You should make a fishing port right outside of the small door entry to the castle like I did. It's a nice little touch and the far harbor addon items really come in handy for that.
Don't listen to the people that don't like your videos norespawns. You're awesome and keep doing what you're doing because that's what your viewers subscribe for.
heh, it came off wrong - but when I do mention I'm gonna play other stuff, people always throw loads of suggestions at me. I always feel a little guilty, because I often shoot them down by explaining why that game wouldn't work. But people are free to suggest games as long as don't mind me saying why they wouldn't work for the channel lol.
Try changing it up with some or just one off the artillery pieces. Say make one of those sunken positions a weapons shop or armory with an artillery piece that shoots out the back. Bonus points if said structure actually has access to the stairs leading up through the walls. Another idea could simply be an ammo point/ rest area for the artillery. Someplace for the operator to to hang out when he isn't shooting that cannon he operates.
I'm pretty sure I've seen all your fallout videos started watching your videos b4 any dlc came out to see the transformation of your settlements has been fun thank you
I know it's been said - but GOSH I don't want this particular series to end haha. I for one had NEVER touched the castle as a settlement in any of my playthroughs because I simply never knew what to do with it. But I just finished up patching the walls with your beloved junk fences, and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out haha. Now to see if I can get it looking as cool as yours without simply trying to recreate it (which I couldn't of course XD)
You should try The Forest. It has great potential to be a mainstay for this channel. I think you would dig the survival elements and structure building is stupidly fun. Either way, I'll watch.
Hey, Davey! Love the build! Perhaps for these shacks, you could put a little fishing spot with a chair between the two, since they are closest to the ocean? Also, are you able to use the Thematic and Practical mod on PS4? I love that one.
I did get what you said about suggestions, but "The Flame in the Flood" could well be worth a look - very similar vibe to Don't Starve, and it also has a cool basis and world etc. Might not be the direction you want to go with the channel though, and some people think the gameplay is a tad grindy (I had no issue, really enjoying it so far, but full disclosure I guess). Anyway, could be worth a look, and I suspect it's probably your kind of game to play off camera regardless. Love the build as always, this series is honestly my favorite thing on UA-cam this year so far, and I will be v sad to see it end. It's also good to see the wood coming back, I tried building without mods again a wee while back, and it was actually really interesting. I was using these pieces in ways that I'd never thought of pre-mods, and never used post-mods because I had used modded pieces to fill those roles and was only using vanilla ones to replace them, if that makes sense? Anyway, it feels like you're kinda doing a similar thing with those mini-railings made from normal wooden rails etc. Anyway, I feel like I should probably comment more, but I often don't have anything to really say aside from "dis is gud," but whatever... dis is gud :)
Completed on survival mode ofc - because Davey got some mad survival game skills. It's really good though - not much replayability, but really enjoyed the experience.
Im not saying this is why it looks so good, but Im on PC,. and i always plug a controller in when building, its so much easier to navigate the menus and place/rotate objects with a controller.
Problem is with making a settlement out of the castle, apart from a few settlers to help with farming, is that virtually all of them end up synths. If the Institute attacks, most of your settlers will attack the Minutemen.
Hey Davey you should try putting an elevator from the water purifier up to the top of the wall. I did it in my castle build and it looks really cool. Especially if you combine it with some scaffold supports around it.
Okay, bit of an odd idea but you seem to like those. For the "artillery area" with the small doorway thing, you should make a power armour storage/shop area. You could have 2 separate levels. The bottom one with stairs going down into the "pit". Still some defences on the top level too. Just an idea
Another boomting build, this castle is perhaps one of the best things you've done on the channel. As for games, you *could* do one of the Tropico games but I doubt you'd have much to do with it
For some reason, those posts you used on the back end to hold the shacks up and the covenant turret stands crash my game without fail every single time
Anybody know why i cant build the artillery? Im on the quest "old guns" and is suposed too... but on my current save i have some settlement mods that is on special, can that have something to do with it?
I wish you would play something like outlast 2. I just really love watching people get scared. I know it's not your style at all but it would be funny to watch you get freaked out
when I get more equipment (need a quieter keyboard and a mic arm) and I do intend to-do live games. And yes, I'll probably do live horror games. Gonna try and buy those things next month if possible.
you should make a jet lab with a chem station and beakers and ingredients to make jet with and put it like somewhere secluded in the castle like its a meth lab but in the fallout universe. that would be amazing. or you could put it in the interior of the castle and make it look like the people that live in the castle make and sell jet and that's their way of getting the supplies to build the castle and to get food and other things
I like the idea of you continuing in a series of builds! I really enjoyed your episodic build! It's almost like Netflix for me.. keep going, you're doing great!
Getting a reply from you has literally made my week :) . I see only one problem with this build though ....... Where are the toilets davey remember everybody poops :p
Probably a dumb question.. but how does he move the objects freely? Like float up and down without having to move your character around? I'm on Xbox btw
I fucking love that game. Problem is, I did videos and not many of my current subs watched them. Plus setting up videos for that takes ages. But I love Civ so much.
What kind of games are you thinking about? You think you could a let's play? I enjoy your banter and thats basically what LPs are. I know many people would it enjoy you doing LPs also... You could a video on what you think bethesda should do with settlements next game as you're one of the most popular settlement builders on YT. edit: ps. I don't think there a lot of games that let you do settlements like FO4 which is why I asked about what kind of games were you thinking about. Otherwise I'd wait for a game your are excited for and start an LP on that and maybe you can do a lp of fallout 4 where you rp as the general and you build up settlements and also go on quests and stuff it'd be pretty cool you could do what you're doing now just with LPs on the side.
You should consider getting a PC Fallout 4 if you got a good enough rig. If you can build stuff like this with the PS4 version (which is the most limited one out there) then I wanna see what you can a do with the PC version which has pretty anything you need.
Try posting some Far Cry editor creations. When 3 and 4 came out I spent a hell of a long time just in the editors to make fun scenes and sets. I figure it'd be good on your channel.
Hmmm, your 'what to make the build into' dilemma gave me an idea. I might replicate this structure exactly and decorate it completely differently, I thought of something cool. My Gorilla Sanctuary at The Castle has been pretty bare lately too, aside from the ball pit. Also, if you're looking for new games to play, check out Gotcha Force by Capcom. Great game.
Wait, am I able to comment links? If so then here's a damn good game that has taken many hours from my life: game-oldies.com/play-online/robo-pit-sony-playstation#
I have the same process. also, you said you may take suggestions, probably not, but on my channel I do Fallout 4 builds Monday Wednesday Friday one week and then Monday and Friday the next week. so, 2-3 Fallout 4 videos a week, and I try to fill the other days with other games. it's a nice change.
Yeah that's my plan re-how many builds I upload. 3 fallout vids +1-2 non-fallout vids is what I did recently, and it worked well. Also, I completely forgot about Prey. Hmm.
norespawns comes out May 5th, I think. Demo is out right now, it's quite good. I just recorded 2 videos for Prey today, and edited 3 Fallout 4 videos for this week. long day.
This comment legit made me giggle because only an American would think British people even think/remember (or even call them) Red Coats. When we think Empire, we think soldiers in olive/khaki colours in places like India. My choice for the 'Red Coat' was actually because I imagined they took some from the Museum of Freedom, where you first met Preston.
3:27 damn those shack support would look great in that alley place ( i forgot the name ) the last time i played was a good 1 and a half year ago. correct me if im wrong but something with hanging men alley. i used to love building there. fuck man. next month im gonna get a new ps4 and buy fallout 4 with it again xD
Hey, I think you should do No mans sky, I've played and I'd say its a good game so you should try it, apart from that, your videos are amazing, keep it up :)
I'm gonna suggest a game anyway, even though you probably won't take it ;) But I absolutely love the game terraria, and the challenge of builing in it. It's a platform survival game, and I really just find it brilliant in every way. Also not totally expensive.
With the amount of time you've spent here and all the work you've done, I feel you should reward yourself a little with a little player home here, and add things around the castle to make it a semi-usable player base...
Does fallout 4 run significantly better on PS4 compared to Xbox? I do a lot of building on Xbox and it destroys my game. And I'm talking like 2 or 3 buildings with sort of a lot of decorating. I crash a lot and have frame rate issues. I try a few of mods that are supposed to improve running. Anybody have suggestions? Hep plz lol
Cameron Amieva From my own personal experience in building limit breaking settlements on X1, and I'm talking 40+ people thanks to Automatron, and reducing the settlement size limit at least tenfold, I rarely encounter many issues... The best thing to do is to delete old saves, as well as try and put all your old power armour frames into like, say, home plate, or a settlement you don't use... With decoration, be minimal, but effective... Two eye catching but fitting props on a shelf or table look better than seven or eight... Try not to have too many crazily modded robots in a settlement either, some part combinations can be a major anchor in terms of FPS... If you have anymore questions or more specifics you wanna ask about, lemme know...
Pr Mo thanks for the info. The only thing I think could be my problem would be my multiple saves and characters and maybe a bit to much decoration I usually keep my settlers under 25 and barely use robots. I'll work on it and see if it improves, thanks!
Cameron Amieva I found that when I started hitting the save limits, which happens all too quick if you have save on sitting, waiting, and fast travelling on, you end up building up all of those extra saves, and once I had deleted the old unnecessary ones, my game ran considerably better... If too much decoration is what is causing a lot of the issues, then I must say that you'd be placing well over a fair few hundred junk items and food in every settlement, which is pretty impressive decorative wise... To put it this way, you will experience massive amounts of lag in places like Sanctuary Hills because of Red Rocket being so close to it... I think there might be another place where this same issue occurs, but I haven't had it happen... Just try a few things really, reduce down the number of old saves, maybe reduce decorative items in less important buildings, to say, do you really need 30 different junk items in that house you only ever go into to look for a settler, you know...? All in all, I hope you manage to get it sorted, so you can continue enjoying your Fallout experience...
Hey I know you said you didn't take suggestions, but maybe you can do Skyrim gameplay or something? Since Skyrim Special Edition came out it's gotten quite relevant again.
why dont you just get the jet pack mod and while building u can fly....... and I know u said u dont like this also get place anywhere mod it uses a stick which is the same as the concrete pole you use all the time but it works BETTER........it makes it less painful for your viewers to watch and more time for crafting
because I don't need either - my builds are fine without. edit, because you added the 'painful' bit at the end: just for you and a relatively small number. The vast majority don't care/agree with me.
don't really take twisted gaming's comment to heart there probably just another one of those butt hurt people who think if its not done there way it is invalid
Any ways, it is the way Norespawns builds that make it 100 times better and more rewarding than just aimlessly clipping things into other things... js.
It has nothing to do with your builds. its about making it easier and faster for you and us as viewers. a lot of pieces u try to place won't work because your using a outdated method. just trying to help u get on board with the rest of us. thats why other fallout 4 build channels have way more views. cmon step it up son
Look (also not sure why you made a second comment, rather than reply to the thread) - let me try and explain it from my angle (again!). You're acting very rude and demanding. Many others who push the 'why dont you use X mod?!' line act how you are right now. It's annoying. So that annoying, demanding attitude plus the fact that I really don't need these mods anyway - brings us to my decision: no. It's become a point of weird principle for me now. Hell no am I going to give-in to people whining because I'm not using a mod they like. To ad, to any mod devs reading this - it's not a reflection on the quality of your mods, keep up the good work. I just dislike whiny, demanding people with a passion.
Round 2 goes to davey , seriously kid give up , we love davey the way he is , If you don't like it leave , but we support this channel and all the hard work and effort he puts into his videos show some respect
Twisted Gaming plus honestly Place Anywhere is a pain in the butt. If you could actually place stuff anywhere without using that move a millimeter tool that comes with it it might be awesome, but truthfully I use the pillar glitch as much or more than I use the Place Anywhere. XBox 1 person here, same principal as the one for PS4. Love Davey's builds and his response.
Yeah, how can you say the allmighty, grand, beautiful concrete pillar is "outdated"?! That's heresy! All hail the mighty concrete pillar! As our lord and saviour Todd Howard said "It just works". Don't take this too serious. Have a nice day ;)
Twisted Gaming I think this channel is all about realism. Most of the builds are based on something that a wastelander could feasibly and practically build. Check out the brotherhood builds, it's very practical and functional from a lore perspective. Really interesting "set pieces", to quote David. Haha
Just wanted to sleep..overhanging shacks - Castle builds...nope sleep can wait
You should make a fishing port right outside of the small door entry to the castle like I did. It's a nice little touch and the far harbor addon items really come in handy for that.
Make a detective like building/ police station
Don't listen to the people that don't like your videos norespawns. You're awesome and keep doing what you're doing because that's what your viewers subscribe for.
"You can suggest obviously, but I probably won't take any suggestions"
😂😂😂
heh, it came off wrong - but when I do mention I'm gonna play other stuff, people always throw loads of suggestions at me. I always feel a little guilty, because I often shoot them down by explaining why that game wouldn't work.
But people are free to suggest games as long as don't mind me saying why they wouldn't work for the channel lol.
I totally understand what you mean, I just found the way you said it hilarious.
norespawns can u make a video building a communist style house?
p.s. you're awsome
as he said that I just started reading the comments
Try changing it up with some or just one off the artillery pieces. Say make one of those sunken positions a weapons shop or armory with an artillery piece that shoots out the back. Bonus points if said structure actually has access to the stairs leading up through the walls.

I was absolutely shit faced last night and for some reason I decided to try and watch this at 5am when I got home. I just had to re-watch it now.
I know it's been said - but GOSH I don't want this particular series to end haha. I for one had NEVER touched the castle as a settlement in any of my playthroughs because I simply never knew what to do with it. Didn't sleep last night and was about to go to bed, nope, Norespawns first
Hey, Davey! Love the build! Perhaps for these shacks, you could put a little fishing spot with a chair between the two, since they are closest to the ocean? Also, are you able to use the Thematic and Practical mod on PS4? I love that one.
I like these structures. It could also be a trading post or shop of sorts, if you needed something else there.
I already bought and completed it last weekend - see here my awesome bear kill: twitter.com/norespawns/status/856605719872798720
Completed on survival mode ofc - because Davey got some mad survival game skills. It's really good though - not much replayability, but really enjoyed the experience.
That is pretty cool, totally suits what your building in the castle
Davy please never stop making videos u are the best
your builds look better than ones done on pc
Im not saying this is why it looks so good, but Im on PC,. and i always plug a controller in when building, its so much easier to navigate the menus and place/rotate objects with a controller.

Think a watchtower up near the front entrance would look pretty sweet and add more height to the castle.
Another boomting build, this castle is perhaps one of the best things you've done on the channel.
As for games, you *could* do one of the Tropico games but I doubt you'd have much to do with it
Perhaps instead of one of the artillery posts, you could put a church sort of like you did with nordhagen?
Iv been binge watching your vids and trying to rebuild them. Keep it up!
I liked these structures, they came out looking like a botany lab.
*Puts down stairs so he has a platform to walk on*
*misses the jump and falls down*
For some reason, those posts you used on the back end to hold the shacks up and the covenant turret stands crash my game without fail every single time
Anybody know why i cant build the artillery? Im on the quest "old guns" and is suposed too... but on my current save i have some settlement mods that is on special, can that have something to do with it?
I might put these shacks in my castle also great video also look forward to when you upload(:
I really like these builds. I would love to see how you would have done them as houses.
That intro,
Hello everyone NoReeeeeespawns.
I watch these videos because I always fall asleep building my common wealth.
Buildings including midevil castles did have canterlevered structures.
Gonna try and buy those things next month if possible.
norespawns fuck yes!!! I'm excited for that. plus ur kinda cute so that will be a nice addition to your videos.
you should make a jet lab with a chem station and beakers and ingredients to make jet with and put it like somewhere secluded in the castle like its a meth lab but in the fallout universe. that would be amazing. or you could put it in the interior of the castle and make it look like the people that live in the castle make and sell jet and that's their way of getting the supplies to build the castle and to get food and other things
Never before have I been so torn on whether I want a series to continue indefinitely or end.
Wait...
Haha, well that's embarrassing! Y'all know what I meant ;)
It's alright
This is an amazing structure!
I like the idea of you continuing in a series of builds! I really enjoyed your episodic build! It's almost like Netflix for me.. keep going, you're doing great!
Have you thought about doing a power armour workshop / barracks space maybe for like the castle sheriff ??
Not sure if I'll have space here, but maybe - we'll see!
Getting a reply from you has literally made my week :) . I see only one problem with this build though ....... Where are the toilets davey remember everybody poops :p
They could poop in buckets and throw it in to the ocean. That might work.
well holy crap his is the earliest I have ever shown up
Probably a dumb question.. but how does he move the objects freely? Like float up and down without having to move your character around? I'm on Xbox btw
I wonder the same thing
Ethan Games hold left bumper for up and down, and right bumper for side to side and forwards and back
Harry Norris, thank you man much appreciated
+Harry Norris cheers
Harry Norris 👍🏻 thanks
you could possibly try Dwarf Fortress but that might not work for the channel.
You should add stuff to the outside as well
You deserve like 5 million subscribers
Civilization would be great for this channel
I fucking love that game. Problem is, I did videos and not many of my current subs watched them. Plus setting up videos for that takes ages.
But I love Civ so much.
norespawns aw that's a shame. Anyways keep up the great vids, I'll watch regardless :D

Maybe you could try out subnautica, its fairly new and has a building system in it with potential
Dude I'm telling you play planet coaster it's like holy fuck amazing and buildy
You should consider getting a PC Fallout 4 if you got a good enough rig. If you can build stuff like this with the PS4 version (which is the most limited one out there) then I wanna see what you can a do with the PC version which has pretty anything you need.
Can anyone tell me where the rubber rugs are from also. Can't find them in USO
I'd say there in the decoration's tab in USO not quite sure it's been a while.
Try posting some Far Cry editor creations. When 3 and 4 came out I spent a hell of a long time just in the editors to make fun scenes and sets. I figure it'd be good on your channel.

Wait, am I able to comment links? If so then here's a damn good game that has taken many hours from my life:
game-oldies.com/play-online/robo-pit-sony-playstation#
Does any of you folk have settlement lighting issues after installing Custom Vanilla Assets? i.e. Lights not emitting light. There a fix?
Davey, do you record just your voice-over the day you release the video, or do you do the build and edit before hand?
Build/edit - then record commentary after. The whole process takes anywhere from 2-6hrs (including upload), depending on the build.

I just recorded 2 videos for Prey today, and edited 3 Fallout 4 videos for this week.
long day.
hey how do you like get object to go up and down im new to settlement building so if someone knows please help
Why Im watching this at 2 a.m ._.
because you gotta see whats been added to the castle? i dunno
MacCready I'm watching this while eating.
Watching this while robbing a bank. So entertaining
MacCready Cuz why not XD
Please make stuff in Space Engineers
No major supports? Those are the first things to go in a raider attack. I could throw a stone at them and they'd break.
Davey check out "Battle Brothers" Recently the full version was released.
love your videos keep it up dude 😄
Got to find me the scales in that first window!
Ice Stella I *think* it's in the railroad HQ building
I heart your face Davey
0:03 Hello Davey!
What mods have all those shack supports and pieces?
Thanks so much
hey a while back you said that you liked Mad Max, mabey you could play that game on your channel
Medevil Engineers or Space Engineers. Or Empyrion
Are any foundations or anything popping out of the roof inside the castle?
Also 60 seconds would make a good video doubt you could make more than two vids on it though
what are the mods you use to make the castle
Oh hey look the Brit puts a red coat there so surprised...
This comment legit made me giggle because only an American would think British people even think/remember (or even call them) Red Coats. When we think Empire, we think soldiers in olive/khaki colours in places like India.

is that a berilium agitator next to the scavenging station?
Yup.
there was a berilium agitator by his generator yesterday too, they look cool lol
Hey, I think you should do No mans sky, I've played and I'd say its a good game so you should try it, apart from that, your videos are amazing, keep it up :)
deer hunter It'd be pretty fun to watch him build a base
It would lol (I am deer hunter btw)
Yah ever done Skyrim?
have you played metro
I'm gonna suggest a game anyway, even though you probably won't take it ;) But I absolutely love the game terraria, and the challenge of builing in it. It's a platform survival game, and I really just find it brilliant in every way. Also not totally expensive.
Waaayyy to old - but I did play it quite a bit back in the day. Have like 80hrs overall on it according to Steam.
When will you return to Far Harbour?
You should start with Rust :)
With the amount of time you've spent here and all the work you've done, I feel you should reward yourself a little with a little player home here, and add things around the castle to make it a semi-usable player base...
7 days 2 die is a gd game dude
I agree, I play that and it is a good game
Your castle is very great im waw (sorry for my english because I french)

I think there might be another place where this same issue occurs, but I haven't had it happen... Just try a few things really, reduce down the number of old saves, maybe reduce decorative items in less important buildings, to say, do you really need 30 different junk items in that house you only ever go into to look for a settler, you know...? All in all, I hope you manage to get it sorted, so you can continue enjoying your Fallout experience...

I like how awkward he is😂
That's called being British. And I'll take that as a compliment :)

Hey I know you said you didn't take suggestions, but maybe you can do Skyrim gameplay or something? Since Skyrim Special Edition came out it's gotten quite relevant again.
Try maybe playing cities skylines
what mods are you using?
Hi Relic hardly any, tbh. Ocdecorator and USO for sure. Lots of vanilla stuff
Nick Green Thanks
Hi Relic plus vanilla assets and scrap that settlement

why dont you just get the jet pack mod and while building u can fly....... and I know u said u dont like this also get place anywhere mod it uses a stick which is the same as the concrete pole you use all the time but it works BETTER........it makes it less painful for your viewers to watch and more time for crafting
because I don't need either - my builds are fine without.
edit, because you added the 'painful' bit at the end: just for you and a relatively small number. The vast majority don't care/agree with me.
And that's a knock out by davey in the first round
don't really take twisted gaming's comment to heart there probably just another one of those butt hurt people who think if its not done there way it is invalid
Twisted Gaming The Place Anywhere mod for PS4 is stupid, pretty useless and plainly a waste of time
Any ways, it is the way Norespawns builds that make it 100 times better and more rewarding than just aimlessly clipping things into other things...
Haha
