I am so LOVING these videos! So authentic. The crew, makeup and clothes, the scenes and the actors are so believable! I've read the book of mormon many times but this brings it all to life and it will definitely help me to remember the characters as I read. Wonderful casting. These are truly inspired of God. Videos made from the Book of Mormon are divinely guided for sure. The Lord knew that this day would come. He knew the successes would come through His plannings along time ago.
I watch these videos over and over and can see that He holds each generation in reserve to teach and prepare for what is to come. A lot of good stuff coming brothers and sisters.

I once read the Book of Mormon in a rather immersive manner, by literally putting myself IN the stories with the people - "hearing" their voices, "feeling" their emotions, "watching" and "participating" in the struggles and decisions being made, and "experiencing" the joy as revelations and lessons were given, "groaning" with the rejected lessons or suffering of people and prophets, "reviling" and "feeling revulsions" for the sins and lasciviousness of people upon their victims, "experiencing shock" as Abinadi was burned, "looking amongst the dead and wounded" for survivors of battles, "standing silently" out of the way for periods of time as different people sought revelation and peace, and "marveled" as answers came and "rejoiced" as confidence grew and paths were laid out to follow as answers to prayers.
It was.... an AMAZING experience! And it felt so real... with so many senses involved.
I am sure thats how those reading in the early 19th Century felt

One of the things I really like about the production of these videos is the practical effects and the CGI is very subtle. It makes it feel more realistic like I'm there with Nephi and the family.

What an AMAZING new gift which helps us as members in our studies of the Book of Morman & not to mention the HUGE significance these videos will be as teaching tools for both the missionaries & we as the common member who has a difficult time in finding ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! Technically it was Joseph Smith Sr.'s dream but a great dream either way.
@@dustindugger5048 but that dream was written down in detail, 15 years after the book of mormon was published. Not before. And nobody in the family ever spoke of any concern on this dream.
@@brendanwilsonvfx5705 I only read it after listening to a podcast about Joseph's mom. She said Joseph Sr. had the dream when Joseph Jr was 5. And he used to tell it all the time. I suspect the whole family was in on the book of Mormon stories.

@@dustindugger5048 There is truly no way Joseph could have just written this on his own. Accounts of whoever was being scribe while Joseph was translating said Joseph would begin exactly where he had left off the time before and never go back and correct, just read straight through. And when you look at the consistency of the flow of the book and all its corroborations (more than can be listed), there is no way this is made up. It is an account of a true people.

I know it is a true story and history of a nation of real people. It inspires me to read and study it more.

I really felt the spirit in every scene and lines that they said 😭😭 and it makes me cry and felt the Lord😭😍
Even though it isn't the primary intention of these videos, I feel like these are very cinematic.
I think this puts forward a great precedent for Latter-day Saint filmmaking, like the Reign of Judges film.
@@raysalmon6566 Umm, you mean have I seen the Bible videos the Church made? I really like them too. I just like them for different reasons. The Book of Mormon has never really gotten a proper visual depiction of its events.

@@raysalmon6566The reason why you can't find places from the BofM on a map is because place names change. The Spanish also wiped out a large native population, destroying most of their records.
@@raysalmon6566 I find that there is a considerable amount of evidence for the authenticity of the Book of Mormon. Just because we haven't discovered where Zarahemla is doesn't mean it never existed. Just because the Bible says something took place in Jerusalem, that doesn't provide proof that Christ performed miracles - the only proof of that is revelation from the Spirit.
@@raysalmon6566 There are no Egyptians in the Book of Mormon - Egyptian was used by the Jews in 600 BC in their trading with Egypt. The first prophet of the Book of Mormon, Lehi, was well versed in this language, and it was used for the writing of the book because it took up less space than Hebrew.
I was genuinely impressed by this. Especially the set for the ship and the score.

Refer people to this when the anti-mormon h8rs accuse leaders of misusing tithes. This is what we do!! ( asside from feeding the poor, helping addicts become healthy, sending humanitarian aid to hurricanes victims, and building places of safe worship across the world).
the talent from the filmmakers to the actors and actresses.. it just adds value in the scripture reading for those who lack or find it hard to read. It actually helps the urge to read the precious Book of Mormon. it has helped my testimony grow from being inactive this reminds me of why I enjoyed scripture reading as a family now that I have my own. I am truly grateful for my mother and father's commitment to the gospel and its teachings. I can not DENY THE TRUTH OF THIS BOOK. Being a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I am Proud and respect others who pray and submit to God as well. I felt the spirit the entire time ... I absolutely looooovvveee these videos..... MAKE MORE...
I love this, I'm 12 years member in this church and now I can understand more fully the story of Lehi in the book of Mormon and I'm excited to view the next happening. Thank you everyone who are patiently making this.

I am overcome with the spirit as I watched this. I'm so excited for this project! I prayed to know if Heavenly Father's hand is in this, and the spirit tells me yes. for me, this will not replace reading the book of mormon, but it WILL help to enhance my reading experience and provide better insight to what these people actually went through to teach the gospel and to be good and do good.
Every time I watch a Book of Mormon video, I can't help but cry. I'm not sure why that is. I just tear up. A few weeks ago, I was lead by the spirit of God to try and find a way back to church. I am in a wheelchair, so for me, that is very hard. I finally came across the church of Jesus Christ, and I met some missionaries who agreed to come talk with me. They are some of the nicest people I've ever met. They still come meet with me, and I couldn't be happier.

@@bradliston2836 I agree that the timing was well planned rather than "inspired"... But it's not a cash grab because it's not for sale. The church isn't making money on this (they're actually loosing money) - This isn't a theatrical production that is going to make it's money back with ticket and DVD sales. It's just a way to make the message of the BoM more accessible. It's going to be free online just like the Bible Videos (biblevideos.org) shown at church visitor centers, etc. They'll probably sell DVDs for $5 (the cost of materials and shipping) or have missionaries give them out.
Deseret Home yes, I still stand by what I said. It’s a way to convert more people to the church who will in turn pay tithing. You think the church does all this because they plan to lose money? 😂 maybe initially, but conversions from this video turn to tithe dollars and fast offerings. Same as when a company makes a promotional video for their business, they don’t sell the video, but rather the video sells their products. Ergo, cash grab.

We went to the theater for "The Book Of Mormon Movie" years ago..it was awful. This production looks so good, We're excited to see it!

The movie theater version looked even worse on the large screen. When Nephi is tied to the ship, it looked like a sono tube used for concrete that had been painted and the costumes looked like sheets had been pulled from bags..they still had the fold lines as the movie began.
Great story. It was preserved for us!

Where? Now video 1 is out, do you see Nephi's sisters in the journey leaving Jerusalem?
Even if they didn't have any speaking parts the increase in Lehi's family should be at least 4.
@@lesstrawn Well, we don't actually know when the sisters were born. Before leaving? During the journey? Later? The mention of sisters in 2 Nephi 5:6 is years later. One possibility that is supported by the text is that Nephi had sisters who had previously married into Ishmael's family. Ishmael and his family (including daughters-in-law) join Lehi's family in episode 3. 8-)

I love watching these "Behind the Scenes" moments... this is NO rag tag game. I started noticing the equipment... like the big shiny cameras' and such. Towards the end a glimpse of the powerful orchestra and I cry... Don't ever 'stuff' your feelings and emotions. When we cry, smile, , grin, etc. it is to release emotions and our bodies will be healthier.

Can’t wait to see how the filmmakers approached the violent scenes, the battles, the blood and gore. This might end up to be rated R. At last, a big budget, quality period movie that Disney, Universal, 20th Century Fox and other studios would be envious of distributing. Good job Church!

Just because their names aren't mentioned doesn't mean they don't play an important role.
@@MsFitz134 oh I agree. Women's roles are profoundly important! The fact that only 6 women are mentioned by name in the entire book of Mormon does them a great disservice for that exact reason. It says less about the importance of women in book of Mormon times and more about the author's view of the importance of women in book of Mormon times. Hope that helps clarify 🙂

I'm really sorry for the unbelievers, but I think they are making negative posts here because they want to believe the book of Mormon is true. They are consumed with interest or else they wouldn't spend the time on this channel. Let's pray for them, not argue. Pray.
Terry Neal you think we come here because we want to believe the Book of Mormon to be true? How does that make any sense? We come here to help shed light on the obviously poor story that is the BoM, and help the members of this cult escape. Look into the BoM anachronisms and tell me you think that they’re ok and bear no issue. Because I was a believing member, served in numerous callings and served a mission, I believed with my whole heart. So many people I know have done the same thing. It’s not nothing, the issues are real, and you’ll be ridiculed for asking the tough questions.
