- South Korea resumed Sunday a loudspeaker propaganda campaign against the North as Pyongyang sent a fresh barrage of trash-filled balloons across the border. Relations between the two Koreas are at one of their lowest points in years and in recent weeks the two have engaged in a tit-for-tat campaign of balloon launches, with analysts warning the escalating cycle could end in actual military skirmishes.

yeah, that's what i heard too. makes me wonder what the south's game plan is.
The difference is that on the part of S. Korea, the balloons are being sent by civilians, not the government, and the government has no right to stop them from freedom of speech, while the N.Korean balloons are being sent by the N.Korean government itself.
i am for democracy, but it seriously sounds lame that south gov't doesn't have the right to prevent civilians from doing that. freedom of speech has limits, specially when there's a clear national security threat.

Well, you must consider other factors. This stuff only happened after Yoon Suk-yeol was elected president of South Korea, and he is very, very more anti-North Korean than the previous president, who even hugged Kim Jong-un.
@@bouttagetrealIt isn’t just ‘other factors’, it’s the largest, uncontested main factor. If the South Korean president wishes to be friendly with the North, it happens. And if the president is strongly against the North, that also happens. The United States do have a say, sure, but all they can do is make things better or worse. Not changing the entire direction.
