Thanks for this update - I was 90% there to going for it, but now that I know about these quirks I think I'll just stay put with the stock radio!
It's worth mentioning that you can replace the reader lense in the stock dvd unit and just use the updated maps for the saab sat nav that are available on ebay. I did that and never had an issue.
Good to know! Thank you for sharing
I swapped one of mine the same way you did, I should mention nightpanel doesn’t shut off the radio either so that stops functioning.
Interesting! On mine I didn't have any night panel issues. Just that pesky clock that wouldn't retain time adjustments.
Just disconnect and connect your battery at midnight to get correct time reading))
Haha I was doing that but at 12pm and it worked good. Just annoying to have to even do that and got old after a few years
Very informative 😂💪
Good call the start up screen is 80% of the reason I retrofitted the factory nav to my car. Still can’t find a nav disk for mine tho
Ahh Simon I keep forgetting about the nav disk. I owe you an email response my friend
I figured it might have slipped your mind
I got a question if I installed the 2009 Bluetooth module what Bluetooth still works On a 2008 Is Silverado
sorry to ask but is it rare car to own = saab 9-3 2.8T aero xwd 2009 with blue to purble color paint and orginal working nav as from factory ?
It's rare just to have a working factory SatNav radio 😅
