Your description for what you want to do with The Castle sounds badass. it makes me want to scrap my build and follow along with yours. I spend fecking ages patching the walls with concrete foundations and then turned all the interior space inside the building proper into essentially an indoor shopping mall. Hmm...decisions decisions...
Just to give you a heads up Davey, unless you go through to The Nuclear Option with another faction, you won't lock yourself out of the Defend The Castle quest. All you gotta do is get banished and get Form Ranks done if you haven't already. Once that's done, you'll get told by Preston that the Castle needs you and when you get there Ronnie says the scouts have spotted the Institute and boom. Castle gets attacked. There's also an alternate Defend The Castle, available after the end of the main quest where Raiders, Super Mutants or Gunners will attack but I've never seen that one happen
For a ramp idea you can use the black warehouse ceilings with the triangle siding to fill that awkward gap, looks rather neat if you can find a use for it
norespawns great video. i was playing and the game froze then after 5 secs screen went black and console would not power off. i fixed issue but do u know if i should be cautious or am i good.

There's a mod that adds a settlement at Wildwood Cemetery called Wildwood Crypt. its essentially a blank version of the railroad hideout, but it would be cool to see what you could do with it

I imagine making the castle, similar to this, but imagine more of a skyrim city style inside. maybe, a pub or something. a general trading area/town center, weapon Smith. barracks of some kind. maybe even a jail. kind of cool idea I think. like, an old timey town, built all scrappy and such.
Dont forget to use the broadside turrets and maybe the turret stands! They would be great for the theme. Also why didn't you use the arch junk wall? Too narrow of an entry? Love three walls btw!

Do you prefer the more scrappier aesthetic of the junk walls over the stone walls that USO brought in, due to the fact that ragtag groups of post-apocalyptic settlers would be far less likely to haul something so heavy from the quarries to the Castle? From a lore standpoint, that'd make perfect sense. Just wanted to know what your take on the matter was. Also, I heard from the last video you posted that you might be considering doing Conquest settlements in new places, with that beacon grenade that Andrew added in a few months back. Have you considered Walden Pond or the Crater of Atom as potential locations? The first place could make for an interesting boardwalk settlement, or as a nature reserve of Institute trees, due to the Thoreauan connection. The second would be fascinating to see, as many people haven't attempted to make anything in the Glowing Sea. The tie-in with the Children of Atom could have potential, at least.

after you press X to select an item you can then press and hold down X and use the left analog stick too move it closer to you or further away. If you're holding L1 while also holding X, when you move the left analog stick up or down, it will keep the object in the same place and raise it or lower it.
Pressing R1 while holding X will reset it back to center with your current view. So if you look up while doing it and need to reset and press R1, it will move the object out of your sight Missy of the time and you'll need to cancel to get it back to normal. Oh and it's not holding X as in group selecting. Just click X to select it then after press and hold it down to do it. Forgot to say that.
Little late but how are you moving the pieces up, down, and further away so crisply (like without having to manually walk them over and turn them)? I'm on ps5 so I don't think the controls should be different

don't tell the Brotherhood about bunker hill. blow your cover at battle of bunker Hill. let synth live. get kicked out of Institute. talk to rail road. then go with the Minuteman for the fest if the main story. all factions will be at peace and castle will be attacked by the institute.

PulseR HD Gaming his process is better because it can clip into the ground and stuff. and when he uses the rug and the pillar is to just get it in tricky spots like the ones you saw. place anywhere doesn't work the same on console

norespawns except from a defensive standpoint, its more practical as enemies have to take fire as they move across that thin strip of land with no cover whatsoever. While I understand that ppl like the convenience of making a new entrance in the hole in the wall, it kinda frustrates me because the Castle is a military facility... But it's your build. U can build it however u want to. As for me, I used the old entrance for my Castle. Am looking forward to how u will implement your ideas for this build
Except this isn't just a military facility anymore. The small entrance is not practical, your supply routes need to pass through the settlement (and they do) and you need space for the increased traffic. Also there are two giant holes in the walls that have been repaired with wood/steel - who would attack the old, stone entrance when they could just use explosives on the weaker sides? I had this comment a lot on my old vids - and though I get it, you're kinda thinking like the game is set in a different time period.

This is what I want my walls to be, scrappy wood and stuff, but when you look around all you see is a tutorial to build concrete walls

OutcastMunkee I've only ever been attacked by raiders in that quest, most of them are in Raider PA but nothing a few mk3 turrets can't handle

How do you move items directly up or down?
