- Dancer Pose strengthens your legs, improves balance and core strength, and stretches your back and shoulders. It opens the hip flexors (psoas muscles) as a counter to tight hips that develop from too much sitting. Today I'm reacting to a WRONG dancer pose tutorial, which apparently was a very popular video on UA-cam.
