My husband comes from a family of 9 kids, most of whom are now married with their own kids. At the start their mom wanted to do separate birthday parties for each kid and grandkid. At some point they convinced her to group birthdays in 2-3 month spans into one party. Still, that's 4-6 birthday parties each year, plus 4th of July and Pioneer Day (Utah) and Thanksgiving and Christmas and probably 5-6 other get togethers in December to lead up to Christmas.

I used to go home or just bus around on weekends when getting my engineer degree, not sure why you would hate. It's much funner than knowing the school is boring af, knowing you'll have to stick around there a year or two more, while you're doing it. If your brain is already developed it's extremely boring to be like these 'coping' kids shown on the video, bored and nothing to do, etc. And then pretend like a few hrs of a class or something actually are hard or matters, while knowing it doesn't matter at all. Parents paid for most of it, I also had a scholarship that only they had access to, etc. , and then 'enforced', that I be on campus or nearby renting or they wouldn't pay. The reason for that is I didn't care in highschool either at all and thus I don't know or remember anything I just casually won or did in highschool, I would have probably just not gone to college and ended up better or worse if it were up to me alone. I regret taking the 'free ride' even though it was prety much 'that or go be homeless' at the time, and it probably made me mentally ill, even though nothing major happened to me like bullying or just rejections or anything really, it just was soo useless and boring.. I feel like my mindset did not represent what I was doing, and looking back, I feel disgusted at my own actions that I went to a 4 year college, even tho the engineering degree maybe opened up a few jobs and has kept me working at a few jobs, and then able to do what I want. I am the type who saves money and uses resources nicely, not some moron who spends extra for religion classes like my parents had done for me. So I feel sorry for any weebs or who had to stay at the colleges and were bored, but they usually could get a bike or do something tbh, I see no reason you would hate someone if they were just smart and wanted to leave from that child-zone, and wanted nothing to do with it generally except to pass the test and leave. No major confrontations or issues changed me there and it was just like some scam child zone, and I feel really bad that I was even there, regardless if some adults hold engineering degrees in higher regards. Also had some money I made 'by myself' which enabled me to do not just sit in some box, with no breaks or anything, so maybe a lot of people just are bad personalities who do this kind of stuff, but I tend to get along with everyone, and you'd probably understand with me at least. I definitely became more mentally ill due to dealing with narcissistic parents who were way stupider than me the whole time and also just thinking I was going up the best path, when the best path imo is to just be at a beach somewhere or just be doing normal people things, not that school crap. It's a shame because I could have been applied and done something but no one cares and I didn't, and also a shame for that cute redhead girl who sat next to me that I was so stupid due to what I was taught.
