- Almost done with with my work day, I get a Emergency repair call…. But it’s on a septic truck. And that’s right. I have to crawl inside to make the repair. I’ve feared this day would come. Today is the day, I get down and dirty doing a welding repair on this sewage truck. This one was a joy to edit but a nightmare to make. I hope you enjoy it! Welding repair has never been so shitty!
Heres my Instagram- / meltinmetalmobile
Heres some tools I used-
Torch Tip Cleaner- amzn.to/3M7v64V
Fiber Metal Hard Hat for Welding Helmet- amzn.to/3HrYDmg
Hard Hat Welding Helmet Adaptor- amzn.to/3BX5YJC
Ok ...gang..just a note..if you are out there messing with sewage..get a hepatitis series ..then..dive on in and make your money..
Big respect to you for telling the guy how to do it right and not backing down. Ain't no point in doing something half ass just to have it fail in 6 months. This was one of those jobs you just gotta embrace the suck and get it done.
I have that conversation on most jobs. I just caught it this time
@@MeltinMetalAnthony they always gotta tell you how to do your job, but called you to come do it.
it comes down to the main fact that if he doesnt put his foot down and do it properly to his liking and half asses it like the customers always want, turns into a nightmare of customer complaints and them trash talking you when the job failed like you told them it would lol
Embrace the suck and weld that truck! 10-4. Earning a dollar can be tough right now but could not do this!

I agree . The last thing he needs is to find out that the septic company was written up for an environmental hazard violation for a leak ,,or,worse and then they try to come down on him for the repair job and try to attach him for a suit . Maybe they can’t but why go through the attempts and sopoenas and have your name dragged unfairly . I don’t blame him one bit . It’s a trade job for a professional and it needs to stay a trade job , for professionals . A good welder will never be satisfied with their last job . A welder I spoke of here on this channel always said after laying a bead , “ good enough for a government job “ . Nothing he ever welded broke . He had my respect always .
That dude looks exactly like someone in the septic business should look, his helper needs a friggin raise too. That guy ain't skeered 😆
That’s awesome! Gotta be about a $1,500 job for a day! Most people don’t make that in 2 weeks! Get-R-Done!!!💪🔥🙌 thanks for this one!
I love when a customer tries to tell you how to do something shows there understanding of engineering just isn't there, good for you sticking to your guns. This video will help people decide what might come their way getting into the welding business.
I never argue with customers . I explain my point of view and if they dont agree i do it their way. When it then fails down the road i usually get to re do it and double up my money. Btw working on a septic pump truck is for someone else not me .
@@patrickhickey8779 when their idea fails you get the blame, I would love to think I'll make double money but that is a double edged sword. I never argue with a customer either but there's a time to walk away from something and think of safety and quality then to think of profit.
I love how real you keep everything. And the fact that you’re constantly challenging yourself is truly inspirational. Keep up the killer work 💪🏻
As a 16 year old trade school student going for welding, I can certainly say I underestimated my sheer will to not vomit. Other than that, this still has not detoured me. Thank you Anthony, you’re my biggest inspiration and motivation to put up with the bullshit that gets thrown my way.
Keep at it buddy did the same thing your doing and am now a union iron worker keep following your dream
When you really need a pump out, it's actually a happy sight to see one of these trucks. Kinda cool to know what it takes to maintain them. The thing with welding is: whatever is on your piece, it's going to get volatilized and airborne with all the heat. It's nice to see you protecting your respiratory health, though. This is actually one of the best videos you ever did. Appreciate the hard work that went into making it.
The bloke crawling around in the truck scares the shit outta me. Great work as always.
Think i might just keep welding as a hobby lol. Great video
lmao
☠😅
Much respect to you for doing what it took to do the job and for insisting that it be done correctly!
Also, THANK YOU for including electrode type and size and the amperage you used and why. This information elevates a video from entertainment to educational level. Please continue to include this info. I learn something from every one of your videos.
Anthony I like the videos of the jobs you come across , keep them coming
Ok! Like wow! Anthony this job deserves a medal 🏅🥇 of honor! Few would even dare to do what you just did! This is like a standing ovation! 👏 bravo 👏!!!
You and the guy that were crawling in there need a bonus very hardworking work ethic
Mad respect, appreciate your candid commentary and that thumb nail drew me in
Worked on a job one time at refining company replacing and repairing some piping. They took dead animals, mostly cows, that dairys and farms would drop off and ground them up, separating bone from tissue and refining the fats and oils to use for commercial and industrial products, makeup, fertilizer, etc. We had two fitters and two welders while cutting, fitting, and welding the pipe. Not because it was a large diameter pipe (it was only 4"). It allowed the welders and fitters to take throwup breaks and switch out to keep the work flowing. The sludge that came out of those pipes was the foulest thing I've ever smelled in my life. Not to mention, it would spray all over the poor fitter that was cutting the pipe. You couldn't escape the smell because there were dead bloated animals in piles just 20 ft away roasting in the summer sun. Sometimes, they would pop and hiss from the gasses that built up in the carcasses. I will never ever work on anything like that again, sewage included. I'll drag up on that job on the spot. Mad respect, Anthony, your part of dying breed of real men.
A lot of respect for you man trying to help these people out even if just to make a video but also being insistent on doing the job right and not some half ass work or crawling inside the tank when most wouldn’t this is what speaks volumes about you from the rest!! Love the videos Anthony always a funny sense of humor too lol
thanks man
Good to see someone from my hometown keeping it real. Good content keep em coming!!
Thanks! Will do!
I GOT A LOT OF RESPECT FOR YOU BIG BROTHER RT I FOLLOW A LOT OF WELDING UA-camRS AND I AGREE YOU SHOW THE REAL AND THE UGLY AND GIVE KNOWLEDGE IM GLAD TO LEARN FROM THIS I HAVE HAD JOBS LIKE THIS MANY TIMES I MYSELF AM A MOBILE WELDING BUSINESS SO I APPRECIATE THE CONTENT
I appreciate the view!
“Liquid assetts” 😆
Hey MMA, I gotta say you are full of determination. Don't want to say what else you were full of about the time this job was finished. But it washes off and I bet it paid well.
Props for gettin' it done man. I hope you're up to date with your shots cause holy you might catch something doin those types of jobs. Take care of yourself man!
I am!
You gotta be, to even consider doing this type of shit..
Been in a few myself and also did some jobs on sewage plants. Gotta say, even tho you might not catch something serious, you may very well end up with a bad case of diarrhea... (been there a time or two🤪)
Thanks Anthony......for doing that for us! 😜 Better you than me! Never mind the shit.....I'm claustrophobic and just watching you guys going in and out of that tank was more than I could handle!
Man that so hard Work there , Glad you finished it without any risk )
Anthony love your video's and your work! Shit happens right....working the in the field and whatever pays the bills brother! Much respect and good health! Jp Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Hats off to you bro I love your videos and your attitude real and to the point no b.s. I'm a welder too doing it for many many yrs but I I'm not a fan of confined spaces not me I'll go as high as you want no questions asked I won't repair a garage door if there's not enough room to get my 6ft 2in ass out on the other end and it has to remain wide open while I'm in there indoors in holes not my thing and your videos are great and to the point some guy yap for 30mins and never show you what they're doing more than giving a lecture on b.s. we already know as if they're the main authority on metal science keep the videos coming keep up the good works be safe until the next video have fun
I thought I had it bad repairing trash compactors in the waste industry. I would’ve turned that job down regardless, that’s just nasty! Kudos to you though! Great job!! Hope it paid well! LOL
Awsome Job great seeing all different jobs u get 👍
Thanks 👍
You are a true hero for that job !
Wow to show you can work in that and get it done. You just made the world know , you are the one to call !
Great job dude !
Man I bet you meet some real characters in ur travels.
"I called my wife .....", "told her to get me a shitty pair of pants" - no pun intended!
Great respect for taking this job on and EARNING an honest living! No snowflakes allowed!
Meltin’ Metal, what a job! Love the honest candor and real world get it done attitude! However if that’s your “worst” welding jacket all of mine are junk🤣👍. Till the next vid!!

9:06 thats comedy 😂
Dude this is wild, mad respect. I work at a sewage treatment plant and have to do stuff like this on equipment that’s full of anything that could be in a sewer, so I know what it’s like to deal with that kind of filth. Where is mike Rowe when you need him lol.
🤣 exactly!
ive worked for a septic company (wife's family business) as their mechanic and welder as well as a septic installer as well. there have been a few times in the last couple of years that made me consider going out on my own but finally pulled that trigger, i run my own repair company now. though i will say maintaining aerobic systems is easy money as well
0:57 "heh.. ThAt WAs WAAAder" and shit............ you gotta beeee shiitin me with that one jimbo. I don't get how I ended up on this vid but here I am
Great job Anthony. Takin' care of the customer! Worst I had to do was change out a shit pump in a shit sump - but I didn't have to crawl down in there. Still, the smell made me want to puke. Keep up the good work and thank you for letting us share in your adventures!
im not a smell puke guy luckily lol
“That’s an old welding trick”🤣🤣
Love ur videos. U crack me up lol. Keep up the good work!
Lmfao 🤣 this one takes the cake! I’ve done some f*kd up welding jobs but this one has them all beat! Shout out to Anthony that one had me laughing the entire time lol
Right on
And I thought welding new fins in a concrete truck barrel was bad
Good on you for getting it done it sucked it was shitty but it’s done
Cheers from Nova Scotia
Do what you got to Do and get her done right👍👍👍👌business is sometimes rough and hardly any smooth jobs around BIG mess out there someone has to DO IT keep up the good episodes
Much respect most people look for ways to not do the job right on this one and you stuck to your morals even though you didn't want to.
Glad you're out there takin care of the field work, I'll stay at my bench 😂
It's a shitty job, but somebody has to do it. Keep being a positive influence, keep bringing the great videos.
💯
7:05, for this kind of work I have a nomex jumpsuit basically only coated me $60 on sale and it’s like fr cotton + great for these tight dirty work type of welding, I love it for doing truck frames.
that's a cool mini excavator there. Never seen one with pivot arm on the boom like that.
Well done man
Totally sucks to be you on this job. I was down in my garage welding up a home project this morning. Brand new 4130, all cleaned up nice then wiped with acetone. Amazing welds I must say.
What a nightmare.... I'd pass lol your a braver guy then I sir! 💪
Your wife is a real one for bringing you your older welding equipment so your newer ones don’t get shit on em
This is your specialty. ...
I was lmao watching u guys climb in the shit tank.. too funny.. great attitude getting the job done..
You're a better man than I am Anthony, watching was making me ill, I can only imagine how revolting the job had to be, whatever you were paid was only a fraction of what you should be paid on this job.
👏🏼👏🏼cap off to you sir!! I wouldn’t be doing that lol
Sometimes you gotta remind yourself that it all smells like money. Nice job
The job needs done! A good scrubbing in hot water with diluted bleach, you'll be cleaner than they day you were born!
When I was going to college I worked at a fast-food place. A couple of times a month the restaurant had a septic guy come in and clean out the big plumbing grease trap. It was always a very early morning job way before we opened for the lunch crowd.
Anywho, after a few months of this route I got to know the septic guy. He was a thin built man with a shaved head. The shaved head kept his end-of-the-day personal clean-up effort to a minimum. I pointed out it's a rather odd occupation.
He goes, "Yeah, not a lot of folks can stomach the filth and the smell. You get used to it, though. But, the filth and smell keeps everyone away. I'm my own boss with my own rig (vacuum truck) and if things keep going they way they're going, I'll sell the business and retire comfortably at 50."
Do what the other guys are unwilling to do!
Wife probably made you take a shower at a hotel room after that one 😂
Something you might find interesting bro ua-cam.com/video/Vo5DtKRFqEw/v-deo.html
Hell ya, shoulder poop stacks and all! Getting it done!
Keeping it clean Mr Wolf.
The end 😂 i felt that 👍 😂
I started welding on poop tanks, the used kitchen grease trucks were worse to be around. That riser pipe does need to be supported we always welded a 1/2” by 6” flatbar bent at a angle for a deflector
Been there done that don't feel alone
Like your channel, teaching myself how to weld.
Damn Ron!
I could tell you really didn't want to do that job. But kudos for getting it done.
I feel ya man. We clean out tanks at work. Mostly do big oil tanks or hazardous material. Here lately all we’ve been doing is shit plants. I guess they are the only ones spending money now a days. Everyone has to shit 😂
no doubt
love the hand motions sometimes you just gotta try to explain to people how shit works and how it's just going to break again doing the same shit lol
I was going to ask him to do mash up of those 😅
These dudes seem chill af
Dam..dawg keeping G 100% good shit!!!!
Damn Anthony, you got balls man! I work in a job shop. We do repairs on garbage trucks sometimes and it smells like burnt ass when you cut and weld on it.
Lol...
I've done that welded on garbage trucks, and trash compactors... I always compared it to burning dog shit...lol
Doesn't get anymore real than this. I was holding my breath during some parts of the video
This is the epitome of mobile welding, Anthony
No one can say you don't earn your money 😂😂 at least you have help.
i have worked on septic trucks just like that. dont recall them ever asking me to climb in one that was not cleaned tho.
yeah, these guys in the video dont seem right in the head
The guy in the blue is my grandpa 🙄😂
you the man Anthony
wow---dedication...
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I iwould have to be crazy to entrer in that tank, howevr I must admit that you are very good at your job
Let the pretty boy welders on UA-cam show their new fab projects, this guy is out there doing some real work. You can tell if you count up the number of F-bombs, it sure ain’t staged!
Damn pros to you crawling in that shit tank. Mad respect and respect to the guy thats in there pretty much the whole video. Cause fuck that has to be no fun. Love and thankful that you took this job for us cause you didn't have to do so.
lovin the content brother
thanks man!
@@MeltinMetalAnthony no problem, btw i really do look up to you
Where’s Mike Rowe when you need him!
Your the man bruh 😎👍
Again, GREAT work - QUALITY, and great RESPECT for you! But, I've just invented a drinking game - several of us watch the video and everyone drinks every time you say "shit"!
lmao you'll get drunk fast!
Last year the city of Spokane one of their egg digesters needed some welding their crew did a really good job at cleaning up the area that I was working out but it still wasn't that Pleasant.
Love it . U show what its like in the real world. Shits gets gross ,smelly and dirty ,thrown out many clothes cause mama would have shot me if i brought them in the house.
You should get a medal of valor for taking this job! That really is a tough way to earn your money. Interesting video.
I LOLed when your stinger fell on your head and had to watch it a few times
Grab you a Tyvek suit my man. You literally won’t get shit on you then.. haha this video is great.
That's a great way to break in your new boots
Once had to wear a hazmat suit and crawl into a crawl space under a restaurant where the sewer and drain pipes has been tied up to flimsy supports that rusted out. The pipes busted and had been dumping that crap into the crawlspace for a while. The crawl space was maybe 4ft high with a good foot of muck on the floor. We had to erect new supports so the plumbers could come in and fix the pipes. By far the worst job I've ever done.
Damn man that’s rough🤦🏽♂️ I guess it’s done and over with now haha
Thought that thumbnail was photoshopped 😂
