That was a sick scene, some serious firepower in a small pub, the whole movie is just overkill with the violence, Quentin Tarentino writes some interesting stuff.
@raymason9907 - In the movie, only one was pretty drunk. The one that challenged the British agent. The soldier, I mean. Not the one that pulled the gun on the agent.
This scene is interesting but devoid of logic. For a guy as smart as the German SS officer, he couldn't figure out a better way to deal with the imposters better than outing himself and getting into a shootout where death would be certain? Why not play dumb, quietly slip out and then come back with backup? The imposters were with a famous actress so it's not like it would be super hard to track them down.
Bro this whole movie is nonsense, what do you expect from Tarantino? Do You know how much anger this movie caused in our grandparents? They said “and again Americans saved the world” 😂
I think the idea is that he believed it was a single impostor and a bunch of actual germans that he had fooled, so he was in effect alerting the others to the treachery
The german ss commander was superb in this scene, he knew what will happened to him, he could have just walked off but he went there anyway... courage lime no other
The whole setup to this scene is great too. How the German soldier interrupts and sits down to play that card game with them, and then realizes that Michael Fassbender is not who he says he is by the way he orders the drinks.
It's a solid line, especially since Hellstrom responded in English as well - with enough of an accent one might think he was part of that same division. 😆
He should have not take anything in the first place, who is interrested by a hero who gets owned because he is F-ing around to finish a soldier ??? Lost interest in the movie at that point back in the day.

For this being a night out on the town for everyone else, they were pretty quick to their guns
A night out on the town in an occupied country during a world war lmao
The soldiers had a one day pass to celebrate a birthday. they were still on duty. There was still a war going on.
@MrYfrank14 i mean, they were pretty drunk. Unless, that gunfire was loud enough to just sober them up instantly.

This was war. Modern day America does that same thing though 😂
