25 years and they finally make the greatest DreamWorks movie into a stage musical.
The West End one was in 2020
i didn’t know they made a spirit stage musical, must be hard to teach horses to sing
So great!❤
Greatest movie*** 😉
Didn't Shrek had one in 2008?
The way the dancers became the water and carried the basket around the stage was breathtaking! So good!
My thoughts exactly - what incredible choreography!
One thing I noticed in this production is it didn’t scrimp on choreography
Yes, truly! 💗💦
GLORY OF GOD - GLORIA A DIOS❤❤❤❤❤❤
There are many great staging ideas in that show :D
This show deserved a bigger budget. For what the actors had to work with they did an amazing job
Why are slaves white and Masters Black??
Why is Moses mother white and not Arab??
Why is Pharo's wife white and not Coptic/Egyptian/Arab??
And they did not make pyramids with slaves, that's what white romans did not Egyptians.
Racism flows through your blood. disgusting person
@@shahrukhkhan8307
@@shahrukhkhan8307 someones clearly never seen the film. what a sad person you must be
@@whitnii-eu8vy I don't care about movie, I care about real history of Arabs/Hebrew/Egyptians. Which was not like what movie and the musical portrays.
@@shahrukhkhan8307 casting limitations
The use of ballet for the Nile is so clever and beautifully well done.
I only remember Ofra Haza when I hear this song... Gone so soon. She dubbed this song in SEVERAL versions in the original DreamWorks film. If I'm mistaken, she sang "Delivery Us" in every language the film was dubbed in. Extremely talented! May she rest in POWER! 😔🖤🌹
Yes, and the animators for the movie were so impressed by her that they drew Yocheved to look like her. ❤
Well she didn’t dub EVERY language but I think she did about 18 of them.
Did she die?
She also sang beautifully in The Sisters of Mercy's Temple of Love
@@Daisy30y03yeah 😢
Saw the movie again when I was pregnant. Had a phase with disney. Now my daughters name is Miriam. And I don't regret nothing.
The lady that plays Moses' mother has such heavenly and powerful voice. I can't get over it!!
Yes her Name is Mercedesz Csampai
I just have to say-THEY PICKED A GOOD ACTOR FOR CHILD SISTER HER PERFORMANCE GOT ME IN *TEARS*
Miriam
It's just a little confusing though, because in the actual Bible, Miriam was cursed by God after being racist towards Moses' black wife and trying to usurp his authority.
@@r.jclark4641 and then shes black in the play... 💀
If my 4 month old is upset, me singing River Lullaby is the only thing that will calm her. Deliver Us is such a beautiful piece of music.
I used to sing that to my horses when I was working in their pens, cleaning sheds out and such. They often would come near me, and rest while I sang. I sang that one, I also sang All the pretty little ponies and same thing.
I couldn’t sing it to my baby without thinking about being in that mummas position and just bursting into tears. The strength it must have taken to trust the universe to protect this tiny human and that you will potentially NEVER see them again.
I am already middle aged but still sing this melody to calm down... 😊🎉
Besides circle of life, deliver us is want of the best opening scene from animated film
Deliver Us destroys Circle of Life as an opening. You gotta have some big fucking balls to start your kids movie with slavery, whippings, and infanticide
The original Israeli singer, I can’t remember her name, who did the Prince of Egypt soundtrack was absolutely incredible.
Ofra Haza, R.I.P
@@Cashiyado thank you, her voice honestly sends chills down my spine.
I’d pay anything to see this show ! Absolutely stunning and breathtaking !
There isn't a time that I haven't cried watching the film or listening to the music, since I was a child crying with this film (I’m 25 now so almost 20 years crying every time I see it). I definitely couldn't watch the play 🥲
Ps: and yes, I cried watching this
The mother and the sister's performance made cry....
I really liked the musical of Prince of Egypt. I think it was a great musical. I saw this musical when I was in the airplane and it was really great.
The last Deliver Us line....... Jeez... Chills everywhere!
Just watched the entire musical (you can rent/buy it digitally). Everyone must see it. It's magnificent. A triumph. An absolute 10 out of 10 without hesitation. Amazing! Incredible! WOW. It really, really, really is that good!!!! What a privilege to have seen it. Such a gift. Don't hesitate renting or buying it. Blown away! Thank you to everyone involved in this theatrical triumph. Just, WOW!
Where can I buy it? I know the movie and the music is pure magic!
Where did you rent it from? Asking for a friend
@@racosta0511 Amazon Prime
Where?
Peter please I have to know where I can watch this musical
…I’m not crying. You are crying. 😭😭
(Seriously the woman playing Yocheved is amazing. Right up there with Ofra Haza’s original performance.)
Can’t believe I didn’t realize they turned the greatest 2D animated movie ever into a musical. I’ll have to check the whole thing out now.
The girl who played Miriam-Her voice is beautiful
Whenever I hear of this song, all I can hear is Ofra Haza!!! That pathos in her voice! May she remain immortal...
I'm not faithful anymore, but when I hear the "send a shepherd to shepherd us!" It always gets to me
Sitting here 9 months pregnant with my son while listening to this… yeah, I’m bawling 😭
goosebumps. Incredible singers and dancers
I wish they had this in America 😭
One of the best opening numbers in a musical. I was so afraid that the stage musical wouldn't be able to live up to the pure magic the movie had, I'm thrilled to see that I was wrong. Great work to all involved really.
This song sends chills down my spine every time I hear it.
When the movie was released in theaters I cried when I heard this song; left the theater, bought the OST, cried again, and again when I watched it at home when they released the VHS, and I just shed a couple of tears while watching this video. LOVED IT and alway will.
One of my favorite OST songs ever.
true
I loved the movie, and shared it with a friend of mine in college. She started WEEPING during the Hebrew part of “When You Believe.” It meant everything to her that they got that right.
The musical score from this movie is so worthy of a musical
“Deliver Us” is such a powerful and beautiful number! I absolutely love it.
And I’m so glad this show is available to see digitally, I watched it last month and I was mesmerized!
*I watched it on BroadwayHD!
where pls? I'm looking fwd to it
@@milosretrogaming6191 I used a free trial of BroadwayHD through Amazon Prime!
Where can you watch it digitally??? :O
@@SillyKatt69 My question exactly. I know its supposed to come out but not sure when.
@@beckygarza9348 it is out now
So beautiful 😍
In the scriptures Miriam asks if she can get a Hebrew woman to be Moses’ nurse, and Pharaoh’s daughter agreed. So she fetched her mother, and pharaoh’s daughter paid her to nurse Moses ❤
Why did she ask for a Hebrew nurse?
@@devannyblanco3309Though I haven't read the scriptures, i'd say it's presumably so Yocheved could still be with her son, and she'd have better work than the average Hebrew. Nobody had to know that was Moses' biological mother.
@@devannyblanco3309 because the Hebrew’s were their slaves, but obviously Miriam chose her mum so that she could be with her baby. The “nurse” would breastfeed and raise the baby, so it would fully uproot their life.
god granted a mercy
well that’s convenient
Breathtaking performance!!
No one will ever be Ofra but this woman is phenomenal!
That river dance was just incredible - a testament to the power of dance and live theater in general! The technical skill and passion on display is astounding.
2:29 the harmony is so beautiful
Yaaaaaaaaasssssss! I teared up.
For me 4:14 sounds angellic😍
Imagine what they would’ve done with a bigger budget….I have goosebumps and involuntary tears just from this performance alone 🙏🏻
Kid Miriam's voice is so adorable.
The part at 1:53 and then leading into Moses being placed in the river… immediate chills.
I couldn't stop giggling during the river scene when the dancers were rolling or when the basket was being floated around with the wrapping only
Any chance this musical will ever come to Broadway?
Woooow now 34 and looking with my OWN children to the movie and musical and still heartaching with this scène…. I take da deep breath with a tear on my Sheek and take my Children with me
The actors were really amazing. I mean if they weren’t amazing and I didn’t like their performance I wouldn’t be commenting, but honestly, they’re performance was great.
I can't stress just how amazing this musical is. Worth every minute of your time.
Deliver Us is one of my favourite musical numbers from ANY musical. The fact that the same feeling and aura was brought onto the stage and portrayed gives me chills. I cant wait to see this.
My heart beats for metal... But everytime I listening to these masterpiece, it brought my to tears... Perfection😮
that choreography is BEAUTIFUL and so effective in storytelling oh my
Absolutely mesmerising.
I was gutted when this closed on the West End and despite the announcement it was filmed I doubted it would ever get released.
I’m so grateful that everybody who didn’t get the chance to see it live now can!
The choreography with the basket was ingenious. I have to watch this.
I felt that whip at the start. 💀😂
I got to see it live before it closed and you feel it even more there, the sounds more intense
I have something in my eyes, I´m not crying!! :(
"Don't you dare question my reasons, just know I have them." I will live by this now.
This was beautiful. I love how the dancers became the river. And Yocheved's emotional vocalizations in this song always get to me. I'm going to have to rent the full version and check this out. Love the original movie!
The use of the ensemble gives me chills. Dancing and singing is amazing.
I can’t believe I had no idea this was even being made into a musical!! This was gorgeous and absolutely impeccably done!! Also, shout out to the casting director for the chorus for delivering us the most hunky, emotive bois humanly possible, bless you 😇🥰💕
There's finally a Broadway show? Oh my goodness!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
the river choreography was beautiful
The part where the mom is singing to her baby, and then the river was always heartbreaking to me. But now that I’m older and a mom myself, her song made me cry my eyes out. I can’t even imagine the heartbreak of having to send your child somewhere else, but you have to so they can be safe. Absolutely wonderful performance.
Been waiting decades for this to become a musical!! ❤❤
Mannnnn I'm blinking back tears fr why am i just now finding out that this animated masterpiece is a musical in 2023!? The young actress as the role of Moses's sister was amazing!!
Please bring this show to Chicago
I went to the theater to see this movie in 1998. (I also saw Lion King 2 in the theater that year) I was pregnant with my first child, and I cried like a baby. Hearing this brings me to tears again and back to the awe and wonder of the first time I heard this beautiful song. Now, other people can see and hear what I saw 25 years ago. Thank you and congratulations to the cast of this musical and for reminding all of us how incredible this and all the other songs are.
The river scene is GORGEOUS! This song alone has challenged my doubts about this musical.
Wonderful!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
WOW!!! the singer in the oprah haza part does a great great job!, i need to see it live!
I'm in tears 😭😭😭😭❤
OMG Are they singing live? This is amazing, so much respect for the artists
They sure were. Aren't they great?
I'm so glad I found this. Wasn't expecting to cry during almost the whole number, really strong and beautifully delivered.
i love how every amazing musical is just so.....
far away.........
I wish they had a bigger budget but the VOCALS were unmatched!!
the ensamble cast REALLY emotionally move me thru their micro interactions and their movements from the individuls being the walls around the mother to the water carrying the basket, i was in tearss
Deliverance, what a perfect name, for you have been delivered to me.
I burst out laughing, what a funny way to twist things 😂
I saw this on the opening day in London as it's always been my favourite film (animated and non-animated) and it was absolutely amazing. I love Musicals and this fit so well on stage! Will always be a treasured memory of mine.
I cried the first time I listened to this ❤
This is beyond beautiful and the way the people formed the house and... just beautiful. So amazing. Thank you to every single person involved in this.
Wow, what beauty, I am happy this exists.
This whole song is breathe taking they did it so beautiful and naturally
No doubt one of the best dreamwork musics in my mind
I've always loved this song, but it's never made me cry before. This version put tears in my eyes for some reason. Very well done!
That song always makes me cry, seams like beautiful musical ❤
tears....every time....just absolute perfection. If ever there was a movie that DESERVED to become a musical, this is it. BRAVO!!!
I would sell my kidney to see this show live.
I be playing this song from the movie to sleep haha classic movie
This show is outstanding. So glad I saw it live. The ensemble are really what make this show. They are just incredible. The amount of work they do is just incredible
I just want The Road to El Dorado to be a musical. It would be the most bomb comedy
Didn’t expect to cry tonight. This was beautiful.
I can´t believe how a well known song from a well known movie can be this impressive!
There will be many, who click herein, that seven and half minutes is too long.
Nope!
Magical, Divine and Uplifting music is never to be found greater than this!
WARNING! Don’t watch this while putting on makeup when you know the song makes you cry anyways. They did a beautiful job on one of the best opening numbers of a movie EVER.
I didn't know this was a play musical... I used to love this movie as a kid. I was also in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I would have been freaking ecstatic if I got to be in this one.
Amazing!
Saw this in the West End on their day of re-opening (post Covid) in 2022. Very emotional all throughout and they had the best cast! I wish I can see them again in West end
the prince of egypt has always had some of the best music, i was just waiting until someone else saw that and made it into a musical
The word is SHOOK!!!!!! *goosebumps for days*
I watched the DVD version and it was superb and so moving! The best stage musical I have watched for 2023.
Amazing performance! So glad this amazing musical was given a chance ❤
I knew the music would be epic but omg…. The choreography…. How on earth can beauty be so close but hard to reach
The image of Jochebed praying at the mercy seat was just lovely.
I WANT TO SEE THIS LIVE ONCE IN MY LIFE 🥹
This was the first musical I've seen since moving to London right before the lockdowns. It started my love for musicals and my goal to see as many musicals and shows in London and around the world as possible ❤
My favorite song from The Prince of Egypt! Beautifully done. Praise God.
I'm literally crying while watching. This brings back a lot of memories of me as a child watching Prince of Egypt. This part of the book of Exodus.
O PRÍNCIPE DO EGITO MERECE MAIS RECONHECIMENTO !
