I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. I too often fall into the trap of acting as if the world is ending depending on which political party is in the White House - as if God is still not Sovereignly in control of it.

Same! I think I’ve inadvertently idolised my political beliefs instead of putting God first and foremost. If the people reading this could pray for me, I would deeply appreciate it

      Genesis 24:50-67
"50 The Laban and Bethuel answered and said,
" The things has come from the LORD😊❤
; we cannot speak to you bad or good.
51 Behold, Rebekah is before you,; take her and go, and let her be the wife of your master's son( Isaac), as the LORD😊❤ has spoken."
Pause in Genesis 24:50-51 said, " The thing has come from the LORD😊❤... as the LORD has spoken."( Genesis 24:50a to Genesis 24:51b ESV Study Bible)
" Rebekah'a brother ( Laban) and father ( Bethuel) acknowledge that the providential nature of all that has taken place convincingly indicates that Rebekah should become Isaac's wife. This is clearly God's will."( ESV Study Bible)
      Now back to Genesis 24:52-67.
"52 When Abraham's servant heard their words, he bowed himself to the earth before the Lord.
53 And the servant brougut out jerwelry of silver and gold, and garments, and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave to her brother and to her mother costly ornaments.
54 And he and the men who were with him ate and drank, and they spent the night there. When they arose in the morning, he( the servant😊❤
      of Abraham😊❤) said,
"Send me away to my master."
58 And they called Rebekah and said to her, " Will you go with this man?" She said, " I will go."
59 So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham's servant and his men.
60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her,
" Our sister, may you become the thousand of ten thousands,
and may your offspring possess the gate of those who hate him! "
61 Then Rebekah and her young women arose and rode on the camels and followed the man. Thus the servant took Rebekah and went his way.
62 Now Isaac😊❤ had returned from the Beer-lahai- roi and was dwelling in the Negeb.
63 And Isaac went out to mediate in the field toward evening. And he lifted up his eyes and saw and behold, there were cames coming.
64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from the camel
65 and said to the servant, " Who is that man, walking in the field to meet us?
The servant said, " It is my master."
So she took her veil and covered herself.
      66 And the servant 😊❤
told Isaac😊❤ all the things that he had done.
      67 Then Isaac brought her
      into the tent
of Sarah his mother😊❤ and took Rebekah, and she became his wife and he loved her. So Isaac was conforted after his mother's death( remembering or Genesis 23:1-20, Sarah's death and burial)."( Genesis 24:50-67 ESV Study Bible)
In Genesis 24:67 middle verse said, "...and she became his( Isaac's) wife..."( Genesis 24:67 b or middle of the verse" " This is another key event leading toward to fulfillment of the promise to make of Abraham a great nation."( ESV Study Bible)
In Genesis 24:67b or middle of the verse said, "... she( Rebekah ) become his( Isaac's ) wife) and he loved her. ..."
When you( those single men in Christ) get marry one day, you will too love your own wife in Christ. Remind me about Ephesians 6:25-33 😊❤

🧐🧐🤓🤓Dear pastor John I would really love for you to expand more on this topic as I am still confused by the explanation you made on separation of State and church. How can the government make laws that promote the general Christian World views such as on abortion, homosexuality.... Without enforcing them (punishing those who go against them)? Or did you mean that the government shouldn't make religious specific laws (such as require citizens to profess Christ), but rather make more general laws such as on those two topics aforementioned? If so, then is it not still enforcing the Christian worldview? If so should we not as Christians then vouch for governments to make Christian centered laws (i.e., general Biblical moral laws) in so far as possible and end where the Bible ends for the government (i.e., not enforcing requirements for people to be saved, attend church, sacraments...)

I think it would be a very obvious benefit if a formal civil government acknowledged the lordship of Christ and continued to enact laws and govern as if God is king of kings and Lord of lords. Doing otherwise is not good and, what is so disappointing about this whole podcast is that John assumes that there really is the possibility for a government to be neutral. The myth of neutrality is dangerous and wicked. There is no such thing and we should never believe that anyone is neutral. A government that appears to be or claims to be neutral is not. They are always going to have an underlying worldview that informs how the interpret what they perceive. Governments, people, and any other entity has to have an underlying worldview that will inform their beliefs about what is and what should be.

So your championing a form of Christian Sharia law.
And while in its nacency (of such a government) extreme Christian perspectives Don't immediately rise to the fore, there's an inevitability of conflict in this...enter Westboro Baptist.
This is what Piper is talking about. It's not neutrality that he's presuming upon.
Piper is right about these perspectives and right-wing Christianity doesn't have objective perspectives within the Christian landscape. Piper could be seen as a Conservative Democrat... and those (swing votes) are where elections (and government) are decided and enacted. State Christianity in this life is not tenable. And I have been more of a right-winger than I should have been.

So, Christian nationalism is not what you suggest.
I'm not suggesting a national church. But a nation that acknowledges Jesus as God and seeks to govern accordingly is a good thing. The other option is secular governance which has no rationale behind the framework. We can see this working itself out right now.
I reject the comparison between Christ and Mohammad and I reject the supposition that electing Christians into office who are informed by their faith is bad. That is effectively what Christian nationalism would do.

      @robertawilliams8073 7 місяців тому

Dearly beloved, it's not nit-picking in context. Paul teaches in Romans the dangers of judging others and that love covereth a multitude of sin. There is no " problem" in America that's not common in the rest of the world, nor comes as a surprise to YAHWEH, our Creator and Father.
JESUS came for the lost and very broken, bearing the gift of salvation to all who would and will receive. Only HE, thru the HOLY SPIRIT can judge a heart.
Do you have a heart for people who are misguided by the spirit of Satan, that once before our CHRIST, were all guilty of various despicable Sin?
It is written, judge no thing before it's time. And, judge not lest ye be judged by the same measure in which you judge.
Poverty, hunger, and isolation are a monumental problem worldwide. Even gender confusion and sexual immorality issues which all too often leads to unwanted pregnancy, these are humans made in the image of our LORD GOD who get hungry and lonely like any other human. MERCY and GRACE
Sadly, I think you missed the heart of this message from Pastor John. Gays are not your enemy, Satan is. I wonder what a gay person or any other sinner could point out in your life that's sinful. How would you respond? Would you be willing to toss the stone away? It's all a heart issue.
Pharisaical, I'm glad I'm not that, attitude is what drew YESHUA' S wrath. Walk humbly, do justly, show mercy. You'll find these words from the prophet Malachi in the OT scriptures. It is by GOD'S wise counsel.
Love one another as JESUS CHRIST proved HIS LOVE for us ALL, from the Beginning to Eternity! Everlasting Love!

@@Desman228 Dear Desman, thank you for your response. SHALOM 🙂
I'm in partnership with these Pastor's and their Ministries; Dr Charles F. Stanley ( now gone on to Glory), Dr. David M. Jeremiah, Dr Michael Youssef, Rabbi Kirk Schneider, along with Dr. John Piper. They have all; taught, continue to teach, write and have written critical biblically based books and articles for and to Spiritually support GOD'S children along this Christian journey.
These obedient, strong, and dedicated men are bearing mass fruit across the four corners of the globe. The earth is The LORD'S and the fullness thereof. These men have helped me thru 29 years of total disability to full recovery in 2016. These are the Church Leaders led by a supernatural ability to relate to the broken in a way that surely glorifies GOD our FAITHFUL FATHER.
They revisit thru sermons this particular sin as THE HOLY SPIRIT in HIS mind-blowing omniscience distributes.
If you care to, you can download Rabbi Schneider and/or DTJJ com. You will fine a video called Taking The Rainbow Back. It's a movement. Perhaps you can join. Pray first. The HOLY SPIRIT will guide you.
I say all this to lead up to a sobering question. Who or whom are you listening to? Only GOD in Christ JESUS has the power to change a heart or a lifestyle. We have power only as is distributed and guided. Since it is JESUS CHRIST who said, these things must be before the end comes, and not be astonished. It is GOD who is sovereign over all.
I encourage you to watch Sunday's on INSP. 7:30 - 9:00 am There are also various radio, TV, and podcasts by them all.
What I found remarkable is that they all are on the same page and pages. 😊
I'm near seventy years old now. I've followed Charles Stanley,'s preaching and teaching for well over 40 years. I thank GOD that his legacy lives on through technology. Learn from these apostles, my friend. I wish you the Peace of GOD in CHRIST JESUS , and the power of The HOLY SPIRIT. But above all else spend time alone daily with our FATHER and HIS presence. HE delights in talking with us. ❤️

Piper is really bad on this political stuff. The best thing he can do is not say anything at all.

In my opinion, I believe if a Christian is going to be involved in politics, then he or she MUST DO SO from the position of the Bible and be submitted to it. That means if one gets 99 out of 100 things wrong but the 1thing it does get right and or line with scripture, then you should support (vote) for that side. So, basically, what I am saying, is that, there are reason's to vote against Republicans, but there is never any reason whatsoever to vote for a demoncrat
