That's a great repair job with the inner pipe too. For any new welders you should know galvanized metal is toxic when welding so weld it outside, not in your garage without good ventilation.
I was an electrician/welder. My foremen were always electricians, but rarely did they have welding experience. One job my foreman came and took the fan out of our prep shop while we were away getting materials. We were making pipe racks to hang from the ceilings from galvanized angle iron. My foreman had taken the fan because he thought I was just using it to keep cool. He tried to fire me because I refused to weld galvanized metal without a fan or respirator. The superintendent came walking through with the rep from the plant we were working in about the same time as I was telling the foreman to go fuck himself in front of his fan. After a heated discussion, the plant rep told the super he didn’t want that foreman on that job because he was dangerous. We recovered our fan and went back to work, that foreman went back to the hall to find another job.
@@dangroce82 All of that could have been avoided if the foreman just asked what you are using the fan for. Sometimes the people in charge are morons. It is so easy to just ask!
@Andy F actually, it couldn't have been avoided because that foreman was an ass. We explained why we needed the fan and he just kept saying we just wanted to keep cool. He needed to go.
@@dangroce82 even if alls you guys wanted it for was to keep cool; wtf is the problem. A comfortable employee will get better, and more work done. A fan is a very low cost item to accomplish that.
The outro was priceless 😂 lol Anthony you're the man, good shit! I always learn something when I watch your channel. How to get it done in the field no matter the circumstances!
Love the video Anthony you have taught me plenty of tips and tricks to succeed running my mobile welding business I appreciate the knowledge you have spread
Anthony thank you for helping me progress in my welding skills. Your vid’s are to the point and make me laugh while learning. Glad I stumbled upon your channel about a year ago.
Number 100 you are a great engineer good at your welding 54 years ago learn how to weld Was told sounds like mum frying bacon in the frying pan how true the rest is HISTORY was 14yrs old then the person that showed me was in his late 60s
ANTHONY, Another example of a professionally done repair...Thank you for bringing us along! I myself weld tracks (thermite welding) also special track work weld build up! Running miller's ...at home I am running a horbart champion 145. Thanks ANTHONY! Jp Toronto Canada!!
I remember doing a similar repair on my old steel framed dirtbike. Nice piece of steel inside to bring back the strength and get the subframe from snapping off again! Clean work brother
That was one of the better videos I’ve seen here. Pretty ingenious method of repair. Sometimes those pigs don’t want to hold still for the lipstick. LOL Good job! Thanks for the good content and ideas.
As someone that does this all the time. You did a great job. Best part for you it was a v track gate instead of a full cantilever gate because then you have to grind all your welds completely smooth for the rollers.
Gotta get a chain jack man. I work in marine construction as a welder on a piledriving crew and chain jacks are one of the best tools we use. Makes those ratchet straps look like a child’s toy😂. Great video brotha you got a sun from me
Hey Anthony new welder here , first that was great fix i would have never thought of that. Second Galvanized fencing ive been told welds just like regular steel just throws off nasty fumes. What is you take on it welding it ? just found you last week already caught up to this video. Thanks
Hate those v rollers. Great job well done. I like those trolley systems that bolt on the gate, and it hangs from a track instead of sitting on it so it stays cleaner.
I just did a repair on the exact same kind of gate this week. Instead of the bend being in a small area, it stretched across about 4 feet so I went ahead and took it off and replaced the top and bottom rails. Huge pain in the ass to clean the ends of the pipe where I cut it off but you do what you gotta do. Great work man love the video 👌
Nice repair! Find these videos helpful with your explanations of why certain rod/metal characteristics change how you approach a job. Look forward to the next video. Cheers
That is one of the best repairs I seen on fence I would do something like that but one of the things I do with sleeves when you put a slug in like that is I actually drill holes into the fence pipe and plug weld the internal slave so it can't spin especially on a gate but that's an awesome repair used stick I would have used flux core 211 Lincoln innershield but whatever gets the job done and I always do the whole nine keep turning and burning bud
I need to move to the USA if you can charge $2,000 for gate repairs. I would be lucky to get $400 (£300) for that repair here in the UK. Looks like galv scaffold pipe, nasty stuff to weld up. Have made a lot of farm gates out of stuff. Ranging from 2ft wide to 16ft wide. It's have too. Great repair young man!
This was a nice repair. I thought you said it was going to be rough haha. Keep the content coming and looking forward to seeing the heavy duty welding truck out getting stuff done at some point in the future.
That was a Damn good fix dude. Would love to see the update with the wheels. . I was in the welding supply business for 25 years and love everything about welding. Peace ✌
I've never seen a gate that has wheels on the ground. Up here in snow country the gates like that have the wheels near the top of the gate and ride on a pipe attached to the fence so that when there is a two feet of snow the gate can still operate
i love the videos you put out! thank you for helping others with what you do! i see what you put for charging people. is there a good way to figure out what i should charge? i feel like im super low after seeing your videos and what you can charge haha thanks
welded a steam pipe on a roof that was next to an acre of dry card board waiting to be recycled it was windy and took the fire department half a day to put out.I did mention to the customer that wasnt safe they said they needed it done that day.customer is always right. I did wrap up off that roof before the fire department got there and they never said anything to me.After sleeping on it I think it was an insurance job
Nice job as always. I didn't notice, did you weld in the insert? like plug weld it or something? Those wheels on these gates are always screwed up. I live in Northwestern Canada and the snow, the salt and freeze and thaw cycles kill those wheels (even the ones with bearings) pretty quick. There's a local company that makes them with good seals and boots that cover the hub to keep crap out but they want a fortune for them.
Yeh, ya just got to be better than the other bloke. think about mounting a brush on the gate so it sweeps the track every time the gate opens and closes. making it self adjust for wear will be the trick
That's a great repair job with the inner pipe too. For any new welders you should know galvanized metal is toxic when welding so weld it outside, not in your garage without good ventilation.
💯 the respirator is essential

Thanks brother!
I’m in school for welding have got any hands on experience yet but i learn so much from your videos
I see that welding is more than just welding. There's rigging. There's prepping. And doing this safely without starting a fire. I'm impressed!!
Thanks for watching!
Anthony, you know we always like you. Cheers.
Thanks brother!
Love the video Anthony you have taught me plenty of tips and tricks to succeed running my mobile welding business I appreciate the knowledge you have spread
Glad to hear it
Great video. This is exactly the same as my last welding job before retirement
Well a little grease and a broom would go a long way to help that gate in the future. You do good work my friend.
Love your detailed work! You do your repairs much like I would. Don't appreciate the profanity but I know many welders don't seem to work without it!
For just a fence I don't think you could of done a better job. You're a metal and welding artist. Great job keep the videos coming I watch them all.
Anthony thank you for helping me progress in my welding skills. Your vid’s are to the point and make me laugh while learning. Glad I stumbled upon your channel about a year ago.
Glad to help
Your endings allways cracks me up, keep on rockin bro!

And way better than it was

I think i comment every time about your sign off at the end but dude it makes me laugh. Another great video, keep them comin boss
Thanks, will do!

I weld some a few videos back, just wear a respirator with appropriate filters, and grind the coating off before welding
Nice job, once again a good video on everyday mobile welding. Keep up the hustle.
Hate those v rollers. Great job well done. I like those trolley systems that bolt on the gate, and it hangs from a track instead of sitting on it so it stays cleaner.
You give me a good laugh with that outro. Awesome
Great video , The struggle is real with those wheels 😂
Tell me about it
I just did a repair on the exact same kind of gate this week. Nice man! I don’t mind these gate repairs, beats fabricating it
Run over it a few times in work truck that will straighten it haha
I can't do it better! Good Job! Greetz from switzerland
Love your channel. Basic explanation of everything you do. Great job
Good repair. Those motor driven chain link fence gates are a pain in the ass!✌🏻
much better videos than pro's in a shop where everything is perfect
The way you have your cut off wheels mounted gives me chills bud
Nice job Ant.... I always do the inner pipe unless there is no space.
Not only did I like this, I subscribed.
Nice repair! Find these videos helpful with your explanations of why certain rod/metal characteristics change how you approach a job. Look forward to the next video. Cheers
Good work. More love and care than it’s had in w long time.
Love the outro hope your weekend was good man keep up the good work
Really nice work, cheers from Sweden

Fantastic job as always. Got to love a ratchet strap to help and that toe jack is pretty cool.great video as always full respect 👍👍
Good job!!! it should be rolling good once the new wheels arrive that seems to be the only problem the repair on the gate came out good.
Fingers crossed!
This was a nice repair. I thought you said it was going to be rough haha. Keep the content coming and looking forward to seeing the heavy duty welding truck out getting stuff done at some point in the future.
More to come!
I have also used a ratchet strap to fix a bent gate on a track like that, you never know when one of those come in handy!
I just did this same thing. But I cut the bad parts out and fit a slightly larger tube over the old, because thats all I had. Worked out great.
Great job. Looks like what I do everyday fixing gates and operators.
Thanks 👍
Muy bueno el video y mis respetos por tu sinceridad hace falta mas gente asi😂
I’m definitely making a toe jack, damn have I needed one of those.
Great job Anthony.
I did a an almost exact same thing to shorten a (free to me) cattle gate.. Worked great.. I need to start bidding for paying jobs..:)
Anthony keep up the great videos man it's good to see how you show the step-by-step Saint how you do the stuff. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤘🤘🤘🤘
i live for the outros. keeping it real
That was a Damn good fix dude. Would love to see the update with the wheels. . I was in the welding supply business for 25 years and love everything about welding. Peace ✌
That was a great repair!! I learn a lot from you always!! Thabks for sharing!!
Very nice, I learned a lot as always. My 2 cents - consider getting yourself a portaband.
I always learn something from you Anthony! Thank you!
nice to see you using safety gear, pity about the grinder, no guard tut tut
back bone of America, buddy.
Blind man on a galloping horse would be glad to see it 🎉
In boilermaking it's called doing a sleeve on a rail ... Nice work
I like all the swearing! Real deal shit! Great work man!
Dude that's a perfect job don't get all jumpy maybe you should keep a couple 4in v track wheels on your truck like I do they comes in handy sometimes
" i dont make monkeys i just train em " favorite quote from Anthony
Put rigid bristle sweeper brushes on an angle next to wheel to keep track clean
I keep a 4 gallon weed sprayer full of water on my truck for little grass spot fires like that its very handy can also use it for washing hands
funny how much montana looks like florida!
Nice repair 👍
Thanks 👍

How do you prevent the tubing from rusting since the galvanized has been ground off for welding?
Just some cold galvanizing paint
Unless I missed it, what's keeping the smaller pipes inside from sliding around inside the larger pipe?
i love the videos you put out! thank you for helping others with what you do! i see what you put for charging people. is there a good way to figure out what i should charge? i feel like im super low after seeing your videos and what you can charge haha
thanks
I love the outtro
Nice work! Needs a brush in front of the wheel to push all the crap out the way!
Good idea!
Great work brother!

bocomal jackets are so good.
keep up the good work brother
2k for that? I'm in Cali and that price is.... Well pretty pricey. Don't get me wrong, great work but 2 k?
Love the videos man! Huge inspiration!
Appreciate it!
I really come here for the endings. I need that daily go @#$% yourself😅😂 Great work bud. Keep the videos coming!
UA-cam just sensored me 🤷
Why do you use corded tools instead of battery operated?
Elegancka robota majster.Pozrowienia
Galvanized my favourite
Love it I am tacking tips and learn ing on the way my price in California is $1.500 in California la love your videos forever
Fair play man good initiative good work funny F er 🤣
It might be helpful to get a water extinguisher you can fill it with a bike pump or compressor and water it's designed for class A use.
fucking love the vids. not really applicable to my line of work but the problem solving is top notch. keep doing things man!
where did you get your face shield while using the cutting wheel? got a link? i like that design. awesome video man
amzn.to/3UZr3N4
Great job! How's that Temco jack holding up? Do you find a toe jack a must have?
I fucking love that jack. Best I’ve owned
Yeh, ya just got to be better than the other bloke.

I fucking love this guy been watching him for years🤘🏽
Great job!
Are you back in Florida?
At $2000 for 6 hours seems high, can you elaborate on how you came to that number? I’m not knocking you for it, if anything more power to you.
Very nice repair! Remember when we could buy steel that was stamped MADE IN USA!!!
Right on
I never liked the track style gate support like that
Over $300 a hour to repair a gate fuck I'd of built a new gate and still had good profit
How could meltin not see the wheel was bad from the get go???
Good job
