Thank you again, I managed to do the update. It is so important to explain everything step in detail and you explained every step like a law professor. Not all of us are computer nerds and it helped so much. Thank you again.😄😄😄
You are very welcome!! Thanks for watching & for commenting !!!
Thank you. I appreciate the attention to simple detail. Things that seem simple to most people often have me hung up for hours.
I know what you mean !! I like a very simple, thorough explanation of things that is not rushed, and not chaotically presented ... so many videos are made so that viewers need to keep re-watching and pausing to let things sink in ... I do hope people can watch my slower pace and absorb as I go ...
Thanks for joining me here !!
Thank you so much for the video. You know you helped so many people, people like me and many many others. Thank you again.
thank you, I just got my rc600 today, clueless, but smart enough to find your video! and now I'm a 1.21 grad! so thank you and happy looping!😀
Glad it helped!
Firmware is the very first thing everyone should do, followed by just exploring the menu structures, and how to create your own configurations & settings !!
thank you sooooo much for this great video. I am an absolute beginner with a loop station (I just bought the rc505 mkII) and it is really hard to find good videos from people who explain it slowly and understandable (for beginners). As English is not my mother language, I also appreciate it that you speak not too fast. I will have a look at your other videos as well. Thanks a lot!! 🎤😁
You're very welcome!!
I'm happy you've found my channel hope I can make many more videos soon!!!
Thanks for watching...
Great video! Your level of detail on things like ZIP might be a lot for some, but I bet a lot of folks will appreciate it. Nice production value. Thank you.
Thank you so much !!
I always worry maybe I need more action, less talking ...
I do like feedback like this !!
Niiice, THANK YOU.
I really appreciate how you talked so calmly and did it in one take with no cutting in and out in clipped patches.
Really man, thank you soooo much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
So many videos out there where it feels like they're hollering at me, or slamming out too many words much too fast ... people even edit out every space or breath between words. I am not a fan of that method ...
Great video, really appreciate it. I wanna hear the ovation behind you! Been looking at them on reverb a bit....awesome guitar, never touched an electric ovation, but love the acoustics.
Oh no !! There is no Ovation guitar, which one do you refer to??
I also wanted to say THANKS for walking me through how to use my computer for this, I’ve really struggled with computer stuff like that and you amazingly explained the unzipping part. Man, I really can’t thank you enough for making me understand.
You're very welcome!
I'll soon have many more videos on many more things coming ...
This video helped me. Thank you so much for making it ❤
You're so welcome! Please stay tuned for lots more content coming soon !!

You're welcome!
Wow! Thank you! You are a great teacher!
Thank you so much, Danielle !!
Big thanks! from Poland, from Krakow!
Today, 13.12.2024, I updated the system from basic to 1.40. Thanks to your extensive and detailed instructions.
I did it earlier in Boss SY-1000 - but there was no Roland folder in the SY-1000 folder - and there was only one .bin file to transfer. In CR-600, there is a Roland folder and 5 files to copy - and that confused me.
I didn't know - is there an error on the CR-600 disk? What to do next. The Boss instructions on the website do not mention this folder.
But with your help, I went through all the steps and the installation was successful.
Many thanks, I subscribed to your channel and I would like to see other topics.
I wish you good health and success!🙂🙂🙂
Thank you for watching & commenting and for subscribing !! I do like to hear back if my efforts were worthwhile !!
@@the_michaelsphere Nice. Of course - I'll get in touch - when I get into looper and SY a bit.
It takes some time and patience.
I signed up with you on Facebook, and it's a cool group.
So, see you soon and thanks again
I will add - because it is important.
It is fashionable to speak quickly now, in Poland we call it word-flow - and it is good in many light topics. However, updating the firmware is responsible, because an error later costs time and money and the trouble of sending the equipment to the service.
That happened to me 10 years ago - when I updated the software in a guitar processor for over $1000 - and suddenly the power went out. In the whole area.
Although the equipment was under warranty - it died - and the importer's service in Poland did not help - they sent the equipment to Denmark _ TC electronics. There they replaced some integrated circuit - and it cost me 20% of the equipment's value - time, trouble, and stress.
Since then, when upgrading, I connect the equipment to a UPS. This gives me some chance for uninterrupted operation.
So your precise, unhurried and maybe non-commercial - haha - in the form of instructions - is the best and provided in an ideal form.
Great!!!!

Wow I'm sorry that happened for you ...
I will stress the importance of this in a future video ...
If any interruption or power outage happens while updating system firmware, you will very possibly be unable to recover the machine, no mater what Machine it is, they are all similar this way ... what we call this is the machine is 'Bricked' - meaning unrepairable by anyone other than manufacturer...
Only the factory can can fix it, and will take very long time to get it back, if at all, and will cost a lot.
I may try to make a more 'generic' video next time, that can apply to any/all hardware, as the process is usually very similar...
Cheers, my friend !!
Thank you ... very useful! Greetings from Germany
You are welcome!
Thank you for joining me here !!
Piece of CAKE!! Excellent video. You made a confusing process very easy.
I'm so glad you found this and found it helpful !! I always think I go too slowly & talk too long, but I like to make a video where you might come away knowing how, why and what if ...
Makes me feel good when someone appreciates my efforts !!
Thank you!!
Gracias
Very Welcome !! I am so happy if my videos can help anyone with this machine !!
Nice video & explanation man - thank you! Hope things are well with you.
Thank you, PlanZed!!
Things could be much better but I'll take it and see where it goes!! Love your channel
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you've found my page!! Thanks for watching
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for watching !!
Thank for very helpfull content👌
Thank you very much!
Thanks man. So helpful!
Glad it helped! That is why I like to make videos like this ..
Thanks very much!
I do hope this video is informative enough without being too slow & draggy ... I know people shy away from longwinded videos ...
I understand it is better to prevent and do the backup before the update, but I just followed your video and updated it (wonderfully!! thank you so much) and my memories are safe so the update does not erase memory, right?
The Update does not erase any files or settings at all, that happens if/when you do the system & memory Reset ....
After updating the firmware, Boss recommends doing a system reset, and you can also do a Memory reset...
I believe it is just good practise to do both the system and the memory reset, as it puts everything back to factory default settings, and you can start from scratch with the new firmware ... like have a brand new machine !!
(You can restore your work later... I have more videos coming soon)
Great tutorial...thank you..!!.🙏
I'm still on very ancient v1.04 ....is it ok to just install the very latest version...is it backwards compatible?.
Yes, it is ... the newest version will contain all previous updates in it, so just one update for you has everything so far ...
@@the_michaelsphere Brilliant !!...thank you..!!
Big thanks here too. Is there anyway how to name those Memoryplaces? Not just memory 1 and memory 2 or is it so that rename happend when you move files on Pc? and is rc 600 function that so it so, that loop starts recrding by the first timen when i touch guitar strings? Im sorry my bad english. But very good usefull video this update video. :)
Hello & thanks so much for watching !!
You can rename each & every memory location using the 'Name' function found in the RC's 'Menu' list ...
That however, does not change the name of the numbered folders inside the ROLAND folder, as seen with file explorers ... they must be labelled in this numbering format in order to be 'findable' by the RC's operating system ...
You can re-name these numbered folders to anything you want, once they are copied to your computer, so long as you return them to this format of foldername before returning them into the RC ...
And yes, you can activate 'Auto Record' so that you can press the record button, but will not start recording until you start playing ...
Thanks✌🏿🙏🏿
You're welcome !!
Thank you, I tried to download the update and it downloaded as .BIN files that will not open. Any idea why this is happening?
The .bin files should not be able to 'open' at all on your computer ... they are written in a machine language, and they are for the intended machine to be able to open & follow the instructions it contains.
If you are a programmer, you would have installed on your computer, the corresponding program that would create or open a bin file for editing ...
@@the_michaelsphere thank you, I tried for two hours and the Rc600 would not recognise the file. I gave up and feel very disappointed that the machine will not update. Thanks again
@@johnrobboe9103
I see ... ok, there should be more than 1 bin file in the download ...
For the RC600, the file that downloads should have been a Zip file, which when opened on computer, should have 5 files in it ... did you mean that the Zip file would not open on your computer ??
I have made a new updated video regarding Firmware update, it is currently the newest video and should be at the top of my list of videos ... perhaps something in it will help or clarify something ...
@@the_michaelsphere I unzipped the 5 files and the Rc600 wouldn't find them. I appreciate your help. I have other pedals that update very easily.
for the millennials and Gen Z kids - 9:01 :D
So much of what happens behind the scenes has been lost, is good to know a little bit of how things evolved into what it is now !!
