The things that made me quit the game : - the most horrible storytelling/dialogue execution I have ever seen combined with the total lack of skip button made me not wanting to be interested in the story AT ALL because if I have to go through 99% of bloated and boring sh*t just to get the good 1% then I won't. - the community which are just a bunch of degenerated whiteknights without dignity ready to eat whatever Hoyo throws at them, thanking them and defending them for it. - the absolute lack of MANY QoLs which are present within the other games, especially those of the SAME company. - the disgusting practices of Hoyo concerning Genshin like the 3 pulls for 3 years, putting Mavuika and Citlali both in the first phase while offering the 20 pulls AFTER their banner ends, the current "no you can't play WuWa, only our game" policy towards CC's and many others. (and those are only recent ones lmao). - Dehya.

Things that are obliterating the game: 1- Skip button(At least for side quests...) 2- Not waiting 800+ days for a rerun character/weapon (PrimordialJadeCutter, Eula, Shenhe, Ganyu, kokomi) 3- Giving 5* to characters that aren't in the main story, weak or random(Sigewine, klee, chiori, emile, mizuki, qiqi) four* that should be five*: ⚪The governor of Liyue "Ningguang" ⚪Fatui with a rough past and trained by arlechinno "Lynette" ⚪A general of the Watatsumi Army "Gorou" ⚪ One of the 5 heroes of natlan "Ororon" 4- Improving QoL movement in the over world and revisiting extremely powercreped characters (Example: Dehya, monstat, liyue characters) 5- Instead of random NPC, make events with characters/friends that we know. 6- Focus on the main story(Why didn't traveler ask mavuika about the other twin? what a joke filler natlan ARC is) 7- Giving better reward(although now that is improving)

Funnily enough, we've been saying _for literal years_ that Genshin needed a decent competitor, if only to highlight the flaws within so that _EVERYONE_ can get a better experience in the long term. WuWa does a lot of things better than Genshin. Genshin still does a lot of things better than WuWa, and I'd hazard that thanks to WuWa's (kinda suprising) success that certain QoL features that we've been asking about FOR YEARS are finally arriving in Genshin. Granted, much of it is still half-assed and/or nonsensical (coughArtifactTransmutercough), but it's happening! Now, will Genshin give us the rest like artifact loadouts and removing time gates on upgrade materials? Only time will tell...

As well, Shorekeeper was introduced as a character Rover knew from their past. Shorekeeper acts like she knew us for a long time and Rover (who lost their memories) acts the same way? How are the players meant to form a connection when 1, she was only introduced, 2, their backstory was just told in the story and 3, it only took one patch to do so. I hope that the story will be much better going forward
I started day 1, it was fun, then the dev fatigue patch after patch wore me down, and now after not logging in for a month i got mauv and weapon today with whatever primos I had, then logged out, not even the pyro archon kept me logged in for 10 minutes, time to move on i think
Its funny how Hoyos community is known for ignoring obvious things and facts when it comes to critisim about there game. Genshin and Hoyo are like Pokemon and Gamefreak. They were good once...but just stagnated and ignored everything because they built a playerbase that is stupid enough to buy everything regardless.
I got a hot take. I dont hate Genshin. I think it perfectly fine for a casual sidegame to pass a few minutes during the day while I wait in line or to play during a break at work. On days off I will spend an hour or so playing. I spend 60$ a year for welkin moons and I am able to get every character I want. Not that big of a deal since I work full time. But I never spend anymore and I have been playing since launch day.
Gacha games in a nutshell. Problem is Genshin as a whole game didnt really do anything for its players over the years. And that will always rub me the wrong way. And it makes zero sense when ZZZ and HSR do things better. They're all under Hoyo. So why are the teams so independent of each other
That's exactly how i'm doing it. And even if i don't play it every day, i'm enjoying the time whenever coming back. Just spending a bit time and when i don't feel like it anymore, i'll go off. Don't stress about events, don't stress about Primogems. Don't let the game control you but you treat it like every other game. And it also makes you not burn out from it. I'd say it's the healthiest way to play Gacha's. And i think that's the casual way to play the game.
I play both games but genshin is more of a casual story game for me now when i feel like it. I also rarely play unless im with friends. This game can be really fun at some points, but at other points its really just dull
Genshin updates feel like they preplanned the whole game from the start and didn't even take into consideration the player feedback, the competition or the game fatigue after years of playing. Just resting on laurels, doing the bare minimum and hoping that most of the playerbase won't notice how much better other games got over the years.
Mihoyo pads their lack of content by having characters talk excessively and time-gate events so you have to wait for 5-7 days before you can do the whole thing.
Only now in Natlan or in Navia Quest, Traveler starting to use Multiple elements, but most of them are only for a second but dont play much roll in the quest
I feel as if the whole 'endless' replayability for gacha is gonna end up going against its own system if you theorize enough. 1. Gacha has had a locked system of 'theres a limit to how much you can obtain per day' meaning, no matter how long you play, you would always hit a cap that won't give you a huge advantage to other players. 2. Highly replayable games dont have that, in the form of ranking systems.(Ie. Valorant, League, Fortnite) 3. Other high replayable games that have no rankings have alot of player to player interaction(ie. Among us, fall guys, gta) 4. Other high replayable games that arent player to player centered, are focused on constantly playing to get significantly further(ie. Rougelike, Balatro, Inscription) 5. The remaining ones are games that have high skill ceilings(ie. Dmc5, rythym games) Conclusion: current gachas pretty much went full circle to the point they disincentivize players to play more than a certain amount each day, plus they are by nature pretty much incapable(or at least would face alot of issues) implementing systems that other games use for replayability like pvp. Im not saying these are thing that cant change, im just saying alot of these are for some reason poorly;or just not implemented altogether.
They'd benefit from having a pvp fighting game like an arena fighter, but that's a whole new game mode and if we can hardly get the bare minimum from Hoyo then we def ain't getting that! Would be cool though.

You mentionned how it's ok for genshin not to have resin overflow because you can make condensed resin. But Hsr has that too. Hsr has tokens that you can use for relics in simulated universe, they'r equivalents to that condensed resin in that each is worth 40 trailblaze power. The energy cap and the amount of the tokens you can get will also be increased in 3.0. So Hsr will have : an energy cap of 300, you can buy 12 tokens AND you have energy overflow in case you surpass the 300, up to 2400 reserve. I play zzz and they added the energy overflow there too, with a cap of 2400. They also have the energy overflow in HI3rd ! They are PURPOSFULLY not giving it to genshin to force players to log in each day.
21:00 the reason why genshin doesn't have a skip button is because they want players to waste their time to get the primos. Time is money, so if players want the primos from the "story" for free they have to play through the whole thing without being able to skip, to incentivize spending money for the primos instead. Don't want to waste time on the quest to get primos? Sure, swipe your credit card instead. Extremely scummy and this technique of making people spend money is not very well known by many. Here to spread the word so hopefully more people can see this and understand how scummy hoyo is, especially in genshin

43:55 Jiyan and Yinlin were Wuwa's first limited 5 stars. They're both still perfectly viable in meta with their own roles. Yinlin is a top tier support. Jiyan is still a top tier hyper carry. Also, Venti's ult not sucking in Klee's bombs in a bug that exists to this very day. And it's been complained about the entire time. But Hoyo doesn't give a shit because CN worships meta and Hoyo only cares what CN thinks.
i do agree having characters that have unique exploration mechanic is fine, but i don't agree that every exploration mechanic should be limited to new characters, especially when you make it a gimmick for every new character of a new region to have it. Wuwa has shorekeeper and lumi who has special sprint but they also make that mechanic available in the overworld. Changli and camelya has almost infinite airtime, but now we also have flight gadgets.

Honestly for combat cant say much since im just casual player but remember gi is open world game where exploration and story is main point. The story it self is good but the way they do the story telling is killing me, so slow at least put more cutscenes or expression in dialog scene. The exploration is only peak when chenyun valley was released with carp transform thing EVERYWHERE to explore the whole map
I agree, I love lore and exploration but Genshin made it so stale. I loved Chenyu Vale and Fontaine because it made exploration easier while allowing f2p players to get benefits. However with Natlan.. it’s so slow, even with the dragon things. I used to also listen and read every dialogue in Genshin but now, it’s so slow. I’ve just been skipping everything because I don’t care about the story, which is why I ultimately took a long break from the game

As someone who quit GI because the traversal mechanics suck ass, I fully believe any qol mechanics locked behind limited gacha pulls should only be upgrades to generally available qol systems (e.x. everyone gets a flight skill, but [Limited Character X] can fly a little bit faster.)

There is no need for discussion because when people hate something, they will find all the excuses to hate. No logic needed. Just like how every game is about repeatedly doing same thing, same combo etc and somehow they only hate genshin for it.
That the inevitable feeling of dread when you realize your favorite Arknights character might not return as clones in Endfield and might already be gone by the time the game release. 😢 Not every perdon out there is built to be prepared to see their favorite character name to be seen on a toomb stone, but it would be interesting if Kuro and Hoyo did off a couple of characters. Plus, Kuro does "off" their characters, at least in PGR, but only in a difgerent time line, the goal in that game is to AVOID that time line at all cost.

I was like, how do you love Xinqiu ? You only E, ult and then move on ... And the same for the others. I only like Wriothesley because of his cryo basics. Didn't care for the other pjs ...

Welp Shorekeeper only got sucked and trapped in limbo (deepest part of the tethys system) The system needs Shorekeeper's core (she a robot) unit capable of feeling emotions to function. It doesn't want to destroy her core nor overwrite it. Not really a live threating situation as drinking the most potent poison ever as a mortal then surviving. Hoyoshills for some reason can't understand Blackhole doesn't = death but instead is a portal. That Shorekeeper's a robot that can't die until her Core is destroyed or overwritten.

Whilst I agree that there should have been some consequence to the Shorekeeper situation, I'm of the mind that it would have been far too early to have actually killed and removed her from the story. For the shear fact of, she is literally the only character that currently has useful information, and can direct us on where to start. Meaning, if they did outright kill her, and remove her from the story, we would have been left to merely wander aimlessly. In fact, her storyline really *should* have taken place, later in the story. After we had properly set out, and built a trajectory of our own, and no longer needed her assistance in finding it. Or even, if we just needed it less.
Day 1 genshin player. And it was my first gacha. Also got Venti at my 1st 10 pull. Didn't understand it at first. But after playing for couple of patches the common sense kicked in and quit after that. And tried another gacha after 4 years.
Kachina died. That's one playable character. Of course, that only happened right around when a resurrection gimmick was introduced to the lore, so she didn't stay dead. I did enjoy the first two acts of Natlan though. Kachina actually had a decent story arc. The rest of Natlan was pretty bad imo. Then again, my favourite Genshin archon quest to date is still Sumeru act 2 (the samsara where you meet Nahida) so I'm well aware that my opinions on Genshin's story are not shared by the wider community.
Inb honai impact 3rd the were a few playable characters that died. First was Himeko and then there was Elysia and the whole Elysia Realm that got whiped out. In hsr Robin, Firefly and Sunday were temporary declined as dead and for some we thought they r for patches.

When it come to the event weps, they still do it. In festering desires case it was a wep not many care for. But then furina came along and it just so happen to be her best F2P wep. Sense then many more weps have came most are pretty meh till a character kit makes it the best option. This makes it a fomo wep as you'll never know what future character might need it.
FFXIV has nearly a decades worth of story/content, hell yeah it's gonna be long. They also do a much better job at setting up side characters, which in turn makes it longer again. With a lot of yap that gacha stories do just to prolong run time, they could use much of that time to spend it with the characters we're gonna roll for instead of NPC #21 that we'll care about for maybe 5min 💀
I played 6 months because it was in PS4... It was fun for a pass time free game, but when it become a gacha cycle I said hell no. I'm happy I jumped the ship early.

The "replayable" aspect is definitely lacking in some gachas. The most time ive spent in gacha games were HI3 and Arknights, because both have VERY FUN ROGUELIKE gamemodes that COST NO ENERGY TO PLAY. I could pick the characters i love and build them into massive genocidal machines that annihilate anything in 1 tap, or goofy things that do 40 damage per hit BUT 500 hits per second. Its very fun to fool around in shit like that and Genshin even had a roguelike gamemode too, where is it? If they just improved on that we would have another great endgame mode... but they scrapped it and gave us stamina management simulator? You literally just need 1 strong character to have stamina to fight the bosses and you usually 1tap them, my Arlecchino and Hu Tao literally solo bosses there and if you have shit like Neuvilette its even easier lmfao

I'm also a day 1 genshin player and put some money on the game but I left the game. The game is good, it has good story and gameplay and has a lot of content. The reason why I left genshin because of the horrific storytelling and too much bloated dialogue that make me wish that it has a skip button. Also having problems on some of the new character (Kinich & Mavuika) because their design is very out of place on the setting of the region. I mean they look like an isekaid MC character on a lightnovel for christ sake. Look at the characters of Mondstadt, Liyue, Fontaine and Sumeru, their design fit so well to the setting of the region and story. Also, lastly I just hate how Hoyo doesn't care about its player, it took them 4 years to give a character selector on their anniversary event and also all of the shitshow that happen like the 1st anniversary, that time (I think its live before lantern rites or something) they give 3 pulls for playing their game for 3 years, and many more. If Hoyo still don't respect its player, then I won't be going back until they do respect their players.
Here's the thing. The lore is good, but the actual story isn't. The lore is esoteric: the Primordial One and the Shades, the Seelies, the deaths of Baal and Egeria, Dragon Authorities, King Deshret, Remus. Theres souch history and information, and as a guy with a christian background, how Genshin handles the lore and aura of divinity gives me a lot of insight and empathy in my own faith. But the lore doesn't appear in the main story.
rewards matter more...i just want to collect gems to make my team work. combat...i like spamming my elemental burst animations comboing... i have c6 itto r2 and xilonen c4r1, zhongli c2r1, neuvillette c3r1, raiden c2r1, citlali c2r1. im not f2p... i just wish i have less content cuz i got a bunch of other gacha games -.- for a minute there i almost said i got life but no... i also play wuwa...got changli S0 with signature, camellya with signature, charlotta with signature...i do enjoy the combat it is fast. but i also actually enjoy the combat in genshin too. also that guy's video talking about more content, please tell me is he referring to more combat challenges or those non combat mini games.... i find those events to boring, and a waste of time...besides wind trace i find it to be fun the first one when i could keep the hunter chasing me the entire match until the next windtrace in inzuma where they nerfed the rebels -_- story quest... i wish genshin has a skip the entire conversation instead of skipping one dialog at a time. that is why in wuwa i cleared all the side quest but genshin's side quest...60 primogems for 1-2hr even if you spam the space bar or left clip in the whole conversation. at this point...f2p should just find a job... that is why my quest log is so long.

I stopped playing Genshin shortly after 3.0 just due to sheer unbridled apathy over Hoyo's laziness and complacency. I have no idea how people have made it to 5.0. Especailly after Kuro pulled up and showed people how it's done with Wuthering Waves along with Anata and Azure Promilia being right around the corner as well.

resin stuff is really garbage lets be honest.. storage is probably the best system.. and to keep faithful daily login players in advantage.. most of the overcap energy always have 2x time for 1 charge.. in this way those who dont play daily will be always far behind from daily grinders in terms of both resin/energy based farming and premium currency that u get daily.. biggest factor being the premium currency... if ur game doesn't have much to do in dry patches.. it should definitely have this system.. so players can grind once in a week for long time using stored energy without feeling doing repeated stuff.. also because of genshins dogshit days based mats farming... idk whats the point of that system.. its annoying from consumer point of view.. i also noticed it glaringly when any character release.. on that release date.. its always not that characters mat day.. so whales who wanna max out character on same day end up spending money on mats packages.. scummiest practice there is..
okay abt the exploration focused characters.. i have an opinion abt that as well.. im sad abt characters with locked behind paywall.. but its fine from business standpoint (again scummy behaviour).. but the problem is once u start using them in team.. theres no turning back.. like for eg. when xianyun came out.. and i pulled her just for exploration.. at the start it was pretty fun.. but later i noticed glaring issue in open world combat + exploration.. like lets just say i wanna play certain team for week having fun playing that team.. so i used to switch team very often in open world so i can have replayability and dont get bored using same characters.. but now i cant remove xianyun from team cuz shes god tier.. so i have to play around her now.. same with new characters like chasca, xilonen... ik its a nitpicky thing.. but i want freedom of playing teams that i want in open world without worrying abt mechanisms that make me constantly switch it or in this case not switch it.. in wuwa i dont need to do that.. whichever characters or team i play.. i can always run on walls and now in 2.0 i can fly as well (altho only in rinascita.. again not supporting this whatever the logic behind it)

If a gacha game doesn’t make me excited to do dailys. If the game feels more like a chore than an actual game…I quit. Why waste my time? Personally I like the straightforward non-openworld ZZZ gameplay. Maybe the game will get worse in the future. However right now the game is genuinely fun to play, satisfying, and it’s quick. I don’t have to wander an open world scavenging for morsels of primogems. They just give you 20 free pulls…just cause. I don’t have to waste my time with story if all I want is the rewards. All the same, I do think ZZZ still has a better story than Genshin even if you can actually skip in ZZZ.

I always loved story/characters and exploring in GI. Fontaine was definitely peak!! Unfortunately Natlan has not been doing it for me at all. Stopped playing half way through. Boring characters, hardly any male characters. Poor designs, characters being region locked and pretty much need Natlan chars to be at their best. And exploring is just bad if u do not have Natlan characters. These are only a few points why since Natlan I stopped playing GI....Not to mention all the recent drama with their treatment of their CC, quality of life updates etc!!!

The things that made me quit the game :
- the most horrible storytelling/dialogue execution I have ever seen combined with the total lack of skip button made me not wanting to be interested in the story AT ALL because if I have to go through 99% of bloated and boring sh*t just to get the good 1% then I won't.
- the community which are just a bunch of degenerated whiteknights without dignity ready to eat whatever Hoyo throws at them, thanking them and defending them for it.
- the absolute lack of MANY QoLs which are present within the other games, especially those of the SAME company.

Things that are obliterating the game:
1- Skip button(At least for side quests...)
2- Not waiting 800+ days for a rerun character/weapon (PrimordialJadeCutter, Eula, Shenhe, Ganyu, kokomi)
3- Giving 5* to characters that aren't in the main story, weak or random(Sigewine, klee, chiori, emile, mizuki, qiqi)

⚪A general of the Watatsumi Army "Gorou"

5- Instead of random NPC, make events with characters/friends that we know.
6- Focus on the main story(Why didn't traveler ask mavuika about the other twin? what a joke filler natlan ARC is)
7- Giving better reward(although now that is improving)

As well, Shorekeeper was introduced as a character Rover knew from their past. Shorekeeper acts like she knew us for a long time and Rover (who lost their memories) acts the same way? How are the players meant to form a connection when 1, she was only introduced, 2, their backstory was just told in the story and 3, it only took one patch to do so. I hope that the story will be much better going forward

I got a hot take. I dont hate Genshin. I think it perfectly fine for a casual sidegame to pass a few minutes during the day while I wait in line or to play during a break at work. On days off I will spend an hour or so playing. I spend 60$ a year for welkin moons and I am able to get every character I want. Not that big of a deal since I work full time. But I never spend anymore and I have been playing since launch day.
Gacha games in a nutshell. Problem is Genshin as a whole game didnt really do anything for its players over the years. And that will always rub me the wrong way. And it makes zero sense when ZZZ and HSR do things better. They're all under Hoyo. So why are the teams so independent of each other

That's exactly how i'm doing it. And even if i don't play it every day, i'm enjoying the time whenever coming back. Just spending a bit time and when i don't feel like it anymore, i'll go off. Don't stress about events, don't stress about Primogems. Don't let the game control you but you treat it like every other game. And it also makes you not burn out from it. I'd say it's the healthiest way to play Gacha's. And i think that's the casual way to play the game.
I play both games but genshin is more of a casual story game for me now when i feel like it. I also rarely play unless im with friends. This game can be really fun at some points, but at other points its really just dull
Genshin updates feel like they preplanned the whole game from the start and didn't even take into consideration the player feedback, the competition or the game fatigue after years of playing. Just resting on laurels, doing the bare minimum and hoping that most of the playerbase won't notice how much better other games got over the years.
Mihoyo pads their lack of content by having characters talk excessively and time-gate events so you have to wait for 5-7 days before you can do the whole thing.
Only now in Natlan or in Navia Quest, Traveler starting to use Multiple elements, but most of them are only for a second but dont play much roll in the quest
I feel as if the whole 'endless' replayability for gacha is gonna end up going against its own system if you theorize enough.
1. Gacha has had a locked system of 'theres a limit to how much you can obtain per day' meaning, no matter how long you play, you would always hit a cap that won't give you a huge advantage to other players.
2. Highly replayable games dont have that, in the form of ranking systems.(Ie. Valorant, League, Fortnite)
3. Other high replayable games that have no rankings have alot of player to player interaction(ie. Among us, fall guys, gta)
4. Other high replayable games that arent player to player centered, are focused on constantly playing to get significantly further(ie. Rougelike, Balatro, Inscription)
5. The remaining ones are games that have high skill ceilings(ie. Dmc5, rythym games)
Conclusion: current gachas pretty much went full circle to the point they disincentivize players to play more than a certain amount each day, plus they are by nature pretty much incapable(or at least would face alot of issues) implementing systems that other games use for replayability like pvp. Im not saying these are thing that cant change, im just saying alot of these are for some reason poorly;or just not implemented altogether.
They'd benefit from having a pvp fighting game like an arena fighter, but that's a whole new game mode and if we can hardly get the bare minimum from Hoyo then we def ain't getting that! Would be cool though.
Man I hate PvP but I want WuWa PvP. Cuz those look dope. They can just tie currency rewards to participation like pgr and have like cosmetics rewards and bragging rights for the whales at the top of the leaderboard.

You mentionned how it's ok for genshin not to have resin overflow because you can make condensed resin.
But Hsr has that too. Hsr has tokens that you can use for relics in simulated universe, they'r equivalents to that condensed resin in that each is worth 40 trailblaze power. The energy cap and the amount of the tokens you can get will also be increased in 3.0.
So Hsr will have : an energy cap of 300, you can buy 12 tokens AND you have energy overflow in case you surpass the 300, up to 2400 reserve.
I play zzz and they added the energy overflow there too, with a cap of 2400.
They also have the energy overflow in HI3rd !
They are PURPOSFULLY not giving it to genshin to force players to log in each day.
21:00 the reason why genshin doesn't have a skip button is because they want players to waste their time to get the primos. Time is money, so if players want the primos from the "story" for free they have to play through the whole thing without being able to skip, to incentivize spending money for the primos instead. Don't want to waste time on the quest to get primos? Sure, swipe your credit card instead. Extremely scummy and this technique of making people spend money is not very well known by many. Here to spread the word so hopefully more people can see this and understand how scummy hoyo is, especially in genshin

i do agree having characters that have unique exploration mechanic is fine, but i don't agree that every exploration mechanic should be limited to new characters, especially when you make it a gimmick for every new character of a new region to have it. Wuwa has shorekeeper and lumi who has special sprint but they also make that mechanic available in the overworld. Changli and camelya has almost infinite airtime, but now we also have flight gadgets.

Honestly for combat cant say much since im just casual player but remember gi is open world game where exploration and story is main point. The story it self is good but the way they do the story telling is killing me, so slow at least put more cutscenes or expression in dialog scene. I agree, I love lore and exploration but Genshin made it so stale. I loved Chenyu Vale and Fontaine because it made exploration easier while allowing f2p players to get benefits. However with Natlan.. it’s so slow, even with the dragon things. I used to also listen and read every dialogue in Genshin but now, it’s so slow. I’ve just been skipping everything because I don’t care about the story, which is why I ultimately took a long break from the game

Welp Shorekeeper only got sucked and trapped in limbo (deepest part of the tethys system) The system needs Shorekeeper's core (she a robot) unit capable of feeling emotions to function. It doesn't want to destroy her core nor overwrite it. Not really a live threating situation as drinking the most potent poison ever as a mortal then surviving.
Hoyoshills for some reason can't understand Blackhole doesn't = death but instead is a portal. That Shorekeeper's a robot that can't die until her Core is destroyed or overwritten.

Whilst I agree that there should have been some consequence to the Shorekeeper situation, I'm of the mind that it would have been far too early to have actually killed and removed her from the story. For the shear fact of, she is literally the only character that currently has useful information, and can direct us on where to start. Meaning, if they did outright kill her, and remove her from the story, we would have been left to merely wander aimlessly. In fact, her storyline really *should* have taken place, later in the story. After we had properly set out, and built a trajectory of our own, and no longer needed her assistance in finding it. Or even, if we just needed it less.
Day 1 genshin player. And it was my first gacha. Also got Venti at my 1st 10 pull. Didn't understand it at first. But after playing for couple of patches the common sense kicked in and quit after that. And tried another gacha after 4 years.
Just logged in to GI after stop playing that game for months and win 50/50 on Mavuika banner and also win her weapon and then logged out🤣

I did enjoy the first two acts of Natlan though. Kachina actually had a decent story arc. The rest of Natlan was pretty bad imo.
Then again, my favourite Genshin archon quest to date is still Sumeru act 2 (the samsara where you meet Nahida) so I'm well aware that my opinions on Genshin's story are not shared by the wider community.

Inb honai impact 3rd the were a few playable characters that died. First was Himeko and then there was Elysia and the whole Elysia Realm that got whiped out. In hsr Robin, Firefly and Sunday were temporary declined as dead and for some we thought they r for patches.

When it come to the event weps, they still do it. In festering desires case it was a wep not many care for. But then furina came along and it just so happen to be her best F2P wep. Sense then many more weps have came most are pretty meh till a character kit makes it the best option. This makes it a fomo wep as you'll never know what future character might need it.
FFXIV has nearly a decades worth of story/content, hell yeah it's gonna be long. They also do a much better job at setting up side characters, which in turn makes it longer again. With a lot of yap that gacha stories do just to prolong run time, they could use much of that time to spend it with the characters we're gonna roll for instead of NPC #21 that we'll care about for maybe 5min 💀
I played 6 months because it was in PS4... It was fun for a pass time free game, but when it become a gacha cycle I said hell no. I'm happy I jumped the ship early.

The "replayable" aspect is definitely lacking in some gachas.
The most time ive spent in gacha games were HI3 and Arknights, because both have VERY FUN ROGUELIKE gamemodes that COST NO ENERGY TO PLAY.
I could pick the characters i love and build them into massive genocidal machines that annihilate anything in 1 tap, or goofy things that do 40 damage per hit BUT 500 hits per second. Its very fun to fool around in shit like that and Genshin even had a roguelike gamemode too, where is it?
If they just improved on that we would have another great endgame mode... but they scrapped it and gave us stamina management simulator? You literally just need 1 strong character to have stamina to fight the bosses and you usually 1tap them, my Arlecchino and Hu Tao literally solo bosses there and if you have shit like Neuvilette its even easier lmfao

I'm also a day 1 genshin player and put some money on the game but I left the game. The game is good, it has good story and gameplay and has a lot of content. The reason why I left genshin because of the horrific storytelling and too much bloated dialogue that make me wish that it has a skip button. Also having problems on some of the new character (Kinich & Mavuika) because their design is very out of place on the setting of the region. I mean they look like an isekaid MC character on a lightnovel for christ sake. Look at the characters of Mondstadt, Liyue, Fontaine and Sumeru, their design fit so well to the setting of the region and story. Also, lastly I just hate how Hoyo doesn't care about its player, it took them 4 years to give a character selector on their anniversary event and also all of the shitshow that happen like the 1st anniversary, that time (I think its live before lantern rites or something) they give 3 pulls for playing their game for 3 years, and many more. If Hoyo still don't respect its player, then I won't be going back until they do respect their players.
Here's the thing. The lore is good, but the actual story isn't. The lore is esoteric: the Primordial One and the Shades, the Seelies, the deaths of Baal and Egeria, Dragon Authorities, King Deshret, Remus.
Theres souch history and information, and as a guy with a christian background, how Genshin handles the lore and aura of divinity gives me a lot of insight and empathy in my own faith. But the lore doesn't appear in the main story.

story quest... i wish genshin has a skip the entire conversation instead of skipping one dialog at a time. that is why in wuwa i cleared all the side quest but genshin's side quest...60 primogems for 1-2hr even if you spam the space bar or left clip in the whole conversation.

I stopped playing Genshin shortly after 3.0 just due to sheer unbridled apathy over Hoyo's laziness and complacency. I have no idea how people have made it to 5.0. Especailly after Kuro pulled up and showed people how it's done with Wuthering Waves along with Anata and Azure Promilia being right around the corner as well.
a 4 star, sayu can travel for as long as she can hailing her as genshin taxi, but a 5 star is nerfed outside her location? like wtf? why? these lazy mf just can't adjust the mechanics of the character to the whole world.
The only thing that can kill Genshin is Genshin itself. And atm they deserve a game award on their own, because they are too good at it
If Hoyo wasnt f*cking lazy and did lots of improvements and QoL updates for their game, Genshin could QUITE LITERALLY be the biggest AND BEST GACHA GAME of the DECADE.
It has everything to succeed: appealing aesthetics, diverse regions, great lore and worldbuilding with SO MUCH potential... but Hoyo saw money coming in and decided it wasnt worth it to improve anything.

The whole weapon thing is disingenuous. No weapon has been given out that is worth much. No one is crying over the weapons like they still do for those early ones.
Based "14 is a yap game" take. The story is solid and hits pretty good concepts and even storytelling, but damn does it suffer from modern JRPG exposition and yap-off sessions.
resin stuff is really garbage lets be honest.. storage is probably the best system.. and to keep faithful daily login players in advantage.. most of the overcap energy always have 2x time for 1 charge.. in this way those who dont play daily will be always far behind from daily grinders in terms of both resin/energy based farming and premium currency that u get daily.. biggest factor being the premium currency...
if ur game doesn't have much to do in dry patches.. it should definitely have this system.. so players can grind once in a week for long time using stored energy without feeling doing repeated stuff..
also because of genshins dogshit days based mats farming... idk whats the point of that system.. its annoying from consumer point of view.. i also noticed it glaringly when any character release.. on that release date.. its always not that characters mat day.. so whales who wanna max out character on same day end up spending money on mats packages.. scummiest practice there is..
okay abt the exploration focused characters.. i have an opinion abt that as well.. im sad abt characters with locked behind paywall.. but its fine from business standpoint (again scummy behaviour).. but the problem is once u start using them in team.. theres no turning back.. like for eg. when xianyun came out.. and i pulled her just for exploration.. at the start it was pretty fun.. but later i noticed glaring issue in open world combat + exploration.. like lets just say i wanna play certain team for week having fun playing that team.. so i used to switch team very often in open world so i can have replayability and dont get bored using same characters.. but now i cant remove xianyun from team cuz shes god tier.. so i have to play around her now.. same with new characters like chasca, xilonen... ik its a nitpicky thing.. but i want freedom of playing teams that i want in open world without worrying abt mechanisms that make me constantly switch it or in this case not switch it..
in wuwa i dont need to do that.. whichever characters or team i play.. i can always run on walls and now in 2.0 i can fly as well (altho only in rinascita.. again not supporting this whatever the logic behind it)

If a gacha game doesn’t make me excited to do dailys. If the game feels more like a chore than an actual game…I quit. Why waste my time? Personally I like the straightforward non-openworld ZZZ gameplay. Maybe the game will get worse in the future. However right now the game is genuinely fun to play, satisfying, and it’s quick. I don’t have to wander an open world scavenging for morsels of primogems. They just give you 20 free pulls…just cause. I don’t have to waste my time with story if all I want is the rewards. All the same, I do think ZZZ still has a better story than Genshin even if you can actually skip in ZZZ.
I'm sorry to say this but I have to kind of tell you this if the game had cost money I don't think they had been more keen to make it better like I know it sounds insane to not make a game better when your price it but have you seen like the Ubisoft situation because they literally released games they're extremely bad and unfinished and don't even have a good story and it's priced at the same price as every other game they make or in general like the most expensive games on the market I know 2020 was different to some extent but it would not shock me if they had just kept the game the same even if it was price

I said it to my mates ill say it here genshin is a covid gacha stuck with covid mentality thinking everyone has the time to explore or do hours on hours of quests i quit around dainsleifs fontaine quest as I felt I had enough by then from 1.0 it kept pushing fomo of new characters with quality of life movement e.g venti wind boost zhongli pillar yelan dash furina walk on water indefinitely over actually making traversal nice. Wuwa and other games like tower of fantasies gadgets and movement really showed how bad genshins traversal was. The detail transition of older regions to newer regions is like 240p mode to 1080p on some like liyue to chengyun vale and mondstadt to fontaine its shocking the detail differences between the regions
the lack of return of old event weapons is pushed further for the longest time when albedos best weapon in slot was cinabbar spindle which you could only get from his second event and that was it and with new weapons being limited for small times its fomo on steroids
now its stockholm syndrome and sunken cost fallacy for any old players who spent money on the game and the recent lantern rite and previous lantern rites really show it the lack of anyplayable character death meant natlan the nation of war will not be as war ridden as told

I always loved story/characters and exploring in GI. Fontaine was definitely peak!! Unfortunately Natlan has not been doing it for me at all. Stopped playing half way through. Boring characters, hardly any male characters. Poor designs, characters being region locked and pretty much need Natlan chars to be at their best. And exploring is just bad if u do not have Natlan characters. These are only a few points why since Natlan I stopped playing GI....Not to mention all the recent drama with their treatment of their CC, quality of life updates etc!!!
