Airpods don't sound great. But the reason why people love them is that it is "good enough" and there sound quality is not there main selling point. Same with any other earbuds. If they are good enough at what people want them to do they will by them. Audiophiles on the other hand will never use earbuds.

The beat earbuds everr imo are the JBL VIBE BEAM, they are $50 and sound SO good. There is no sound leakage. Had them for a while and they are the best I've had.
