THE WELD SAVED ME YEARS OF TORTURE BLESS YOU MAN!
Booleans were always frustrating for me, glad to see the issues are fixable!
Duuuuuuuude, weld is awesome, I suffered so much not knowing about it! I manually deleted vertices and rewired the edges just the last night! Thank you!
Very helpful. You're an excellent tutor. Love your Robotic Planet Class!
This was a great debugging video! Thanks for putting this together!
Great video. Informative and concise, and a common trip-up with booleans too.
Thank you so much! Suffered a bit for these kinds of issues, now I know where to look for the solutions.
I have used booleans a lot after a few months foraying into hard surface stuff because theyre just so darn practical. But my word are they also frustrating, learning how to diagnose their issues has been a pain.I think this is one of, if not the best video to assist with any issues you will run into (in most all cases) seeing as I thought I had gotten porked by every possible issue already. But lo and behold, face orientation on the active boolean got me today and this video saved me an unknown amount of time as I had already tried most of what I knew. And not having enough experience to know what to look for I just looked for bolean issues videos again. So thanks for continuing to make helpful videos.
Thank you for the video!
thanks, I wouldn't have come up with the idea to put it on fast instead of exact, and now it works! I was starting to think the boolean just didn't work with a small/complicated mesh, but thankfully it does
This is by far the single most helpful video for 3D printing. you just saved my entire 6 months of work.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
never seen such a quality video of tutorial on youtube !
Very helpful.Thanks buddy.
Switching from 'Exact' to 'Fast' worked for me. Thanks a bunch!
Definitely going to enrol now!
That was super helpful, thank you! The Weld modifier fixed my problem :)
Thank you so much for the really useful video! 👏
thank you very much for this awesome tutorial
oh and thank you for the video. really appreciated it even though it didn't fix my personal issue
You are a life saver!!!! Thank you for this very valuable information! You just earned my sub!
Just a small tip for anyone, applying all transformations will reset your pivot point on your object, to avoid that just apply your rotation and scale
Thanks for the tip! :)
omg thank you so much for this!! So Helpful :))
Weld was the issue for me too where the hole I cut with bool was still filed in but I could see the cut where it should be hollow.
You are life saver my guy thank you!
Just a note for anyone flustered and confused by the boolean tool. remember to check ALL Y points that have z axis edges. I had 2 y points off by 0.000001 mm and it completely screwed the boolean tool. only took me 8 hours to find the fix. hope this saves someone some time!
thats professional tips from a professional. Thank you
great tuto
Awesome!
Much thanks to you!!!!
Thanks a lot.
THANK YOU !! I've been knocking myself out trying to learn how to "fix" holes in my models. Everything looks great until I slice - then I get the warning regarding holes, or my model not being watertight. No clue how to fix or repair. I've searched UA-cam for the answer and although there are so many people donating their time making helpful presentations with tips, tricks and troubleshooting procedures, none of them worked for me. Until now. Thanks for taking the time to help me with such a well done and easy to follow tutorial. Much appreciated.
thanks for your nice comment! :) Great to know our video helped ^^
Danke!
Very nice
Thank you! I was editing some STL files for 3d printing and couldn't figure out why the boolean operator didn't work
I love these videos. Thank you. What about when using text as the boolean? I can't seem to get that one to solve smoothly.
SVGs converted to mesh are.... a mess
I am almost done on robot 2!
1:16 Holy crap this WORKED
TIL there are a bunch of great selection options in the menu for fixing problems.
I've run into all of those problems - TAB 1 A M - by distance is up there with CTRL Z
I hope our video was helpful.

Addon boxcutter hard ops
it was the dam face orientation. everything was inverted for me. there should be a red warning notification telling you have inverted faces.

My difference and union are doing the same thing both act as union now
Спасибо за видео )
Ok I have a different problem Im making two armatures disappear and reappear right after each other. One boolean cube goes down second one follows at the same time. Problem with the second is for some reason when it gets to a curtain point, the armature is not moving... But the cube turns the same colour as the armature and seems to ignore the fact that I turned show in render off! Not only does it take the armature's colour but it when I go to my objects in my scene's list the cube doesn't have its name anymore it becomes the armature and then blender crashes! How can I fix this?
I am quite new to Blender. When I used boolean difference to make a hole, it shows the hole in layout, but not in modeling. Is that on purpose?
hi yes, that's because right now the Boolean operation isn't applied. To see it in edit mode, you must apply the modifier.

I have the walls of a building that i used boolean to cut the windows, but when i export in glb (i need this type of file) the walls are null objects and it corrupts the original mesh... Can someone help? It's an emergency
Did you apply the booleans before exporting the object?
does someone know what i could do if my boolean seems to be merging my two objects? i've tried basically everything. my normals are fine, i have no double vertices and theyre watertight too.
Hi, you can try to post your file in our community community.cgboost.com/home so we can check the file and try to help you :)
Same problem. Instead of subtracting it's adding my object. One object has subdivision modifier and other object is normal cube. 😢
@@moonchild6952 Hi, can you post the issue description with some screenshots and possibly the file in our community so we have some more information to being able to help you: community.cgboost.com/home

@@cgboost oh well. I booleaned everything individually all over again. Thkfully i got it after many hrs 😜
How did you mess some of these up to show the issues? I wouldn't know how to fake the scale to like 200 without atfecting the shape
I guess he did the reverse first and applied it. For example, he reduced cube by 50 percent, applied it, and then increased it to 200 percent. Same thing with the rotation.
Long hours spent in Blender let you experience all kinds of weird stuff and possible issues :)
thank you very much i am making morpher from Power Rangers Mighty Morphin and i have issues with boolean
Hi, What kind of issues do you have? You can describe them and post in our community to get proper help community.cgboost.com/home

00:33 how to bring up this panel
It's done with the Shift+Ctrl+B shortcut. The panel is identical as the one on the right side panel that's enabled by pressing N. There in the Edit section you should have Bool Tool panel (if you have the addon enabled)
No i git!
what do you mean by "impossibly flat plane?" unless you're talking about a face or plane that isn't flat (ie: a plane of four vertices with one corner on a different elevation than the others), i don't see what's wrong with the example given here...
A flat plane is an example of something "non manifold" since in real world we don't have objects that are completely flat. Even a piece of paper actually have a minimal amount of volum. So a simple plane can be considered as non-manifold object, since it couldn't exist in the real world as it is inside the program.

spot on
