The thing is those countries don't advertise themselves as "free society". You can't claim to be a free society and pick and choose what's freedom. I'm of the firm belief that when you go to a country, you follow and obey *their* laws, *their* rules and *their* customs. If you don't like it, don't go. Don't visit. Don't live there. End of. I think that there should be a minimum standard of decent behaviour everywhere in the world, and part of that should be people winding their necks in and not trying to impose their backward behaviours and views on others.
In islam it's supposed to say that there should be _no compulsion in religion._ So why, even in their own countries, do they try to impose their nonsense on others, even making it illegal in some places for foreigners to eat or drink in public during the ridiculous and irresponsible ramadan, let alone forcing women to cover up?

Your face is your identity. It speaks of your mood, your seriousness, your anger, your love, your compassion, your everything. Your face expresses your heart, your spirit. Not showing it negates your existence. With the jihab you have confined your existence to the hoarded property of someone else. The hijab makes you an object, not a person.

To cover your face so someone can’t read your expressions in British society was considered rude until five minutes ago, it was the preserve of terrorists and bank robbers. I remember knowing a Saudi girl who wore one, and at that time, I thought- well, if that's what you want to wear- fair enough.
But what if it wasn't what she really wanted to wear? What if it was a family member who insisted or put pressure on her? Her not wearing one might expose her not just to family pressure, but public disapproval, from other people of the same background. There is no way to know whether a woman in a Niqab, etc, actually wants to be wearing it, but given that many in that culture are intolerant of those who don't, and oppose a woman's freedom not to wear one, I would get them banned.
Most of them have been indoctrinated and forced to wear it. The reasoning behind it is dumb. Proud ex Muslim woman here

Actually it isn't even intended for Muslim countries. There is nothing in the Quran to say that a woman should wear a full face veil (niqab). There isn't even anything in the Quran to say that a woman should wear a headscarf (hijab).
So if it isn't from the Quran, which Muslims claim to follow, where does it come from? As with so many things that Muslims believe and do, it actually comes from cultural norms - many of which have been written in books called hadiths or sunnah. These are what Muslims really follow.
The ironic thing is that the Quran does actually say that there will be a day when Muslims have abandoned the Quran - and we are there today.

@@Atcraftcity I'll partially agree. I lived in a Muslim country many years back, and there were a bunch of expats just like me from several different European countries living and working there.
It actually drew a stark contrast between us and the country we were living in. Although we were from a variety of different European countries, we had more in common with each other than we did with the country we were living in.
One thing we didn't do was assimilate. Nor did we try to push our way of life on the locals.
Having said that though, one major difference between that and the Muslims who live here is that we never intended to stay there. We were working there, and when the job finished we would leave. These people though, have no intention of leaving.
And in that, I will 100% agree with you. If they are going to live here and call it their home, then they should fully assimilate.
@@craigs3007 I do think there should be a quota of how many and immigrate here and they need to be fully vetted due to the fact that Islam is not, in my understanding, a peaceful religion. And vetting isn’t a 100% guarantee these people won’t someday get violent, thus a quota, a small one. I believe they do want to have dominion. We must look at what is happening in the world and use some foresight as well.

The religion of Islam, as practiced by those calling themselves Muslim, can be peaceful or not, depending on which particular hadiths they follow.
Ironically, if they followed islam as laid out in the Quran, we wouldn't have any problems with them. As laid out in that book, it is submission to God, and to do good, to be moral, and to fight only if attacked. It is not about forcing people to become Muslim. Nor is it about forcing women to wear particular types of clothing.
But then, as I said previously, Muslims don't follow the Quran. They use it as a springboard to get to what they really follow, which is the hadiths or sunnah.

In majority of muslim countries, you can wear whatever you want as tourists. I understand you are not familiar with other religions and never seen them, but that does not give you any of excuse to insult their clothing. I just have a visceral reaction to that thing, the Niqabs. It's a reaction of fear and disgust. This isn't just a fashion statement like dying your hair blue. This is a signifier; Islam is here, and in your face whether you like it or not. I saw a woman wearing one in Melbourne FL, a very conservative, and generally Christian place. She was in Barnes and Noble just sitting there. It was totally a political statement. "I'm here and I don't care what you think. And there will be more like me in the future." It's very ironic, they (Muslims) are using the freedom and tolerance of the West against us.

The full face veil is an affront to modern civilized societies. The basic argument for the full veil is that it protects women when it actually accomplishes the exact opposite. It draws unnecessary attention to a normal human being that has every right to be seen in their human form. Imagine working with someone and having no clue about how they look. Don’t badges at work have pictures or are we to make exceptions for these people? I mean how far are we willing to forgo basic common sense?

If there is a purpose to having a covered mouth then I am sure you would not feel offended by it. For instance, if you go to the dentist's office, or during the pandemic. There is a valid reason for this too, the only difference is that it is a religious one. Now that you are no longer ignortant to it you should not feel offended.

I'm of the firm belief that when you go to a country, you follow and obey *their* laws, *their* rules and *their* customs. If you don't like it, don't go. Don't visit. Don't live there. End of. I think you mean a ski mask. A balaclava exposes the whole face, it just keeps the head and neck warm. I know, I grew up in the era when most schoolboys wore these in winter.
