3 CAPOS MURDERS - 4th MOBSTER SHOT? - Who was the forgotten 4th victim in HIT - BONANNO FAMILY
Вставка

- American Mafia History - As seen in Donnie Brasco - The Bonanno Crime Family were approaching Civil War. Three rebel Capos, Sonny Red, Philip Giaccone and Dominick Trinchera were murdered in a gangland hit. But there was a forgotten fourth mobster also shot that night in the basement. Watch the story involving Joe Massino, Sonny Black, Paul Castellano and Vincent Chin Gigante.

@@OCSHORTZ Why did it seem like “Rusty” Rastelli was not that respected?
@@antoinesilva1527 I can't speak to him being disrespected. But I get your point. Galante was more feared and even Massino even made a disparaging remark about Rusty. I think the fact that Rastelli spent all but 3 years of his reign locked up probably didn't help.
He Is it ain’t even close, when it comes to facts

great post man 💯 pt 2 of my interview with Anthony (Hootie) Russo will be out today
Nice, if you don't mind I might give your youtube channel a shout out on my Instagram at some point.
Philip Giaccone nephew said in a interview that he was at his uncle's house the day of the meeting a few hours before.
There was a phone call and he picked the phone; on the other line there was a voice that did not identify themselves but said 'tell your uncle not to go to the meeting; it's a set up' and they hung up.
The nephew said he told Philip Giaccone the message, but was not sure if his uncle was concerned about it.
Some people said it was Donnie Brasco but Joe Pistone never acknowledged that he did so who knows
Wow great video, I never knew who was in on the galante hit and didn’t realize that many people were at the 3 capo murder
Thanks pal. Yeah, a surprising amount in that basement, no wonder Santo Giordano got accidently hit. A couple of the attendees I believe weren't in on the hit - I think it was Joe Zicarelli and Nick the Battler, but were invited to make the Rebel faction feel safe. Completely different from what we see in Donnie Brasco right?! Thanks for your support.

Great vid. Seemed like a sloppy hit. Never heard of a guy getting accidentally shot on a hit 🤦🏻♂️

David Barron Corona Tijuana hit, picture is iconic
a lot of hits seem to be sloppy af, but yeah friendly fire is unusual. more common is that they somehow fail to kill someone even after shooting them at point blank range in the head. surprisingly they often use garbage hardware as well, like greg scarpa using a tec 9(yes ofc it misfired) and .25 calibre rifle like wtf? no wonder those hits failed.

Its kinda crazy that the 3 captains actually went to the sit down like that... They were buying weapons and planning a takeover but they went to a sitdown with their enemies unarmed...🤔
Mate I think the same thing. Sonny Red was nervous and suspicious before the 2nd meeting, so by the the third he was really nervous. I know the rules are no guns at sit-downs... But look where that got them!
I heard from a tweety bird that Sonny Reds body was placed so he could be found so his wife could have a proper wake and burial. After this Bruno went after John Gotti and Angelo Ruggiero and almost killed them he was trying to ambush them. You can probably find this story online.
Incorrect..they didn't want them found..Informant told them where he was,,good ole Willy Boy Johnson..The "kids finding him" was a cover story to keep Willy Boy cover..Hannibal did disposal..
Just been reading about the Cypres Gardens Tripple murders in 1967 which was a kind of forerunner to the 3 Capos hit. It was as spectacular a hit as there has been but almost lost to history.
Great minds think alike. I put it down on my list to make a video about it the other day. It gets a brief mention in the Joe Dogs book because Mike "Midge" Belvedere was invited to join Frankie "Five Hundred" for dinner at the Cypress Gardens that night but had to give Joe Dogs a lift to work that night - a massive stroke of luck for Belvedere!

Cesare Bonventre's biggest mistake was joining with Rastelli faction instead of the 3 capos, he would eventually get killed

Great content although you left out few vital pieces of info- Frank Curly Lino did not just voluntarily come in- he is a cousin of feared Gotti henchman Eddie Lino who was a Gambino family capo. Eddie Lino spoke up for his cousin and Fat Joey Massino (because of his relationship with Gotti) ensured Frank Lino wasn’t in any trouble.
Also please stop pronouncing it as Lino as LINE- O, if you’ve watched John Alite’s videos or Sammy the Bull’s they all pronounce it as Lea-no. Thanks
Thanks for the kind words. I mentioned to someone earlier, I always read it as Lee -no for years and years, but just before I recorded the video I double checked it with an Italian pronunciation app and it said LY-no. Well hey, you live and learn. I know full well of the Lino lineage and relatives throughout the mob, I’m not sure I said he voluntarily came in though mate... initially he was ordered in by Dellacroce as they wanted to know where Bruno was. My point was more about getting to the final quote by Nick the Battler. As you probably are aware, you can’t include every single detail into the videos, despite the fact that I try and cram in as much info as possible without the video dragging on too much.
Eddie Lino wasn’t promoted to Capo until 1986, at the time of the 3 Capos hit he was still a soldier.
@@OCSHORTZ
Oh sorry for the misunderstanding, I never meant that you said he voluntarily came in. What I mean is he just didn’t turn himself in out of the blue. His cousin helped set it up and ensured he wasn’t in any trouble

That’s right, I never implied he was a capo at the time rather he was known as a Gotti loyalist and was a captain.
For those that don’t know, Eddie Lino was also later on murdered by the Mafia cops on behalf of Gas Pipe Casso (that’ll be a great story for you to tell if you haven’t) the mafia cops actually said ‘hey Frank’ and Eddie laughs and says,’ no that’s my cousin’ before he was shot through his car window

An absolute gem of an episode mate! The "old timer" may have been Nicola Rizzuto (Vito's father was 57 at the time and had just whacked 3 Violi brothers in 2 years to take over Montreal in 1980). Nick married Agrigento cosa nostra Boss Antonio Manno's daughter in Sicily before immigrating in the 1950's with his Agrigento pals in the Caruana-Cuntrera clan in Siculiana. So many tossers on YT with bogus content cribbed from Wakipedia - I would gladly watch your kick ass stories many times over than 99% of the poor drivel online. You should do a story on the Caruana-Cuntrera Family - they were the Pizza Connection suppliers and also main pipeline to Sal Ruggerio and after his plane crashed, Angelo Ruggerio and Gene Gotti. In fact, Gerlando Sciascia (aka "George from Canada" and pronounced "sha-sha") was the Rizzuto's and the Caruana-Contreras clans 'relationship manager' in NYC regarding wholesale heroin sales and George and another Montreal Sicilian (Guiseppe Lopresti) were both charged in 1983 with Angelo Ruggerio + Gene Gotti in the famous junk case that got Paul Castellano killed (both were acquitted) and were captured on numerous recordings discussing Cosa Nostra and heroin business on the infamous "Quack-quack" FBI tapes that Neil Dellacroce was beefing with Paul about.
Wow..I don't know how I missed this one...I read where Don Vito Rizzuto from Canada was there as well as one of the hitters that came out of the back to ambush the three capos. There was so much shooting, later to hear Big Trin's belly got blown up and 50 lbs of it was blown all over the place. That's where the other mobster got shot, in the cross fire and was partially paralyzed...that scene must have been horrifying...Trin's belly all over the joint...damn...never saw that in the movie...
I have never heard of the three capo's hit as detailed as this...Amazing job, now if you could only do that for the Tony Bananas Caponigro hit. There's a couple of different versions especially with Mad Dog Sullivans version which dosen't match the autopsy report. It's all about the details.
Thanks pal - excuse my pronunciation of Lino in that video! There's a story behind why I messed up and said it like LY-No instead of correctly LEE-No, but it's not worth boring you with. I hadn't planned on doing the Tony Bananas hit because I figured it had been covered by Philip Leonetti quite well - however you are correct that there is some more detail that could be discussed. I'll add it to the list, but it might be a while pal.
@@OCSHORTZ yes in Phil's version they have a sit down and Funzi Tieri denies the whole thing that he gave the ok to kill Bruno and supposedly the Chin and fat Tony gets mad then they pounce on him. @@Silo-Ren I know this is a year old but I don’t really believe everything leonetti says. Then again, that nutjob the iceman admitted to killing a lot of people he didn’t kill and lied about details of people he really did kill so who really knows if Sullivan isn’t doing something like that? Despite everything though, my belief is mad dog is telling the truth
@@jonnytlong
Well you know what's funny about that Jonny, I'd asked a lot of supposed mob experts and most times I get Bob that Mad dog wasn't envoled but I gotta say, in his interview he didn't come across as a b.s. artist lier. He was very believable. You can just tell when people are pulling your leg and plus his whole story has never changed and and theirs certain attributes when people disgrib things that just don't change. This is highly used by detectives today to find out if some is bs them. Their is one way we could truly tell who's telling the truth but I don't have the time or recourses to do that now, and that would be to go to the local PCNT where his body was found and ask for his public records. If you can get a copy of his autopsy report plus the crime scene pictures which I know are out there since I seen a few of them, this can be put to rest and we can finally find out for sure what happened. If Tony was strangled, stabbed, and shot 14 times with five guns all over his arms and legs then Mad dog is lying. If he is only shot twice then Mad dog is telling the truth
P.S. in sorry it's late and I can't keep my eyes open so if I misspelled forgive me, using a small screen.

I plan to do a video on these guys in the near future. My understanding is that the four primary shooters were Eddie Lino, John Carneglia, Salvatore Scala and Vinny Artuso. Artuso's gun jammed, and a rumour went round that he bottled it, however this wasn't the case, but it was still a source of embarrassment for him. There were also 5 back up shooters but I will cover these in the video.

Sonny Ted's body was discovered first not long after the killings but you are right the bodies of Trinchera and Giaccone were discovered around 2004 I think.
Matthew Sonny Reds body was found first, placed to be intentionally found out of respect for his wife so she could have a proper wake and funeral. Sick stuff. Kill them but then do a kind gesture.
I've never heard about Frank Lino's escape from this massacre.
Hope you enjoyed it... apart from my pronunciation of his name. I know it's "Lee-no", i'm not sure what came over me! ha
@@OCSHORTZ Your channel is the best, please get some scoop on the Zips.Their current state and stuff.
One thing buddy is Frank Lino is pronounced “Lee-no”
Haha you won’t believe it but I have always read it as Lee-no, but thought I would double check with an Italian pronunciation app, and it said LYno. You live and learn!
@Jj 😂😂😂😂
@@OCSHORTZ Gee, who cares how ya freaking pronounce it. A lot of Italians in America do not pronounce their own names correctly. You make great content and it's free. I have only praise for these videos you make.
@@Gestapo93 thanks pal... But I will admit that is one pronunciation I am kicking myself over as I always used to say it correctly until I checked with some dodgy Italian language app! 😂 😂 😂
This happened 3 days before I was born
Im surprised sammy never talked about this at least from what i heard
There isnt much information about the smaller cosa nostra families should make videos on comparison of each mafia family in the national crime syndicate like dallas new Orleans Tampa new England clevand Detroit buffalo Toronto montreal hamilton los Angeles southern California and all mid west and eastern seaboard families outside of NYC

@@OCSHORTZ Well Bruno mentored Tommy Karate so that should let you know how they were. Bruno is a good guy and will be home soon and in his 70'''s. He is on the backend of another long bid.
That's one of the best lines
I always thought this happened in Sammy's club...but on a recent podcast the bull did he talks about this hit and doesn't mention any personal involvement in it. What you think?
The testimony of Vitale and Frank Lino both said it was Gravano's I believe. I saw the podcast too and it was unusual that he didn't mention he owned the place. Perhaps just an oversight. Maybe he owned loads of places and didn't recollect. I'm just speculating.
@@OCSHORTZ yeah big oversight though! As I'd imagine they'd need permission to pull a stunt like that.
@@RAGNAR7722 I'm sure they did. Gravano has great recall but does make mistakes. Who knows. Either way it was a crazy story.
