Thank you for doing this one! Not too many people have done this as a review yet since it is still audio only since the album came out during the height of Covid last year. It has definitely turned into one of my top favorites from them. I like you perspective of composing/the music theory type stuff as many of those that I watch that review voctave come from the voice teacher side. Can't wait for it to get a little closer to the holidays for the wonderful renditions they have especially O Come All ye faithful, Mary Did you know (feat writer of the song Mark Lowry) and You're a mean one Mr. Grinch. In the meantime if you want some of their more fun arrangements, the 90 Disney TV Medley is fun as well as the heroes and Villians Medley. The Trolley song (which they just put the video out for) is cute too and is funny along with the great Medley.
Ok, one of my all time favorite sound tracks and my favorite track from it is Through Heaven's Eyes as performed by Brian Stokes Mitchell in the original. That being said, this was just an awesome arrangement and I didn't miss a single thing from it. Love them and am so glad you did this one
Love your reactions and analysis of what Jamey has done with these arrangements. Your analysis and breakdown of may they are doing makes listening to them that much more enjoyable because one can understand and appreciate how much work they put into this, especially Jamey Ray. I appreciate his gift for arranging more and more.
Good reaction. A few to many stops but better. There are so many spectacular parts you have to stop. More Voctave please. Thank you for reacting to Voctave sons so quickly. Give Someone like you a try. You will love it. I have suscribed to your channel. Please pass the word about Voctave to your younger friends. Your generation of music students needs to know about them. So much different and better than the other 4 or 5 person popular groups. They are the best, in my humble opinion. Keep learning, progressing, and improving.
Not sure if you’re a musical theatre fan, but their version of “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen (with a virtual choir) is amazing. Large focus on the tenors/baritones and Jamie Ray (arranger) is a large soloist.
I would like to see you react to their “great movie medley” there’s kind of a hidden meaning that I want to see if you can catch it. Others have and others have not.
Hey man, fellow classically trained musician / brass player here. If you like harmony, the Prince of Egypt and have an appreciation for talent, all of which I've seen here.. I think you will get a kick out of Sam Robson's acapella version of Deliver Us. I don't want to give the game away but he is very unique and I think his stuff will be very much to your taste :p He has done a lot of other stuff reaction worthy, including other PoE tracks, but his version of Deliver Us is a masterpiece!
