I would say she looks proud for owning anyone who would be shocked. It's an adolescent impulse. But I doubt that she was "told" to believe this. She's at the age where people are challenged to examine their own assumptions and the assumptions of the society around them. If she keeps an open mind, she'll begin to discover that while the idea of ending private property isn't new, actually trying to practice that level of radical equality, like its mirror image of radical libertarianism, creates at least as many problems as we have now.

I’m a compassionate person and think sometimes people need help. But the concept that squatters have more rights than owners and you can’t instantly throw them out of your home is extremely messed up

Also the specifics of squatters rights depends on the state, and In states where the required duration is shorter it's possible to effectively stall for time until the deadline passes by using forged documents. There are literal video guides on how to do this yourself, don't try and act like this isn't a real problem.

Everyone owns something. It's really a matter of legitamizing what they have and how they got it. The vehicle was a poor example but when we are referring to a right to space or a home, I think it's a different matter, particularly in the case of people paying rents. Such people are having their work stolen through a system of taxation without representation. Freedom means not having such a burden. The purpose of squatters rights as an English common law is to prevent situations in which people are rendered permanent serfs to lords. Such people are not free and that is the true source of our problem. America pisses on its citizens, tells them it's only raining and they should have brought an umbrella.

The flaw in your statement is that money is not real. It is essentially a permission statement that's been designed to deprive people of resources and property. Anything that is seemingly gained was actually something that was extracted from work someone else did previously whether they benefited from that or not. The currency itself is a means by which theft occurs.
