done. Also, there is an affidavit you can sign which basically says, "I built this boat from scrap I had cluttering up my yard" and presto, you got a new hull #. They just don't want you to grind the hull # off a stolen boat and then claim you built it.
@@Expandacraftboats Not true. They also want taxes, to establish responsibility and liability, and make sure you are not a hazard to yourself, others or the environment. The craft in this video would be an absolute magnet for DNR inspection. The list... registration, what is the occupant capacity , weight capacity violation?, horsepower capacity?(tag on boat must match registration for all of these), fuel container reg., for a boat that size a first aid kit, life preservers, fishing lisc....
Yep. You get a HIN # when you. Buy a complete boat.

I Love it !!!! You are awesome my friend !!!!!
howdy wes have u actually sold any yet?
Been selling them for 10 years now. Several of these big ones.
Because its so modular... If you want to narrow it down from trimaran to catamaran, or shorten the length from 21ft, doesn't it need re-registered since you've changed the boat?
Every State has different laws about that. Here in Florida, I register one 12 foot (Home Built Boat) then swap out the kit in the middle kit for another configuration. However, if I were to reconfigure it to a 20 or 24 foot craft, it would need a registration of its new configuration. That's still not a difficult thing to do, you just need to pay the fee for the larger boat. Sorry to take so long to get back with you, youtube is not notifying me about comments anymore for some reason, and I have hundreds of videos up now.
We sold our pontoon boat and now into small boats for primative camping
Where do you get the aluminum planks?
American metal suply

That's just bad ass.
How much is it?
Less than 3K
If love to buy one of these
I got plenty to sell.
@@Expandacraftboatshow much is one going for?
@@stephenlane6679 Depends on a few factors, do you want my decking and if so, how many decks, or do you want to build your own deck? The prices for the hull parts are listed on my website and you simply add up the total of which length you want and how many hulls you want. Two 16 footers or three 20 footers? The choices are endless, so I can't give one price for a boat that is modular and can be configured in many ways. Think of it as the Lego boat, what would you like to build today?
Cool.
I have to ask, how did you get that registration lol. My dmv would probably laugh me out the office. Very cool.
herewegofans . simply register it as a home built boat. No issue whatsoever
J. Wesley Stevenson love the boat. And that's awesome. I guess with the point that many on water have bad registration or none at all, you're a welcome change lol. Again, very cool. Take it to everglades and sleep the trails. Bet that would shine there.
How the hell can you see where you’re going if you’re sitting in a seat with the big tent in your way?
I'm tall.
Dear friend
How mutch for this formation
Under 3 K
No, we don't sell engines, sorry.
There are many components to creating an amazing design. One plan I found which successfully combines these is the Denelle Boat Builder (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most useful info that I've heard of. Check out this amazing resource.
Less than 3 K
I was wondering where this was in Florida? The water looks very clear so I'm assuming it's not a lake. Here in Central Florida most of the lakes are pea soup green.
This was just inside the pass from the Gulf to the intracranial waterway at Bradenton Beach.
Mike how far are you away from north kissimmee? I know some crystal clear lakes here...
I live in Lakeland. I've been to Lake Toho in St. Cloud but other than that I've never seen much clear water in your area. Thanks for the response and what lakes am I missing?
i.imgur.com/kOFrsmj.png
lake is spring fed, hence why its stupid clear. during the day with overhead sunlight I can see at least 5 feet down.
this is the only way to get on this lake.. its a public boat ramp, long forgotten, but it's still used [clearly] the area isn't terrible, just don't park your car on the ramp itself while ur on the lake, move it infront/behind the palm trees there. nobody's gonna ticket/tow your car for being there. but do keep your trailer locked, and car locked while on the lake.. nobody's gonna smash windows, but if you make it easy, someone MIGHT take advantage to steal something out of your car, one drive through the area and you will know the type im talking about, you're also not getting a BIG boat out there, the channel that was dug for the ramp is filled with lots of random trash like car tires, and currently a tree that fell over it.. I and some friends where talking about cutting the tree out of the way we just didn't have any chainsaws or rope long enough to move it. Also right now because the lack of rain, the water over here is SUPER low, I'm talking like 2 feet lower then normal low. at least...
and you need a boat to get out on the lake, there's no where to shore fish from.
This is very good and helpful. Thank you. When I am in that area again I will make efforts to check it out. Clean lakes and ponds unfortunately are rare in the Lakeland area. I very much appreciate the information and the effort you made to get it to me (and others).
very cool but make the tent from fibreglass for more durable temp shelter.

great invention
Where did you get your pontoons?

bummer about this use of petrol engine- no nu motion generation
We have tested electric on this boat too. Got 5 MPH with an 85 lb thrust motor which lasted for 3 hours before I ended the test because I was hungry and the motor wouldn't stop.
what a perfect platform.... ideal
Looks great sitting on the shore but sure would like to see it actually in use.
We plan to post a number of videos of the newest 21 footer in action soon. Stay tuned and be sure to follow us as we post on our adventures.
awesome awesome
A GREAT Idea !
great idea would not be hard to put solar on top and electric motor for drive
Dive board, just need it a little longer
That would be easy to do. Simply add another 4 foot section and presto! It relay is only limited to your imagination.
👬
Well I didn't see it fitting in a pickup
Check out some of our other videos and you'll see how they break down.
could I sail this to Hawaii from San Francisco?
davetileguy sure, if you are crazy and have a death wish.
Are you trying to re-create the Fat Chance Row?
Not sure what that is.
Two people Row'ed from California to Hawaii, he asked if he could sail this set-up from Frisco to Hawaii, so I figured he wants to try the same thing.
I imagine one could do such a thing but these boats were designed for recreational use.
Nice job!
Sweet
Cool concept! Wish there was sailing version
Oh there is one already!
Just subscribe to my youtube channel and you will see lots of sailing Expandacraft of all kinds. Remember too, it's modular, so your imagination is the only limit.
😇
You can actually go 8 feet 6 inches (102 inches) wide and still be legal on the roads. When I drove tractor-trailers I many times pulled one-oh-twos.
Yes, I made this one to fit a trailer which has guides that brings the total width to 102.
😱
молодец))) ЛАЙК!!
would like to see this size with the canoe in the middle.
That would be a HUGE expedition style boat.
yes. A bit like your outrigger canoe kit but with the big outriggers and more deck plus some kind of 12 inch canvas splash walls along the outside of the deck. With the canoe in the middle, passengers could sit on the deck on either side with feet in the canoe, and table between them when needed. Benches could fold down to be beds, and a tent/awning could be above them. Maybe use a a gheenoe or narrow skiff/jon boat rather than canoe for the middle. It could be a good camp boat. Up here in Ontario some of the most beautiful crown lands are only accessible by boat (e.g. thirty thousand islands), and such a boat would allow us to go for a few days.
We have put several different canoes in the middle but my favorite is the sailing 12 footer, it's just so slick that it moves well with just a whisper of wind.
supermodel in tent hahah
KEREN
Reza Aditya kits for the 20 footer start around $2500.00 but you have so many options to build your own deck or crosstubes. Also you have a choice of 3 hulls or 2.

How much cost?$

J. Wesley Stevenson BEAUTIFUL BOAT MY FRIEND SALUT 🙋👊

If you make it out of PVC pipe it can cost less than 1/10th of that
$3,000-with the advantage of being very easy to repair, just about
anywhere in the world that has a modern civilization.
lol under 3 k is BS, that same boat on his site is set at $3,780.00
That longer plank that you intend to cut off, would make for an excellent "diving board" or something.
What does this setup cost?
That one runs about $2800 without the motor.
I'd be very interested If it was around $1000. At the price you're asking it's not really what I would call affordable. It is a great idea though.
Well, it's about $1000 less than a Hobbie fishing kayak. Not sure this could ever get to be as cheep as you mentioned even if it were made in China.
I try and avoid anything made in China. I might have to stick to the PVC pipe raft.
Hi I'm the website admin for Expandacraft. I've just updated the catalog with this configuration. Before in the catalog, you would have to add all the individual components to your cart to figure the price. Without the aluminum (which you can source locally) it is $2409. With the aluminum decking and cross tubes it is $3479. Expandacraft is made in the USA (not China). expandacraft.com/product/21-foot-tri-hull-expedition-boat-with-aluminum-deck/
