- Let me tell you, there’s a huge confusion within the yogi community about how to do a correct cobra pose.
Why do we do the cobra pose in the first place? Well, it’s one of the most basic back bend poses that’s designed to strengthen your back, and ideally, you should do it every day on empty stomach to keep your spine in its original place.

Several scenes of the video show people with their elbows straight but the video says you shouldn't do this. You should always end such a video showing the proper technique as you go over the points.

I tried to do this yoga spreading the legs it gives pain at the back not working for me
What about glutes? Should I contract them?
I have read about this and it is a controversial topic in the yoga world as some will say to squeeze the glute while and other say to relax your glutes and focus more on rotating your inner thighs while maintaining that distance with your legs and lifting your sternum instead of your chin , keep a slight bend in the elbows.
Relax glutes, contract thighs. Knees off the ground.
