Ahh The Chin, probably one of my Top 10 favorite Cosa Nostra men, one of my favorite stories about him was from Sammy the Bull, he said Castellono was calling Everyone up and summoning him and others for meetings and then talking about nothing that he even needed to be there for and after about 20min he just goes off and yells "WHAT ARE WE DOING AT THESE STUPID FUCKING MEETINGS?! TALKING ABOUT CONSTRUCTION? THIS SHIT DOESN'T GO ANY HIGHER THAN A CAPTAIN! THE ONLY THING A BOSS GOES TO A MEETING FOR IS 3 THINGS, TO TAKE A LIFE OR SAVE ONE, TO PREVENT WAR BETWEEN ONE FAMILY OR ANOTHER, OR TO SET OVERALL POLICY! WHAT IF WE'RE UNDER SURVEILLANCE? In regards to Cosa Nostra , I have mixed feelings that it's now only a shadow of what it once was. Your Video emphasizes how careful the Genovese Family were. This story of "Nat" getting clipped for being falsely I.D'ed as an informer was a rare blunder for the Genovese's.
But , the story was , as always , very detailed and concisive. I found the story to be thoroughly , & truly interresting , Mate ! Thank you !

Excellent video, as usual. Question: was the Shavoine (?mispelled??) Family/LLC company you mentioned in the video the same Shavoine family from the New Haven, Connecticut area that was exposed in the early/mid 1980s to have had major Mafia ties to construction, political corruption, and garbage hauling among other types of organized crime activity? If memory serves me correctly, one of the Shavoine Brothers held a VERY high position in the New Haven, Connecticut city government (deputy mayor or one of the city council members).
I lived next to the schiavone family growing up in the early 2000s. Family had a lot of money but I was too young to ask their grandson how. Grew up right outside of new haven

Bobby Manna looked just as intimidating as a Tooth Fairy. Looks can be deceiving. Many of the mob bosses were physically very small. Just think about it... Pronunciation of many of these names is a mine field - some stay with the traditional European pronunciation, others have been heavily Americanized, and few people tend to agree on which is correct. He used to go around in the five boroughs and try to unionize barbershops and if you didn't violence was inflicted immediately. My brother dug up the news articles about my grandfather in the Brooklyn eagle I have a copy of the news article when he got convicted him and five other guys.
