Haha what a trip. Saw these guys at Ozzfest 2002, when I was 11. After their set I was the only person who went to their merch tent. Bought their CD, and Andy wrote on the front booklet "NATE- Thanks for supporting our little band!". I was like, shaking, because I'd seen them on MTV2 and when you're 11 you think everyone on TV is a rock star. Then he and Dave drew sharpie sleeve tats on my mom. Pretty much the coolest dudes ever. That was a good day.
I saw them that year at ozzfest too, in camden N.J. They had technical difficulties for half of their set time. Me and my friend tried to say hi to the singer and guitarist when they were walking past us, and they just looked at us and kept walking.
i went to that ozzfest when i was 14 in san bernadino(outside of LA), i remember because its when the lead singer of drowning pool died on tour, they booed the apex theory when they played, i was like WTF
@@sasquatchbukkake Yep this was two weeks after Dave died. I was at the one in Marysville(sac). One of the moments from that day I remember most vividly is Ian Watkins (lostprophets baby rapist guy) delivering a little eulogy. Fuckin lol.
Sure I'm old enough but we didn't have MTV and this didn't make it to German music TV channels. But SOAD did and I got here through them now in 2022. :D And here I am thinking about how funny it is how fame and promo worked back then.
You have no idea how much your bands music has touched some of us! Helped me when o got sober and fixed my life that was all but completely ruined. Thank you
It make me so angry that this band was so talented, original and amazing yet I’ve never met a single person that’s ever heard of them in real life. Criminally underrated to say the least. I still wanna buy a shirt
I saw them a long time ago with Lost Phrophets at the Sunshine Theater in Albuquerque NM ota right when Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja came out bought this CD from the show
The most popular nu-metal bands screamed obscenities mostly. No real depth. These guys are far more creative than that. That's a factor as to why they were overlooked.

I remember when they posted on their website to go to the video shoot, I was so there, was fun. I've seen these guys live least 10 xs, I wonder what happened to them.
I remember when MTV would play music videos early in the morning, about 6AM or so, I would watch before going to school. This was one of the videos I always hoped would come on, along with Faint by Linkin Park and Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja by lost prophets. Good times.
i just realized how underrated this band is. I have this cd and the whole album is amazing. it a shame they didnt stay together. The singer used to be in system of a down.
I really liked this song and "aPossibly" when I first saw the videos on MTV2. I really though Apex Theory were a cool band with really unique sound. It was very much in my musical taste at the time. Wish I could have heard more from this awesome band.
Ontronik was always badass. I still come back to that album from time to time. This and Apossibly still hit a chord with me. These guys were ahead of their time and while nu metal was the noise around this time, I think this went over a lot of people's heads. Everyone in this band were next level talented and creative. And if you hadn't heard of the guitarist's project Mt Helium, there's an EP floating around. I don't know of anything after, say, 2007 but hey! It's all vibes, y'all.
Seriously guys? This song is underrated in general, it was never recognized and today it's a gem for people who still remember it. And we have people who hate it.
stop hating the song!!!!!!!!!!! just cause u cant listen to something new or different every once in a while doesnt mean u have hate on the vid. if u dont like the song dont comment and dont watch.
This is a good song. But the drum part pushes it to another level. The chops required to play this song are out of reach for most. Guess why you don't see anyone doing a drum cover of this song???
Imagine the effort gone into making this video. All the lunatics they collected to put in. I counted three different outfits the singer put on. Is that also him in the scuba gear?
I haven't heard this since highschool !! Lol this takes me back. Now that I'm looking back I hear a bit of System of a down in this. I remember hearing that the lead vocalist was a member of System, don't know if that is true but anyway this is good stuff!!!
shit this was senior year highschool. I remember seeing that at my homies house. we stole his moms vodka and jack daniels, I miss my old friends sometimes lol
+ontronik oh my god! I'm such a huge fan! is it really you? I learned how to play in odd time signatures by listening to this record on repeat growing up! you changed my life sir! are you still making music at all?
Actually they did end up with a different singer on their later stuff. I believe they became a 3 piece and the guitarist is singing. Their voices are remarkably similar.
saw these guys at ozzfest bout 12 years ago when they started playing people were kinda like what the hell but by the middle of the set everybody was movin'

That drummer is sick.
if you're listening to apex in 2024 you're probably old enough to remember when MTV played music videos 🔥
Yes! I found them from my dad and love ‘em
30 years old and still love this band
It was mtv2
16 old , only 2022 i know this band ❤️🇷🇺

Thanks Nate, i actually remember that. Glad to see positive memories of those years are still with us :)
I saw you at buzzfest in the woodlands tx in 2003 or 2002...you guys are AWESOME....much love and respect.....Always
Like they never left

This song has aged much much better than I imagined it would
The fashion tho
Yeah it's pretty damn good and doesn't actually sound super dated or anything
Still fresh
done plenty with my Life, actually the most important thing in becoming a Dad to two beautiful kids :)

Lost my shit when I head that drum break back like in 2001 lol I STILL ROCK OUT TO THIS ALBUM!!
Cool 2022 song very musical
Most underrated band of the nu-metal era.

System of a down + alien ant farm = apex theory
Pshh.. dude. AAF doesn't have anything on The Apex Theory.
AAndy was in a very early verison of SOAD, if memory serves me correctly.
The singer was the original drummer for System of a Down.
@@selw0nk SOAD are better, Anus Theory just rode the coattails of System of a Down's success

Over loony loud lumpy loopholes
With lingo that's loathsome

While customers consume large quanties
Of curiously cultivated curtains
Alongside crowds of crude oils
Crossed and crooked
Atop a crushed icemaker

Good times... Love that snare cracking with that soft riff of the guitar.
Those fucking snare rolls hit so hard. Still love this song over a decade later and wake up with it in my head.
Always loved this band. Great unique sound, their songs supercharge your spirit.
indeed
The talking/ranting. Reminds me of enter shikari
1998..glad to come full circle. come back brothers
I will continue to play this song for my kids for everrrrrreer
Idk why these guys never blew up there sound and music is so good
So sad they only did 1 album. They had so much talent.
They did release a couple EP's as well. Check out Mt. Helium - Apex as a three piece - it's a really enjoyable album.
I remember when they posted on their website to go to the video shoot, I was so there, was fun. I've seen these guys live least 10 xs, I wonder what happened to them.
Saw these guys in 2002. Where does the time go?
The fact that after 11 years this video has less than 150K views blows my mind.
Wood does a lot of great things but it makes a terrible lightning rod.
I think if UA-cam was around when this song/video first came out and was on the radio, it would have a lot more built-in views.
After almost 15 years, I STILL love this song.
Note the lyrics (and the times of this band) almost prophetic
Hellll yeah
This music SCREAMS 90s. Fucking love it.
2002
They were so underrated. One of my favorite albums.

Ontronik Andy Khachaturian is the original drummer for system of a down who is the lead vocalist for this band :D true and a fun fact huh :D
totally dude

Why did this song randomly pop into my head in 2021? Why did I even know what song it was?

the lyrics are so meaningful. go look for the image that they used on their cd cover. its hilarious!
I bought this CD and saw them at OZZfest in 2002. The lead singer is no longer with this band and they're now known as Mt. Helium and not Apex Theory.
The bass line sounds very similar to Incubus "redefine"

like a cross between early incubus and SOAD
