- After braking a spoke on my usual commuter I needed to build an emergency bike to replace it while I fixed my wheel.
Enter my 1970s Halfords Olympic.

This dude: *builds another bike*
😂
That frame is almost identical to my Claud Butler Olympic Road 1972, wouldn’t be surprised if they came from the same factory
awesome
Very cool build ! Thanks for sharing. 💜
gorgeous
Very interesting. Bravo from Greece...
🙌🏼
Simple and cool 😎
Cheers 🍻
Sick build! It looks right.
Cheers George!! 🤙🏼
I've had some square taper Action cranks with 34t and 38t chainrings I've swapped about, they were fitted to my first mtb when my main xc bike went into the shop (expensive + hydraulic so I'm not messing with it) and needed a bike for work, got my first mtb which is a challenge spectre from either argos or toys r us, still fits me but is a touch small (makes it more fun to ride tbh) and I've used it with 1x6 and its now a single speed seeing as the derailleur shit itself and them action cranks and the 38t snail chainring have had to serious abuse and power put through then and they've been perfect so I'd highly recommend for cheap square taper replacement cranks, they also come with the chainring when you order so that's good (the 34t chainring was very good for climbing but I needed more speed so swapped out for the mentioned 38t from same brand)
Lovely build. Already subscribed!
Thank you!! 🙌🏼
I love minimalism in bikes, it's like the optimal way to go!
Actually I'm building someting similar, but the frame has "american bottom bracket", so no good parts to use nowdays. Recently I found an adapter for converting to "english BB", so I hope something nice would come from my old frame as well!
Regards from México.
Hey Alfronso!! I have a similar bike with an American BB so feel you pain. Good luck with the build!!!

Great videos buddy.
What are those brake leavers please, could do with something similar on my fixie. Cheers
I got it in a set but honestly it’s not great. I’ll link some better ones below 👇🏼

Just a question???
What grease do you use for your bearings?
Is 1 spoke enough to make a bike unrideable? In BMX you see people with 4 snapped spokes doing 5-7 stair gaps and going strong but I think the 20 inch and the strong build quality might make a difference. Or is it just a joke and I am overthinking it???
He could have easily just replaced the spoke. But I think he was looking for an excuse to make another build video lol.
The angle of that saddle is gonna annoy the shit outta you
Yeah I hadn’t adjusted it when shooting the finished results, obviously I did for the first ride. It would have annoyed the shit out of me! 😂
yo bro i wana buy a peugeot blue frame bike like this but idk if its worthet for 140$
