    Convinced me to ditch my old gun defense knowledge.

    This is good, i recall using a similar technique taking the xbox controller from my older brother back in the days. A few personal strikes in there too at times

      @@ZugZugMahogny haha. Those personal strikes do the trick.

    If you pull the slide a bit - the gun will not go off. Just a note that if you grab a gun and move the slide it becomes a bit safer.

    I don't know how all the trainers are made, but a fully loaded pistol is fairly heavy compared to a plastic replica so even just slapping it offline is going to have a different effect . Hold a 16 oz weight in your hand with an extended arm and see what happens . It's worth factoring in .

      @@BradYaeger thanks for the comment brother. This training gun mirrors the weight of a real pistol.

    You should do a video where you drill this with a fully resisting opponent.

      @@WhenYouveGoneGuru that’s a good idea. Would be cool to watch it play out. I’ll throw that in the queue.

    Few things to keep in mind... you're sort of treating this worst case, like a criminal with a gun to your head will be ex military or police with firearm classes/discipline.
    1 - The guy who holds a gun on you with two hands, in proper gun trained military stance, not up to your face... is maybe less likely to be murderous, you can talk your way out.
    2 - A gang shooter, who will pull the trigger for any minor perceived lack of respect, might do something stupid like hold it to your forehead with one hand. (or it's a drive-by, no help)
    3 - Fighters... guys like you who train, usually aren't the guys starting fights. A fighter who can slip a jab and parry a punch... that move you showed will be quick/second nature.

      @@RealYRM solid points. Obviously I can’t cover every scenario, but this question was posed to me so I wanted to cover the topic. Thanks for the comment 🙏🏻

      @@SeanTopGunKennard Great video... plus, not bad to cover a worst case. Maybe an ex-cop is drunk, thinks you hit on his girl, and you've got someone with gun training holding a gun at you with two hands, and they're staying safely out of striking range. Not a great situation to be in. Plus, what you demo-ed is reasonable, easy, and similar to parrying a jab.

    I mean, I imagine someone that pulls a gun in close quarters, haphazardly, to posture probably isn't well trained with it. So give it shot maybe?
    Don't think any actual gun guy would do that though. It takes away the whole range advantage of using a gun.

    • @SeanTopGunKennard
      @SeanTopGunKennard  15 днів тому

      @@IkaikaArnado true, but it’s crazy how many times I see videos where this actually occurs. By no means common, but in case it happens, a reality based approach is necessary. This particular video is in response to an earlier video I posted where a guy pulled a gun on someone in very close quarters.

    • @IkaikaArnado
      @IkaikaArnado 15 днів тому

      @SeanTopGunKennard I'm agreeing with you. Again, if someone is gonna draw that close, and not fire right away, probably isn't well trained. One should never posture with a gun in close combat range, they'd be asking to get disarmed. If one has to draw from close they should shoot from the hip then back up then find the target.
      I'd probably prefer someone to draw a gun in close than a knife. If you can get your hand on the barrel and force the first round out without getting hit, the gun is dead till they can rack it.
      Either way I wouldn't want any pulled on me.
