Though it is 2 songs they use officially, the fight song vid will be officially counted as one.
For the California-Irvine anteaters, you will realize "ZOT!" This was picked up from one of the anteater characters in the comic strip, B.C. by Johnny Hart. It makes the sound when it flicks it tongue to catch an ant in the comic. It fits well, no?
The first song was made in 1985 so to give it identity from the other 8 UC schools (Now 9, counting UC-Merced as of 2006.) The second one, "The Big C" is considered the alternate now, but it was the fight song until 1985, and it was revived as the main in 2000 for six years. As it was the main since it shares it rivalry with LBSU, it is also the alternate fight song of Cal (UC-Berkeley) and the main song of UCLA, but the chant these three schools (found in the first song, chanted at the end of Big C for Irvine,) is very similar. "The Big C" is still popular to the alumni, and is played after "Anteaters Go!"
Profanity is not allowed when you comment.
