Vintage Elba PVT streetlight with 250W high pressure sodium lamp turning on

A very old romanian streetlight turning on. It was common in Romania back in the 60's during comunist era. Altough this one had a sodium lamp on it, mercury vapour lamp was more common.

It is very very sad to see in my city that they have converted all the MV, MH, HPS and CFL lamps to the boring white LEDs like all the street light, all the parks and railway station we have lost our glory of discharge lamps :'(

Unfortunately, I know this feeling, because the same thing is happening in my hometown right now, only one or two streets still have HPS lamps but MV is all gone...
